    Love, love, love Mark Steyn! My favorite guest host on Rush Limbaugh's show. A true hero for liberty, capitalism, economic responsibility, common sense, and reason. A real class act.

    "Multiculturalism is not about knowing something about a culture, it is about feeling warm and fluffy about it". Bang-on!

    PLEASE PLEASE someone set up a spoken word tour for Mark Steyn. That was the shortest 8:03 of my life. I would have sat at my Mac for 4 hours without a washroom break to listen to this man.

    Fantastic rant, nothing better than listening to someone that beleives in every single word they say. England deserves better than what we live with today. Someone should be brought to book about immigration, but they never will be. This is our future, to be swamped and ultimately collapse. I hope Tony Blair sleeps well, not.

    Sharp analysis. Previous post uncomfortable with comment on British superiority. As an American, I very much admired the Brits prior to their slavish devotion to multiculturalism. Gordon Brown's orders to his cabinet not to use the terms Islam & Terrorist together is a classic symptom of this surrendering of British exceptionality for "everyone's a winner" philosophy. Bravo Mr. Stein.

    The Truth. Mark Steyn speaks The Truth. The West isn't perfect but we have much to be proud of i.e. the Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights, etc, the concept that people should be able to pursue happiness in their lives, science, compassion for those less fortunate. Why are so many of us willing to disregard the good our culture has created and make it equivalent to barbarians while we ignore or excuse their barbaric behavior?

    The hilarious part is when you read Leftist "intellectuals" suggesting theirs is an analogy to Einstein's Theory of Relativity. The entire basis of which, as well as the anomaly requiring its explanation, was actually the polar opposite -- the existence of an absolute.

    Steyn provides a lucid explanation for the West's propensity to political correctness and general lack of gumption. There needs to be a balance, of course, rather than the presumption that we are always right, but that is the ditch on the other side of the road at the moment. Sometimes, we are in the right and need to know it and defend it.

    People need to understand first want multiculturalism means. People use this word to describe different things.
    If it simply means learning about other cultures and countries, then that is absolutely great.
    However if it means accepting all behaviors and cultural practicies(including the bad) of a nation/ethnicity/culture, simmply because it is part that culture, then multiculturalism is awful and immoral....

    very funny but not a very tight argumentation. multiculturalism have nothing to do with the war going on in Irak, nor does student's lack of general culture. it's just there, whatever conception of it you have.

    Steyn should distinguish between maintaining cultural homogeneity at home (good) and forcing it on others abroad (bad). Examples: forced conversion of Jews in Spain by the Inquisition (good), Japanese invasion and oppression of China and Korea (bad).

  • @weikko79
    @weikko79 17 ปีที่แล้ว
