I used to work in that area in waste management and dropped in there one day to ask what they did as I frequently saw drivers holding the reg plates standing outside, waiting for a lift. This was a few years ago and they were very friendly and drove me around the runways and then took me to one of the hangers where a Vulcan bomber was being restored, which was a wonderful moment. After that I would give the drivers a lift to a railway station, as they were dropping vehicles off to be stored until required.

I think the security visit @23.40 constitutes an open invitation to all drone pilots to come and visit anytime day or night seven days a week. Making the claim that DJ was not flying line of sight lost them a lot of respect, if you are going to accuse someone of an aviation offence you had better have some evidence.. Total loss of respect.

The jet fighter that you saw at the entrance is the Lightning. He's right about short notice arrivals. Airfields these are always useful for Mil helis as they're obviously less likely to encounter the general public there. There are usually long-standing agreements to use the airfield with nothing more than a short-notice telephone or radio call and, sometimes, not even that. It's more of an awareness issue as a Drone operator that you're more likely to encounter other aircraft even though not an active airfield with an ATZ.
Nice Audit, Amazing Site, Pro Security. I thought his attempt to obtain your details at the end was a smart move knowing he as no right to ask himself. 👍

Who got that great idea to use old runway for parking lot... It only takes 1 big plane who try to use it for emergency landing during engine failures. Birmingham international airport is only 40 km away.

That beardy security guy was harassing you on the roadside and seemed quite stressed / concerned / accusing you of flying out of line of sight; well done for remaining professional as ever 😁👏
Ask him for his details to see if he gives it. He has no authority to ask you for anything. How on earth did we come to this level of stupidity and entitlement. You were not out of the line of sight as you explained. No point in asking you after the event.
Even if he was concerned nothing happened, stupid security logic. I guess that's why he's security, no offense intended 😊
Excellent work DJ you're teaching me so much for when I go out again. 👍🏿👍🏿👏🏿👏🏿
he can actually ask for anything , you just dont have to answer .Big difference to how you think things work
@@patthewoodboy Sure he can ask you anything, the beautiful thing is you don't have to answer. Like I said he has no authority over you, no crime being committed. He's not a cop, even with a cop you don't have to answer. I have my own channel.
@@patthewoodboy On a public road ?
Really ?
@@gehanoates885 He cannot ask, it was in public.
DJ simply reeled them in.
@@noelward8047 I can walk up to anyone I like and ask them anything I like , theres no legal requirement for them to answer , do you understand that simple logic ? , If I walk up to you and ask you for directions , is that against the law. You can refuse to reply.
Refinery? Security guy is talking up some fuel tanks. If it was a refinery there would be loads of equipment and towers and pipes etc. etc. So he's a liar.
TBH these guys are doing their best just not to get sacked by their company. They probably really enjoy your channel, so hats off to them for being so nice. I'd give them a 9 out of 10 :)
Security overall were spot on, until the end. He knew who you were but still called the Police 🤣
It was so snide ... and backfired Haha
(I hope he returns the keyring, out of shame).
@@noelward8047 Noel 😅😅
@@EyeSpyAudit Correct.
Don't spoil things ... it is up to you.
@@noelward8047 Key ring should be returned 😆
Unless he can see through your eyes, he can't say if it was, or wasn't, in your line of sight.
This tool would never lets facts get in the way of instigating a police response.
I had to call the police because it was out of line of eyesight, BS
That tango man talking sounded like he was talking out of his rectum
Can you see through the trees? It's the size of a small bird 120m up and at least 100m away.
Good for you then, when I fly my drone I lose sight at 40m. straight up. Sun and sky color blue to dark grey. DJI minis are not hi viz. I thought of using streamers or big balloons attached to the drone. Any thoughts?
Don't, streamers/balloons risk fouling the props
Delighted to have become a member of your channel Dj,well done for great content you put out.Always love your interactions with people, keep doing what your doing.
Much appreciated

