Thank you a million times over!!! I have this machine. My right needle thread broke whenever I went over a bump, such as a seam. I had months of angst. My machine’s tension are now set at, from L to R, left needle the line points at the bottom of the 4, right needle at the top of the 5, both loopers the lines point to the elbows of the 4’s. Book was just a suggestion, apparently! Now, thank you, I feel as if I can get more use out of this beast. 🙃🙃
Thank you so much!!!! I keep forgetting, and get a panic attack each time I need to do a new project and rethread and I have as little time as today!!!! It worked lovely!!!
My machine has differencial feed and stitch lenght. In order to set correctly the tensions, what values should I set these 2 knobs before I start trying to set the tensions itself. Or does it make no difference. Thanks.
I have just bought a new serger today (I used to have a brother one years ago). I could NOT get the seam stitch adjusted correctly… I have adjusted so many knobs, only to find it wasn’t through the tension disks. WTH!!!
This was exactly what I needed after threading my serger (not using your video!) and seeing I had a loose seam! Thank you, great videos and looking forward to learning more through them!
I have been sewing since I was 14 and I am now going on 69. I am no beginner. I have owned this machine for 2 years and I hate it. I have spent more time threading and rethreading this machine than I ever have actually using it. Today was the last straw. I put it up in the closet and ordered a Brother.
I just a few weeks ago bought a pro finish serger as well second hand and have just taken it to the repair shop to have new knives and it serviced. Worked perfectly for him. I got it home and the damn thing is wadding up thread again and won't work good for me. Ugh. It's so finicky. I got me a brother and it runs smooth. I'm trying to sell this singer one. The repair dude said wow you got a really nice machine there.
You helped me solve my problem! After numerous troubleshooting videos!! Thank you!!!
