[Read this first!] So turn 3 is an absolute car crash of rules but luckily we both thought we were right at the time so nothing really lost, a couple of activations could have been tweaked and we would have ended with the same result really. Perils of the long recording time, the post-lunch turn is always dodgy!! Secondly, I'll be off on my long-delayed honeymoon when this goes live, so any technical issues will be resolved when I'm back! A massive thank you to Chris once again for bringing his charm and beautifully painted crew. And a thank you to Wyrd for sending us Ivan for the channel!
MVP is definitely the Undercover Field Reporter - getting the Brocken Spectre out of the scrum and then just hunching down in his barrel terrified of what's going on around him, explosions, spectres, fire everywhere, getting out alive in the end. Got that dude must suffer from PTSD
Honestly, the field reporter is my MVP. Recklessly standing in the middle of a bunch of terrifying shadow monsters, to ask an angry hitman the important questions in life is so perfect thematically. On top of that her auras really did great! (I mean, obviously the rider might have done more, but rule of cool, right?) EDIT: Thanks for chosing me!
Love the game, great production value as always! I think I'd give the MVP to Fiona Gage. She tanked the whole crew for 2 turns which allowed the rider to do its work. Looks like you had alot of fun. Complex game is complex and we totally just say "we'll agree to play it this way" when we're not sure how the rules pad out just to keep things moving and look it up later. For folk learning the rules at home... Concealing terrain grants concealment vs attack actions if ANY sight lines are drawn through it. 👍
You are creating the best Malifaux battle reports out there :) Tip If you have the time: consider adding a counter for soul stones left, cheating cards in hand and life left on characters on-screen Cheers! 🙂
The only bad thing i see is the Ivan player just don’t get attention in putting distracted on umbra models to get advantage and spend alot of Ivan’s AP to get focus. He just need drop the Gibson shockwave and put 2 with the same ap for everyone.
I've just started playing and picked up Ivan as my first master to play, and this was great to watch thanks guys. MVP seems to be pale rider, that mobility and the seer damage he pumpped out to everyone seemed massive with the burning as well.
@@warriorstablewargaming I can see it now. Turn 1, I activate a rat . . . 2 Hours Later . . . Ok, that’s all the rats activated, now for the rest of my crew
Love your vids coming back and your star wars content too! I am getting my explorers guild started soon bought the cards and the book ready to dive it! My MVP was Pale Rider for the Guild he just put out the pain train on poor Ivans crew. Also MVP for Explorers was for me the Brocken Spectre because I love his name hah. Wish everyone loads of luck and great hobbying
This is the first bat rep I have ever watched. Loved the work you guys did with it and I have to say I am debating putting some Warhammer armies on hold to start getting into this. As for MVP I am totally new so I can't really say this for certain but I feel Pale Rider was able to put the Department of Ungentlemanly Affairs group on the back foot pretty early on. That activation made them have to fight from a tough spot with the second activation finishing a good amount off. I feel like I can't imagine much else feeling like it did that much.
The MVP is clearly your hats. If it HAS to be a model, my vote in undercover reporter popping out in the middle of shadows and getting that anti heal back to the deployment zone.
MVP goes to David Hasselhoff (with an Honorable Mention to the Pale Rider). Just starting my Malifaux journey and I appreciate both the videos and podcast. Cheers, gents!
Got to say pale rider as mvp A bit obvious perhaps, but imo anyone who manages to figure out how to set shadows on fire has to be a bad ass and therefore deserving of the MVP!
I still don’t know enough about this game to say whether the Pale Rider’s monstering of the board made him the MVP, so I’m calling it for Corvus who was way ungentlemanly and who I enjoyed every time he went.
I just started with Malifaux before Covid and only got one game in so far, but from my little game knowledge I have, MVP was the rider, he just did so much demage... Couldve been Broken if you wouldnt have had such a bad hand in turn 1. For future videos, could you add your Soulstones in the top corners and maybe show each crew with its upgrades written out?
I gotta go with Undercover Reporter for MVP! Yeah, Pale Rider always does the heavy lifting to the point where he can only underperform, but that Reporter did so much to disrupt and tie up models. I should start giving Nellie's crew more credit. Love those pitch black Umbra models too!
Guild MVP: Pale rider for throwing out huge amounts of irreducible damage. Honorable mention to Piona for doing a good job of playing bodyguard. Explorer's Society MVP: Corvus Rook. His Pressure did some good work in the mid game and eating scheme markers also seemed useful. Honorable mention to Gibson for the significant heal on ivan before the burning got him.
Amazing batrep! I NEED to know how English Ivan pink bases were made! Is that some kind of contrast paint with white higlights? I'd love to have the recipe! And thanks for the Malifaux videos, man, you single handedly made me buy a Jack Daw core box. Painted it last week :)
Hi Gary appreciate the love 😁 The bases were so simple, I primed them with a "Mephiston red" GW spray then sprayed them from the side with "corax white". Once that was done I painted the rims black.
@@ChristopherPBacon69 Wow, the result is really effective! Thank you for the info, man, I have a friend with a brand new English Ivan box and he's gonna love these bases.
I'm looking into Malifaux and your report makes it look like a ton of fun . . . is the Pale Rider that OP? Or is it just the rock to English Ivan's scizzors? I saw on the card it costs 11 stones but English Ivan costs 15 . . . pale rider seemed stronger
I was expecting a win for Ivan here, but I'm glad Nellie won since I'm still trying to figure out the crew. I think the MVP might be the undercover report just getting in there and being annoying.
Before I see what happens, I find this one hard for nellie because of the brocken summons. all that wp 6 is a problem. Maybe phi can protect from that some.