If pilots fly in that area at low level without issuing a NOTAM, then they are responsible for separation. They will be operating under VFR.
Pilots flying over should be at no less than 500ft or 1000ft if its a built up area.
@@sahhull Unless landing, that is correct. That’s why those drones are only allowed a maximum altitude of 400ft. So there is always separation. The exact rules is you must be able to land clear in the event of a power failure as well, your numbers are correct for minimum altitude.
Oh dear, heroes to villains.
The word you are looking for is heroes
I think the security visit @23.40 constitutes an open invitation to all drone pilots to come and visit anytime day or night seven days a week. Making the claim that DJ was not flying line of sight lost them a lot of respect, if you are going to accuse someone of an aviation offence you had better have some evidence.. Total loss of respect.
Pretending to be nice & then calling the police on you.?
After giving them key rings.
Playing safe? I'd say he was trying to start a fire more like. Should have handed his keyring back in shame. Keep up the Great work DJ 😎👍
Get that man some syrup cos he has plenty of waffle
I used to work up there building racing cars when the John and David and dad Clive owned it, the hanger in front of gate was where they had the Vulcan bomber xh558
First security guy was pretty decent, done his job and was polite at the same time 👍👍👍👍👍
My 4pm routine dinner on the table and DJ Audits 👌
(Almost) Everyday since ~4k, he’s been my fave since day one 👌🏻
I look forward to watching D.J. So glad he posts daily :)
This was a second WW air field. US and UK used the base.
Now many different businesses use the site.
Same here...4pm Squirell hunting lol. Great to see Fellow subscribers on security but did feel they were a little harsh contacting the Police about your drone etc....they must have known you do everything within the law etc. Very educational video though i didnt realise that the car industry had these type of places and the scale of it was amazing. Has a Special Bonus we got to see some amazing vintage lanes. Well done DJ.
the 'good job' he did was telling you the details they are trying to hide.
The jet fighter that you saw at the entrance is the Lightning. It was retired from the RAF years ago, but I lived and worked in the Western Cape for years, and it was still used (then) by the S/African Air Force. After a short take-off, it goes it can go into a vertical climb at a speed that squashes pancakes. Don't bump into one on a bad day.
Wrong, it's a dassault mystere
26:18 Slight overreaction, but still a silly overreaction. Tried to gaslight about a refinery being on site (there isn't) called the police about nothing and basically acted stupid about a camera and a drone as if they would expose everything which is already visible on their own website and via Google. The security guy did not deserve the keyring.
The security guy on the gate was the most well behaved one of the lot. The others seemed to be more interested in following procedure than engaging their brains.
@@TheSadButMadLad A lot of security engage and enquire to cover themselves in the event of everything going pear shaped. It might be a million to one chance but a faulty Lipo battery dropping on a very large fuel store is potentially serious.
@@auditnerd8767 such above ground tanks should be double-skin & insulated for fire proofing. The steel outer will easily withstand the impact of a C0 drone. More like a billion to one chance of anything serious happening, hence the lack of concern by the CAA.
@@Mr-J... You ever seen the energy unleashed when a Lipo has an internal short?
And there will always be a weak spot somewhere.
However, your guessed statistic is probably more realistic than mine. And sadly we now live in a world where they want to wrap us in cotton wool in case our poor fragile human bodies are put in the slightest danger.
To say there's a 'refinery' on site is laughable. It's just storage tanks.
Jus go round the back u can walk straight on that place 😂😂
Remember the days when all those aircraft plus others use to do fast taxi runs down that runway before the new car people took over and had it all stopped.
Is that were Sir Frank Whittle and the RAF Developed the British jet aircraft? It could be of historic importance
Whilst I appreciate his concern about the fuel storage cylinders, if a little drone falling out of the sky could damage one enough to make it explode then bugger me how poorly designed is that 🤣
Well done DJ you are very polite and eloquent,a fine example of auditing.👍
Hello DJ Audits, thanks for the fascinating video, couldn't believe the area covered by motor vehicles. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
That’s busy 👌🏻😂 military helicopters, Police Helicopters, air ambulance, old military planes - all fly into the sight at various points……….I bet they do. The security lad was a right nobhead. He tried his best to get you not to fly at first DJ. When you just ignored it he tried to put it on you, he’s mugged himself right off in front of 100,000+ people who’ll watch this video.
21:22 On CAA charts Bruntingthorpe is shown as a disused airfield. Used to enjoy the fast taxyruns when they had the vintage jets running
Sadly that all stopped when Cox's started there.
😂 I've flown over this site in my 475kg rated Microlight and nobody asked me for my details! Gutted 😂
Thanks to security we now know its a fuel dump.
Nice one DJ my neck of the woods !
They all say they are ringing the police but in the end nothing ever happens 🤣
