She was asking him abstract questions and he made it very personal, which threw her off her game - but in her vulnerability, the conversation became more honest, more real. In the space of a few minutes he went from being an interviewee to an on-the-spot spiritual director. Brilliant.

I think her making it personal lets Panikkar really shine. I like her approach, and it seems he does, too.
