I cannot thank you enough for this. Has been great for my mental health. The audio design, the care you take. You are a lovely person. Thank you for your time.
Alright, I just have to say this-you are insanely talented! Like, where has this gem been hiding, and why did it take me so long to find it? This book is on a constant loop for me, and let me just say, the fact that you didn’t throw ads in the middle of your videos? Iconic. Thank you for that! And please, keep reading more Harry Potter books-we’re absolutely here for it. You’re killing it!
Thank you so much. This was my first attempt at doing something like this. I still have a lot to learn. And I get much better as this first audiobook goes on. And thanks for noticing the ad thing. I consciously make sure that there aren’t ads in between to ruin the story and listening experience. Drives me mad when people do that and more so when they get called out on it and then claim that youtube puts them there and they have no control over it. Like stop lying dude you can disable them or if you insist on having them you can decide where they happen and how frequently. I refuse to put ads in the middle of my content, I’m not here trying to make a living or be an “influencer “ . Just want to improve and learn in terms of maybe being a real voice actor one day. And tell a story the best I can. And I hope people can use it for study and/or a learning tool for language etc as well as being entertaining
@@StoicJohnson That’s incredibly thoughtful and kind of you! I’ve listened to most, if not all, of the Harry Potter audiobooks available on TH-cam, and they all have ads that interrupt the experience. But yours doesn’t just avoid ads in the middle-it’s an absolute masterpiece. The effort you’ve put into reading this book, along with the way you bring each character to life with unique voices, is truly phenomenal. You’d make an outstanding voice actor, without a doubt! I’ll be cheering you on as I keep this audiobook on repeat until you release the next one🤘🏽
Aw shucks 🙈🙈☺️ Thank you. Making it really was a great learning experience. And I’m stoked that a lot of guys how found it just as useful and entertaining hearing it as it was for me making it.
@@StoicJohnsonI know you say you’re not doing it to make money and I really love the ad free format. It’s my “getting back to sleep when I wake up in the middle of the night” solution and seems to be the only thing that works. I’m so grateful. Do you have Patreon or some way I can give a little $$? I don’t have a lot but it would be totally worth it to me.
No honestly, it makes me feel a little weird getting money off of people for just telling a story. pop a like on the video. Share it with someone you think would also enjoy it. Pay it forward. Random acts of kindness and all that. Buy someone a cup of coffee, tell a stranger you like their outfit, randomly make someone a sandwich lol something like that. Let’s just put some joy out into the world with no intention of expecting something in return 🤗☺️
I enjoy listening to stories as I go to sleep and this is one of the best audios of HP on here. It's not loud or intrusive and it definitely has a soothing quality.

Thank you so much! I had only read the books in Portuguese, several times, but having this experience hearing all the voices, effects and work you put into this was truly magical. Also, I had never listened to an audiobook, don't really know why, but I was a little prejudiced towards the concept. So this first experience has opened a whole new world of literary possibilities for me. Thanks again and cheers! I hope someday I get to experience the whole saga in your amazing voice!
Dude thank you so much 🥹🥹 Audiobooks can be polarising. There’s some that change how I interpreted a story. Some that annoy me and leave me feeling like “that’s not what i took from it, you’re telling it wrong” when the person reading just doesn’t quite understand the character, context or emotion. And some that are just plain bad. It is all, of course, subjective. I’m so happy that I offered you an enjoyable first audiobook experience
Tried to listen to the Stephen Fry version and I couldnt get through the first 10 minutes. Just finished listening to your read-through and have to say you did an amazing job!! The work you put into it is definitely appreciated

