This was an exciting hunt because we were taking along Bodie, my Dads duck dog, for his first hunt. Bodie has passed several field trials and earned his Junior Title so we knew he was ready for a hunt. A low wind morning made for a slow flight, but we managed to knock down a few birds and Bodie did great with the retrieves. The icing on the cake was when we had a flock of geese fly over us and we knocked down one that was banded. Moments like this are why we waterfowl hunt. I don't hunt anymore, but always had Labs and Chesapeakes when I did. My son Matt and his Fiance Leanne bird hunt all the time now and they just got a Boykin Pup that they are starting to train. Like to see how he does with those Big Ole Canadians.
