4K Rainy Japan Night Walk - Local Streets in Takatsu (Kawasaki - Near Tokyo) - Slow TV

- In this video, I will take you on an evening walk through quiet residential areas in Japan, more precisely in Takatsu, Kawasaki, an area located just next to Setagaya in Tokyo. The walk starts near Takatsu Station, and from there I will walk mostly on smaller, quiet streets through very typical and somewhat boring Japanese residential neighbourhoods. The video ends on one of the bridges over Tama River, the border between Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefectures.
Recorded around 19:00 August 2020.

Fuck, watching this video makes me feel kinda sad. Japan is my dream country, it's just beautiful. I'm from Colombia, a third world country most known for drug trafficking, corruption, poverty and crime. It has its pretty things too, but living here is not worth it.. Maybe spending some time here to chill on vacations.. But Japan looks so organized and civilized. Literally at the other side of the world.

@@redhat8322 welp! Il sure visit. Just wanted to do that when I was a younger self. To enjoy that phase , interact ! I just like japan for how it is( their love for science and arts is amazing, they got discipline) it's like the near perfect place I always imagined . But I can only think of it now. I do know it has certain flaws and people are biased , draw a cold shoulder if u choose to stay there permanently! Time changes people too though:)

Glad I finally got to watch this walk. Amazing how you walked in a straight line along the water for a long time and the area around it just kept changing styles.
That abandoned can of coffee on the steps by the water was probably the first piece of litter caught by your camera in a while making it really stand out for some reason. All in all had a good time with this video, great route selection as usual.
Edit: Oh and the subtle nod to the livestream running joke of finding beer by filming that vendingmachine gave me a good laugh.

Oh man, I lived in this exact area for 4 years from 2010 to 2014. So many familiar sights. If he hadn’t turned right when crossing the bridge he would have walked past the guest house I stayed in. I would say this isn’t a very interesting area as there aren’t many stores or good restaurants. It is an inexpensive area as you are just outside of Tokyo but close enough to commute easily. Note that the area he is walking through during the last 10 minutes or so was flooded in the October 2019 typhoon.
Wow. I'm sure that took you down memory lane. I always wanted to live in Tokyo. Unfortunately, my family does not think it's a good idea. So I'm stuck here in Canada. :)

Just like any other asian megacity, tokyo too, seems to have that chaotic vibe - the narrow streets, mammoth population & city streets filled with vehicles but at the same time you cannot overlook how well managed, aesthetic and clean everything looks - even more so while it rains. Hats off ✌️