This is my 1st time reading the series. This was so epic!!! I enjoyed reading along. You really did so well in getting the creepy factor in. Loved your use of sound effects. Really gets you engulfed in the story. Well done!! ❤️❤️
@ Thankyouu so much for this. English isn’t my native language but your eloquence was what made me listen to all of this in only two days. I had seen the movies before so imagine my surprise when i listened to Hagrid’s or Harry’s part😅. Keep up the great work. 💐
Thank you so much for listening. It was a balancing act, finding some of the voices, of trying to not let the movie characters influence the portrayal of the characters too much, sticking to the book’s description. But at the same time drawing from them where they were spot on. Draco, for example is described as having a lazy bored drawling voice, so he speaks slower dragging out his vowels and has a slight lisp, cos he thinks he’s superior he never makes the effort to speak properly. Contrast with movie Draco who talks quite sharp and staccato. Snape was described as talking barely above a whisper, he is also a lot less sympathetic than his movie counterpart and really needs to lean into the red herring role more in the book so he’s deeper and crueler as a low voice is more effective irl at carrying as a whisper. Rickmans snape is played more as condescending, patronising and a more sympathetic character. But then hagrid was spot on in the movies so to try and do that differently just for the sake of doing it differently was a folly. And keeping him as a gruff West Country just made sense. Hermione I struggled with and the voice I started with I found hard to sustain when having to switch between multiple characters, so I decided that I would focus more on the cadence of speech to portray her more than the tone. Harry and Hermoine are the only two I intentionally changed their style of speech as the book goes on. Hermoine goes from talking very fast sharp and condescending , to being a bit more whiny as she’s exasperated from trying to impress people and getting no where and having no friends, to softening and speaking with more care and warmth after being accepted by Harry and Ron Harry starts nervous and unsure from a lifetime of bullying, to quickly becoming a little enamoured with his own hype and a bit of a show off cos no one ever payed him attention before, he then gets quite cocky and overconfident cos of the way he was revered and his natural aptitude for flying, before being humbled somewhat and his cadence softening in reflection of that I probably thought about the characters way more than necessary haha but that was how I approached it
I love when they mock each other and you actually play that out! Ngl Stephen Fry is a classic, but I always felt the way he portrayed Hermione in general was undermining her character (maybe just the comic effect of having a bariton voice talk girly). There was so much subtlety in your version though. Because her character wasn’t under the comic impression all the time, actual mockery came across much more strongly. Hogwarts did not feel like a private school either, where everyone speaks BRP!
@hannelorefly thank you, I feel the same way about the fry version. Everyone just sounds like a geriatric or a toff, like Ron’s a country boy why does he make him soooooo posh, well it’s cos fry is posh and honestly I can’t stand his voice it’s been shoved into brits faces for decades 😅
Thank you so much. Your inflection that you added to every sentence and character was amazing! Listened while at work and it's was just as gripping as the first time I read it as a young teenager
Just finished. Thank you so much 🥰 oh, seems to me that learning how not to do things is kinda what this story is all about and, generally, a really good way to learn.
This is absolutely delightfull to listen to. Thanks.. audioBooks are normally outzoomed. But i manage to stay connected to this. Voice is perfect for reading.
Stoic! You sir held me company for three day (I dragged it out), and I must say The absolute BEST way to consume Harry Potter! Thank you for a wonderful audiobook 👌🏼 I admit I have a little bit of a crush. looking forward for the next books! Love from Sweden!
This is so well read! Great work! I don’t read books cause I have a hard time focusing (adhd) but this keeps my attention so well! Thank you for that! I’ve always wanted to read the Harry Potter books and now I can listen to them here!
Only now I decided to finally "read" the book, tbh the movies never were my thing, only the first ones were good, the others so confusing, and I always heard how the books were better and, more importantly, less confusing, searched for a good audiobook and damm, your work is beautifull, takes a lot to decided on a voice to each character, and the edition you made in the end of Voldemort? gave me chills, I was doing my things while listening and had to pause and gasp, beautifull, incredible, amazing, never the same, totally unique. I am so glad I searched until I found you instead of settling for the others, a lot of the videos that popped out in the search were ai voices with little to no edition, anyways, sorry for writting so much, just wanted to show how much I apreciated your work, maked everything so much engaging and fun! :D
Wow thank you so much for the support. The movies are super confusing, they skip over so much and things just happen and if you’ve read the books it’s a little easier to put things together but if you haven’t watching them must have left lots of people just like “um .. wut?” In my recording of the confrontation with Voldemort, as Harry is passing out , the first time his name is called is actually dumbledore calling him, then I imagined it as while dumbledore was calling him in Harry’s mind he started to hear it like his mother calling out to him before she died. In the same way he heard her screaming when the dementors would go after him in book 3
@@StoicJohnson Yw! I'm looking foward to your future projects, and yes, I kinda noticed the mom part, tho did not notice fully the Dumbledore voice until you said it, I totally hear it now! The audio design, the care you take. You are a lovely person. Thank you for your time.
That’s very kind of you to say, 🤗
Thank you for listening ☺️
Aw shucks 🙈🙈☺️
Thank you.
I just saw that you opted not to have commercials interrupting the reading. Better support you a bit then. 😊👍
OMG 🫣🫣 that’s really not necessary. Thank you so so so much. I always get a little flustered when I receive things like this
I enjoy listening to stories as I go to sleep and this is one of the best audios of HP on here. It's not loud or intrusive and it definitely has a soothing quality.
It is so wonderfull how you give life to the characters by using your voice it is such a pleasure to listen to i hope you make much more audiobooks like this thank you sooo much
Thank you so much for listening
Thank you for your readings. I have never been a fan of audio books but my free time has been very sparce recently and listening to a book is better than not reading at all.
Thank you for listening 🤗
This was absolutely incredible!! I was absolutely captivated the whole time. I loved it so much. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
🥹🥹thank you so much, and thank you for taking the time to listen 🤗
Thank you very much for this. English is not my first language but since I am a big fan and have read books in my native language, I understood everything and learned a lot. It was amazing to listen to, I'm really looking forward to the next parts in your rendition.😊

