What is more fucking sick ass opener than "Respond/React" off of Illadelph Halflife??? (RIP Malik B.)....Their run in the 90's was magical and they kept it up hard through the 2000s and still puttin it out to this day. That clip is legendary as the Roots crew for the rest of time. Nice pick man!
Black Thought. One of those rare individuals that I deeply respect in the most basic yet grounded of ways. For example: I respect Naz, but I deeply respect my De La Soul Gentlemen. I respect Biggy, but I deeply respect Eric B. If that makes sense.
@@blackhatreact Yes, and no. What you say is 100% What I mean is some artists naturally speak their true language with ease and no boundaries, while others (most) put their voice/spin to a narrowing template that is already there. Sorry, but I can't quite express the difference I feel. :)
Oh okay, yeah I think I'm closer to understanding it now than I was. The OGs laid the groundwork for speaking real, and those that came after use that template but build on it. The REAL artists, anyway. The imitators just speak it but it don't hit the same.

Respect the "new" lyricists but respect their inspirations and predecessors... that makes sense!
