I was so lucky that I attended this match. I am Dutch and a Feijenoord supporter, but I was in the German block amongst all the German supporters. I had no ticket and tried to buy my ticket in Germany on E-Bay. I managed to buy a ticket for 152 Euro, although Dutch tickets were sold for 500 Euro and more. I picked up the ticket in Germany, managed to get into the stadium, without anyone noticing I'm not German but Dutch. But I can speak German without any Dutch accent and no one ever heard it. Not the police, not the controllers in the stadium, not the German supporters, nobody. I had to shout for the German goals and pretend I was happy, and remain silent during the Feijenoord goals. That was not easy and completely surrealistic. But what an evening and what an experience. I was so happy that I had the guts to execute a plan like this, this chance I would never get again. When leaving the stadium I heard some of the German supporters saying: Finally we are German champion and that is much more important. Sure, they would also have said that, when they had won the cup. LOL!!! In the bus back from the stadium to the parking lot you could hear a pin drop, it was that silent, and I was the only one having big fun, but no one knew that. An experience of a lifetime !!!!

What a great game for neutral spectators (and of course for Feyenoord fans and maybe even for Dortmund supporters).
Vooral als je 9 jaar bent en net een paar jaar gek bent van de club…. Dat is er niet minder op geworden na die avond de hele stad werd helemaal gek. En wat een tegenstanders heb je verslagen ook nog eens. Dit Dortmund en het Inter van toen waren echt de top van dat moment.

Van Hooijdonk and Tomasson were simply too good for our old Jürgen Kohler. Too bad his great career ended with a red card in one of the most spectacular UEFA-Cup finals. Kohler his end was Karma. He destroyed the career of a huge talented star Marco van Basten. More than a 100 attacks unpunished on his ankles. He has no place on a football field this butcher without talent. He got what he deserved! So sad that in those years idiots like him were defended by refs. This ref did justice to that!
Red card shouldn’t be given to Kohler. Too heavy punishment. It was a penalty kick already and you don’t give a player during his last game of his career and during a final a red card for that.
He did make a foul on a player who was getting a enormous chance to score, back then it was automatically red (before the rule changes from a few years ago). I would argue that even today It would/should be red as he was pulling the shoulder.

Natuurlijk was ik blij dat Feyenoord de beker won, maar ik vond het wel bijzonder sneu voor Kohler. Een man met zo'n staat van dienst en dan op zo'n manier afscheid nemen. Goed, het zag er niet goed uit wat Kohler deed, maar een rode kaart zou ik hem denk ik niet hebben gegeven. Maar terecht of niet, ik vind het hoe dan ook jammer voor hem.

Natuurlijk was ik blij dat Feyenoord de beker won, maar ik vond het wel bijzonder sneu voor Kohler. Een man met zo'n staat van dienst en dan op zo'n manier afscheid nemen. Goed, het zag er niet goed uit wat Kohler deed, maar een rode kaart zou ik hem denk ik niet hebben gegeven. Maar terecht of niet, ik vind het hoe dan ook jammer voor hem.
