Those hands and that saw make it look too easy. Don't even question yourself, let the footage roll. This is top quality work and it's a privilege to learn from you.
I really enjoying seeing the whole process not a shortened chopped up and edited version. Pun intended, it’s hard to appreciate how much work goes into a job when you only see a few snaps here and there. I also enjoy seeing all the varieties of power saws you have used on this monster…. Have a great day everybody, and thank you all for your support!!
I absolutely love the way that 500 I works from what I’ve watched there’s not much that compares to it the way it’s working now . Great that you’re coming here to Nova Scotia to help Daryl out with the fire damage. Be safe !
Great timing, Buckin'!! Just got me a 500i used for a great bargain and runs great. Can't wait to buck some small wood with a 28" bar standing up! Thanks for all the great tips you've given, love is STRONG in 2024! ❤💪
Hi Buckin . I’ve watching these videos on cutting this large tree . Love that your are sharing the different saws and showing what they can do The old and the new. I really love to listen to the sounds they each make I can here the difference
Bucking, I've been kinda like you on the 500. Back in the day, I didn't think it was worth it over the 462, 044, or other 70CC saws. Even after I got one, I wasn't completely sold on it. Now that it's getting 10-20 tanks of gas through her, I'm loving it more and more, and is with me for jobs with bigger timber, and when I'm working in tighter forests.
Hi bucking belly Ray I have a 500. I and I absolutely love it. It’s a great chainsaw. I cut up a lot of firewood during the summer. It’s an awesome saw. Enjoy watching your videos. You give me inspiration. 👍
No matter what tool a person is using to feed their family, treat that tool like, it is the last one made. No more parts will be made to repair it. It's the last one. My father told me that, when I broke my first bicycle in half. I had to buy the next one. Tough lesson, but it worked for me.
I'm amazed at how that saw cuts through that monster of a tree. Just watching the chips coming off in piles and you have to go home and probably disrobe outside because your clothes have to be full of chips. One heck of a job. And hats of to Stihl and Ripsaw.
I've had a 500i for about a year, my first pro saw. It's totally stock and it's a beast, I never understood the issues my man is reporting. I'm cutting Aussie hardwood like Ironbark and Greygum- screams though them like a beast. I can't imagine how well it would go in light stuff in this video. I also love limbing and light stuff with it because of how fast it accelerates. You touch the throttle and she's up and going.
Thanks for sharing! Love the big timber, one for the books here, this is what this saw was designed for! Things like a zombie, you bury it and all it gets is hungry. 😂
When I first got my used 038 and got it running and cutting it use to heat up alot. Just boil the fuel. I started watching your videos got it sharp and tuned right and quit just full squirt the whole time and it hasn't ever heated up sense. Made all the difference in the world with it.
G'day Buckin, I've been Buckin logs all week and when I get home I have a tub and a feed and watch Buckin Buckin 👍. PS if you find that Stihl hat the quarter of a million subs that are closet Stihl fans will be happy 😆.
Hello Buckin love your videos. I have been using husky’s and Stihl saws both for the last 30 years in Ontario . My all time favourite saws are the 288 Xp and the 066 mag. But like you I picked up my first 562xp this year and have been well pleased with it. I half hoped we would see the old 394 make a appearance in this log but maybe next one lol. Keep spreading your good words as I’m sure we all like to hear them in todays climate.
You waste half your fuel going braaappp braaappp braaappp!😂😂 I do the same thing, just can't help it with saws like this. Love your videos buckin, hope your boy is doing good out in the bush!!
I had some hard maple 80 inch’s and there was 3 of us cutting with my 500i , 066 magnum and the 881 we cut hard and loved it! All of them in that big hard maple! We did need to every now and then pull out and let the oil run to the end of the bar! It was hard and dry! And before anyone says anything the auto oiler was all the way open! Went through a lot of oil! Still lots of fun!
She cuts eh? Lol That 500i has an awesome crack to it. After scoring the piston in my Farm Boss last fall, I'm taking your fuel ratio advice, Buckin. 50:1 is spreading the oil too thin! Regardless of what Stihl recommends. Might be ok for Joe homeowner and that 20 min pruning job. Not good for hours of cutting.

That's great that "it's" gone but what exactly was wrong or different with the saw. What was the fix to get rid of the small wood grunt sound or 4 stroking sound? That way others might know. I like and run husky but I'm not against running the competition. A 261c or 500i isn't out of the question but a 550mkii or 592 to compliment my 572 is in the future.

Totally enjoying the whole process here brother, and the saws ya have used were all worthy of showing!!! And not sure about your area, but those black non limit coils are getting hard to come by here in Indiana anyways😢...love the content keep it up brother, love wins, from my family to yours ❤
Is your 500i stock or did Ripsaw modify it prior to you trading with them. We've got two 500i and they've always been top shelf but we've never tried any other saw other than Stihl. Thank you.
A couple of days ago I traded a hundred and twenty dollars of firewood for five Stihl chainsaws. Two of them are ms170 and one is a ms290 and one is a ms 440. I got all of them to run except for the ms290.
Hey Buckin', maybe a stupid question but i notice you very rarely bogged the saw down and that's some really big wood. I think I saw you maybe once. What am I doing wrong when I'm cutting big wood and the saw bogs down? Is the chain not sharp enough? Are the rakers too aggressive? Or is it all about power? Or VERY GOOD possibility it's the operator?!?! I'm pretty new to cutting bigger wood. I'm running a M462 with 28" bar. I love the saw but just curious how to get the most out of it when buckin' bigger logs (25-40"). Thank you sir!
From what I’ve learned from BBR is it’s about the chain sharpness and chain speed. And the operator allowing the saw to do the cutting. Most dig in the dogs and it slows everything down, gotta keep those rpm ups. It’s all of it combined
How many cords in that tree? Sounds like a contest to me. It's cool someone let you buck up this monster. I have to admit that I am slightly horrified, Some slabs out of that mama would have been beautiful. I know not practical, for 1, you have to haul it somewhere, which is a good question. Thanks for show casing the saws. Zip ties and bias ply's would have blown them up for views..... or at least tried.