Bruntingthorpe used to be an RAF air station and at some point didn’t it have Vulcan nuclear bombers based there?
The senior security guards didn't actually know who you were, they lied. They were informed by the guy working the barriers.
George Michael lookalike security guard made himself look a right fool. 😂😂😂😂
What a nice young lad helpful and friendly
The security guard was clearly a Wham fan, those shades were hilarious.
Absolutely agree with you & personally i thought they were very feminine 🤣🤣🤣
Nice Audit, Amazing Site, Pro Security. I thought his attempt to obtain your details at the end was a smart move knowing he as no right to ask himself.
👍
Thanks again for another awesome video audit 👍. First security man very helpful informative and respectful. Till your next post stay safe and enjoy the rest of your day 💕
The plane's that are here
are all from the Cold War era 1960 onwards They do Taxi runs went with some work mates The English
Electric lighting Jet's were Awesome especially when
Afterburners were going
so much power they nearly took Off they have a lot of Jets which are grounded
all the best
The security gaurd turned out to be jobs worth 🛎end 🙈
G'day DJ, for a security guy who watches your videos get your key ring back .😂😂😂😂😂
Bruntingthorp is a ex RAF/US Army Air Corp in WW2.
Now used by Cox Autos with it subsidiaries ....Manheim Auctions use an extensive area as a hub for most ex lease cars...then prepped the sent to their various auction sites in UK.
A few years a go it had various functions....a racetrack offered folks to speed round the circuit (old peri track to runway) in cars/ on bikes.
Lots of retired aircraft flew into site ..storage/museum pjeces.
From thd aerial shot, these aircraft has mostly gone, although, as shown, there is a small collecting. near the English Electric Lightening building housing 2 x EE from 111 Squadron's QRA at Wattisham.
The V-bomber Avro Vulcan was made airworthy in the large hangar as seen in shots...Vulcan now stationed at Robin Hood Airport (ex V-bomber RAF Finningley...Doncaster.
And the hamlet Upper Bruntingthorpe was the barracks. The foundations of the hospital and mess halls etc. are still there between it and the airfield
Cox is the right word .... Great video. Loved seeing the planes!
The most professional security team I have seen to date. Also great views...this is a success story.
hi dj i had pub in the viliage called the plough thayc used to keep the vulco bomer and when i was have a kip thay said to you not get sleep to day we ars starting the vulcon john nottingham
Police want your flyer ID...Blagging it mate!!
Name and details...blagging it again Pal.
Not in Line of Sight, so had to report it to police....Blagging it again!!
SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR YOUR KEY-RING BACK. 😆
The bearded suglasses security guy seemed very nice at first but his ego showed through in the end. Calling the police was embarrassing. The other security guys seemed very nice.
The passive aggressiveness from the tool in the prada glasses 😂
So the lesson here is, if you want to case the joint then get a mate out there with a camera - security will swarm round him while you sneak in at the other end of the site! Ridiculous overreaction. Unimpressed with them to be honest with all their nonsense and gaslighting.
They really have a hard time, when an airplane want to land there, removing all the cars and stuff.
Quick! Move all the cars. A plane is on its way in!
Looks like an old english electric lightening jet aircraft at the museum section, an amazing jet. way ahead of its time and had unbelievable acceleration and no other jet on the planet could catch it.
Who got that great idea to use old runway for parking lot... It only takes 1 big plane who try to use it for emergency landing during engine failures. Birmingham international airport is only 40 km away.
I used to visit the site on a regular basis. This is mainly a storage site. Thousands or cars and trucks are parked up there.
It is not all that secure. They pretend that there are secrets. Not true.
Whoahh! never mind a few boring Land Rovers.. there was a English Electric Lightning Fighter jet parked on that site, now THAT is something interesting you won't see again!!!
If it was a known landing / training spot for aircraft, why wouldn't it have a proper geofenced to ground exclusion zone?
i get the feeling that wasn't the police but a higher placed security officer.
Security do have to give their name and accredited body identity number.
To be displayed if S.I.A.
Reckon the security guard felt some pressure from management to try to get you for something for flying the drone and wanted to come across as not knowing anything at all by just reporting the flight itself.
They done so well until ringing the police, he obviously watches but doesn't take much notice of what he is watching otherwise he would learn a lot more from you DJ. The best part about this was them planes wow, I get they want to keep security tight but them planes would be good for people who want to visit there and learn more about the history of the sight. Yes one may be open nearby but one on sight would be good.
The old jet is a French Dassault Mystère
I work for MDM an deliver cars here (15/20) a week
Should have a look at MIRA outside nuneaton on the A5, that’s more interesting as they are testing cars on a regular basis day and night.
He's already done it.
Ooh 4 o'clock (ish) my favourite time off day....D.J AUDIT TIME
security were liars, get those key rings back!
