Mike Isreatel will always be the S tier for getting me to think about stimulus to fatigue ratio. I don't care about bodybuilding, I'm a strength guy, but planning accessory work around this principle gave me an extra day training per week.

If I do full range of motion curls all the time I will get tendonitis and partials are the only thing that hits the inside of my bicep. Bench if I want to work my chest only I will stop short of lockout by about 3 or 4 inches. Don't get me wrong I do full range of motion on lots of stuff to start my workout, but full range of motion can fatigue some muscles that are already worked while some muscles need a bit more, partials are great finishers. Plus we are all different shapes and sizes.
Pete Rubish is absolute A tier imo, he's one of the og youtube powerlifters that inspired many of us to start lifting. The basement deadlifts, against the background of his washing machines, are legendary. And he just seems like an honest guy that always has the best intentions.

Juji was the person who introduced me to Clarence and Clarence became the reason I started training seriously. Which lead me to Bugenhagen who made me find my love of deadlifting and training heavy and being natty. Two guys I might have not found otherwise

Klokov is an S for me, yeah not the greatest weightlifter ever, but his lifts outside the sport are legendary, 162kg strict press, 225kg push, Klokov press, that thruster CrossFit workout, he’s more legendary than Torokhity for sure Klokov power weekend 😝
Yeah Klokov/Lu/Crossfit are probably the most responsible for the current batch of weightlifters we have now. Tor is great and all and has great content but his content just seem like a more refined version of Klokovs.
That Benni deadlift is controversial. That fed had those big plates made specially for them, and a lot of old heads will tell you they didn't weigh as advertised, and many people hit PRs on those plates that they never touched otherwise. It counts officially of course, but definitely still debated by anyone older than 35.
Ivanko and other companies had chrome deep dish plates. They weren't made for that specific federation. The problem is that they weren't calibrated, and depending on the tolerance (typically 1-2%, but can be as bad as 10%), it could be anywhere from 935-1007 (unlikely to be spot-on 1015).
@@littlethuggie unless I'm mistaken, those are the only chrome 100s Ivanko made. I know they made chrome deep dish plates, but the 100s were specially commissioned by that fed IIRC
Heard the same myself regarding the plates being underweight. His lift is always brought up by the “I’m above *insert current deadlift record*” fans, which is a shame.
@@freakied0550 that may have been their first hand at chrome deep dishes, but ivanko is also known for the best quality. So, their tolerance is likely 1-2%. This still puts it at 999-1,007. Either way, you're right, it's almost a guarantee that it wasn't 1,015 but it probably wasn't nearly as far off as some have insinuated.

But the old PLers, Bromley even talked about it in his channel too, swear that the plates that now defunct fed used were much less than advertised, and many of them set all time PRs there. Benni certainly gets some benefit of the doubt because of his resumé , but if you dig some on Openpowerlifting, you can see numerous lifters hitting PRs in that fed and failing lower numbers elsewhere. It's kind of tinfoil hat speculation, but between the old heads (says the 36 year old) talk, and perusing some numbers, it wouldn't surprise me at all if true. There's promoters out there trying to make a dollar, and big lifts are an attraction.