Getting in character with those outfits is fun. MVP goes to Phiona Gage for protecting the rest of her crew and tying up Ivan's crew.

MVP are the Hoff supermarkers. I shall die on this hill.
As enormously excited as I am to watch this, I remember Chris promising us a Hamelin battle report oooooh a while ago….. bring out yer rats!!!!
That's my fault sorry! He's a LOT of activations to film!!
Tom keeps making excuses 🤣🤣
@@ChristopherPBacon69 he’s just scared!

Going to play that matchup soon, this was very interesting. Thanks!

I really like the idea of a chimney sweep crew :D
Mvp is the barrel boi. He took so much heat, sent a guy back to deployment, and was just such a cool model. Well painted and well played.
Great videos just getting back into the game, looking forward to more.
Amped for this. I have an English Ivan box to paint up to try to get into the game, so seeing him in action is exciting.
The MVP at the game is absolutely Pale Rider! Absolutely a beast! He get a quadrakill in a single activation! AMAZING!
Got to say pale rider as mvp
A bit obvious perhaps, but imo anyone who manages to figure out how to set shadows on fire has to be a bad ass and therefore deserving of the MVP!
The costumes take this to the next level
Great report! Thanks a lot for your amazing work!
May I ask what's the name of the beautiful map you use?
Hi there, it's from DeepCut studio, I think it's the 'northern fields' or something like that!
I still don’t know enough about this game to say whether the Pale Rider’s monstering of the board made him the MVP, so I’m calling it for Corvus who was way ungentlemanly and who I enjoyed every time he went.
Another enjoyable battle report. Where does the terrain come from?
Also wondering this - anyone know?
Hi there, the building is from Battle Systems while the foliage is from thesceneuk

Pale Rider! He really put the boot in on most of his activations

Well, through gritted teeth, I have to say the MVP was... Pale Rider. Damn, I hate that son of The Breach.
MVP field reporter. She was on the field, and reported well
Pale rider mvp spreading the burning and irreducible dmg
Yeah MVP to the rider… but that said all the different Rider’s abilities are just too strong if they survive into turn 3+

Great BR, where are the objective token holders and card terrain from?
Yes English Ivan, just got mine painted up so excited. I am sure Eva Havenhand will whip everyone into shape.
Haven't played Malifaux before but I really really want to and English Ivan's aesthetic is by far my favorite. Is he a good place to start?
MVP for me is the RIder. Burn them. BURN THEM ALL!
Well done guys. Beside the result, English Ivan looks (rulewise) really great....its hard to resist :) Sadly, the MVP has to be the pale rider :( ;)
For MVP I'd go with Brocken spectre, since in the first half of game both squads got a good use of it ;) Pale rider was just too much of a monster
Hey guys, nice Batrep! Where did you guys got the water mill building.
Hi there, it's from Battle Systems
Pale Rider for MVP - cleared the field to allow all that late game scoring (can certainly see why he was focused on to kill off quick last game!)
Oh English Ivan excited by that lol
Where did you guys get the token holders for the objectives from?
I'm looking into Malifaux and your report makes it look like a ton of fun . . . is the Pale Rider that OP? Or is it just the rock to English Ivan's scizzors? I saw on the card it costs 11 stones but English Ivan costs 15 . . . pale rider seemed stronger

MVP: Phiona Gage - she ate everything coming here way(being the most targeted Guild-character),caused damage and while leading the front 🙂
Pale Rider would be my MVP choice. All that damage, burning and his mobility…
My MVP will be the Fiona Gage all the damage she soked up and all them + flips is amazing.
Before I see what happens, I find this one hard for nellie because of the brocken summons. all that wp 6 is a problem. Maybe phi can protect from that some.
Warhammer convert looking to get in to Malifaux. MVP is whoever edits in the copies of the cards so I can follow the bat rep better as a newbie😊
Doesnt summoning give pass tokens to the other player?
That we did :)
Mvp does not have to be the pale rider, but it is the pale rider.
OMG Pale Rider FTW!!!!!!! MVP all the way.
Go Guild!
Chris is dapper af
Dead rider is MVP for me. turn 4.....is dead, ...is dead,....is dead......ouch!
More Guild Ball please
Grab yourself some sound treatment panels off Wish/Amazon, it'll help stop that echo/cave/reverb sound.
We have them, and audio editing software, that's the best it'll get I'm afraid. Spent 3 hours tidying the audio on this but alas clearly fruitless.
