However, other sources of information (found a reference to this article via wikipedia www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6029811, and the first aid text) describe RTA2 with the conserved ability to acidify urine pH since the alpha-intercalated cells in the distal convoluted tubule still have the ability to excrete H+. Can you please clarify this? Thank you!

Type 2 RTA , pH
Ph=6 or 7 on type II. Greater than 7 on Type I. Type IV has a urine acid PH.
