Paris is planning to drastically expand an urban cooling system that draws water from the River Seine and pumps it through underground pipes to buildings around the city. It is hoped the system will help mitigate the growing demand for energy-intensive air-conditioning units, which contribute to climate change and rising global temperatures.

Very innovative. Several cities around Europe are doing similar. My only worry is: as drought in the EU intensifies and river levels drop, how will this system be affected?
