- Saudi Arabia is challenging Dubai for its title as the most over-the-top metropolis in the region.
New images showing futuristic renderings for the kingdom’s proposed 75-mile-long, and mirror-wrapped, ‘landscraper’ called The Line.
The pictures are absolutely unbelievable and look like something straight out of Blade Runner.
Initial budget estimates for The Line suggested it would cost $200 billion USD, but now that has ballooned to five times that, making it the world’s first $1 trillion USD development.

nah... it never will. the cost alone would be a few hundred trillion.. and even if they have the money, how are they gonna get all the materials needed and how will they build it. this project is so ridiculous that if i were them, i would just ditch the whole concept and build a normal circular city that is already being built by us for millenia

Sometimes it's just fun to watch these crazy concepts even if nothing gonna happen.
The line is completely impossible, it would require more resources than most nations have to build, we're talking building roughly 1000 to 2000 Empire state buildings in a row. then requiring a massive water source to sate those people. Saudi Arabia proposed smaller scale communities, an most are currently abandoned. Now if we had Star Trek technology where we could strife the resources of all those asteroids, and other planets - Oh and those replicator thingies, perhaps.. We're talking more metal cement, an other materials than the Entire state of New York, an then some.
Let´s think about this logically Ok. I am all for futuristic High Tech any thing but this City on a wall is not a good idea. NOT. At all. It´s like living in a prison. Make a city open city like dubai similar as NEON city without those walls. That is way better. Done.