Almost finished the second book now 🤗
Thank you! ❤❤❤❤ I loved everything, the sounds effects, ron sometimes sounded exactly like rupert Grint, which made me do a double take haha 😂, the calmness of your voice while also making it interesting (except McGonnegals outragious voice... sorry 😔😅)

@StoicJohnson I'm sorry for your heartbreak especially right before the holidays. I from personal experience it makes it more difficult. Remember to take care of your needs first before committing to what others request. My heart goes out to you.
Thank you for reading thid book. I've enjoyed it do much.
I just finished this. It is the best audio book I have ever listened to. Thank you, thank you so much. You have a great talent. I can’t wait to listen to the next book!
That can’t be true 🥹🥹, I have so much still to learn.
thank you so so much 🤗
I'm not sucking up...this was the most enjoyable audiobook EVER. I hope you do more, but even if you don't...thank you!❤
thats so nice of you to say, i still have a lot to learn. thank you so much for listening
Dude thank you so much 🥹🥹
Audiobooks can be polarising.
Thanks for listening
Ok, this so epic! Ur voice is amazing and enthusiastic! Omg it’s amazing!!! Thank you so much!

First time listening to a audiobook but this was amazing. Your effort and passion makes the story even more captivating than it already is

So happy I could help 🤗
I listen these for about 4 hours a day it is so helpful when I am bored and your voices are amazing!
I feel spoiled having had this be my first audiobook experience. Thank you for sharing!
I feel honoured for my recording being your first audiobook. Thanks for listening
This is so well done. I enjoy your unique take on the characters. Looking forward to more. 😀
Hermoine goes from talking very fast sharp and condescending , to being a bit more whiny as she’s exasperated from trying to impress people and getting no where and having no friends, to softening and speaking with more care and warmth after being accepted by Harry and Ron
Harry starts nervous and unsure from a lifetime of bullying, to quickly becoming a little enamoured with his own hype and a bit of a show off cos no one ever payed him attention before, he then gets quite cocky and overconfident cos of the way he was revered and his natural aptitude for flying, before being humbled somewhat and his cadence softening in reflection of that
I probably thought about the characters way more than necessary haha but that was how I approached it
@@StoicJohnsonthank you for this! I could tell you took a lot of care in portraying the characters. It's totally worth it. Keep up the great work 👏👏
Well can't improve on this one, so I will agree
Thank you so much

Best Reading ❤ waiting for rest of the books. Thank you so much
Thanks for listening
The movies are super confusing, they skip over so much and things just happen and if you’ve read the books it’s a little easier to put things together but if you haven’t watching them must have left lots of people just like “um .. wut?”
In my recording of the confrontation with Voldemort, as Harry is passing out , the first time his name is called is actually dumbledore calling him, then I imagined it as while dumbledore was calling him in Harry’s mind he started to hear it like his mother calling out to him before she died. In the same way he heard her screaming when the dementors would go after him in book 3
@@StoicJohnson Yw! I'm looking foward to your future projects, and yes, I kinda noticed the mom part, tho did not notice fully the Dumbledore voice until you said it, I totally hear it now! It was a really nice work, a piece of art on itself
Hope you have a good christmas while we are at it (oe any equibalent you celebrate), and a nice new year! ^^

Thanks ☺️, I recorded it as a straight read first and then when I listened to it back I was like “that’s not how the book sounds in my head when I read it” so I had to go back and redo it and it gives it much more energy I think
