just came in mail this morning and man I can put him down. the plastic is so strong and robust and his size wow . feels like he would cost more than he does. and I love how cartoon accurate he is in both modes . youre gonna love how gorgeous the box is too and it does indeed say buzzing. so I guess they decided on that name. unless haywire is runman. but your review sold me on him and I had to come back to your review because the instructions are not that good lol
This is still a pre-production. I'm just hoping they will do something with the gaps on both sides between the body and the "wings" in alt mode. That will make a ton difference in terms of more appealing and much closer to how g1 blurr looks. As always great review. Thanks Ben.
1 thing that DX9Toys & Unique Toys has on common with this figure: Is that target master that transforms into a gun, which is quite interesting how that worked out.
splendid review and this came out nicely! looking forward to this being in my display. hope the move goes well for you, I'm in the same boat myself, stressful times!!
+Casey280 Yeah i think so , the series three bots all seemed to be quite big , about the same size as the headmasters who in turn were just shy of primes hight
+Benscollectables Right on. Thanks for the reply. I've been holding off on going MP on my Season 3 guys. Mostly have just collected Season 1 & 2 MP's and gone Classics on everything else..... Hmmm, this Blurr is a great price though & looks great.
It looks sweet, but I think I'm going to stick with SXS's Overclocking. I can see some collectors saying, "Um, well they're not even in the same size class- so yeah there's not really a comparison..."- I disagree- I just prefer the beefiness and vehicle mode of Overclocking compared to this- but at the same time I'm sure this will scratch the itch for alot of MP collectors, so good for them. ^_^
What I don't understand is that they send the robot in bot mode in box, but the review is done from vehicle to robot. That's much easier but it would be nice to see you go from robot to vehicle sometimes.
+EJ Allen with early test shots i have no idea what the final factory form comes packaged as.. all of my out of box reviews go from their boxed mode to the alternative mode. With these samples i have to take a wild guess..
the cog comes from G1 Season 3 cartoon where cons stole Metroplex Trans cog to repair tripticon blur and some others had to go to Cyber ton to get him a new one so he could defeat Tripticon
You have the episodes wrong. Blurr and Wheelie were delivering the cog to Metroplex because it was damaged during the battle at Autobot city in the movie. You are referring to when the decepticons stole Metroplex cog and the Autobots stole Trypticons. First Aid realigned the cog in Metroplex to save the day
I am envious of the slow speed of speech you are capable of it sounds great :) Also, this figure is quite nice in robot mode. Vehicle mode doesn't catch my eye, but then again, Blurr's Cybertronian alt mode was never my thing. Also, is there any chance you will get TFC Iron Will? I'm waiting for a good, informative review of him before I decide if he's worthy of robbing my wallet.
I really wanna like him, but there's just too many straight lines in the design where there should be curves. And the lack of wheels irks me. Cars should have wheels. Plastic quality looks damn good though. I like that with Unique Toys and DX9 figures, there's no fear in transforming them.
I can do without the crappy Targetmaster but the figure itself looks amazing. Its definitely Blurr alright. If I do get him he'll look great on my shelf next to Fanstoys Hot Rod and MP Ultra Magnus. Now can somebody make a worthy MP Arcee, Kup and Springer please.
Have you heard about the Delicate Warrior Arcee? It looks amazing (except for the 80s fist hands) and even has die cast metal parts. The blue bead stand is a bit...odd. But otherwise...pretty awesome toy. To date, its the BEST version of Arcee, and just BLOWS away even the Takara United (Generations) version. Poses well with masterpiece. Just be sure to NOT get the Valkyrie by Impossible toys by mistake. The box is similar, but the toys themselves are completely different. Valkryie is an abomination-an absolute horrid toy. Be sure to buy the Delicate Warrior, this Not-Arcee is amazing, EXCELLENT quality and the best MP-ish Arcee to date.
Another great review but I must disagree: the robot mode is gorgeous but the alt mode is clunky and uninspired. Looks nothing like a streamlined future racer. Will wait for better.
WOW, this guy wasn't on my radar, but I am really liking him! I'm a G1 fan and this checks all the boxes for me!
yep.that black accessory he comes with certainly looks like metroplex transformation cog to me too.☺
+monkeybubbles YES IT IS !!
+DragonboxCollectables though so.makes a nice little addition.☺
Love the G1 Episode....about that !!
+DragonboxCollectables liked that episode too.
YES, Masterpiece Springer please! His car mode is so naff, we need one that resembles his cartoon appearance.
He looks to be as close to perfect then you can get.
Very good review as all ways, and a spot on blurr, defiantly going to add this guy to my collection

As always great review. Thanks Ben.
He looks fantastic!
I was just *this* close to get Overclocking...just scrapped that idea for this guy

Looks pretty good. Good review as usual
Good review. Looks like we have another case of a upscaled classics figure being passed off as a masterpiece to cash in on the MP craze.
Is this figure supposed to be a updated Toy only, mixed Toy& Toon, or just a Toon only update version of a MP Blurr??
yea it's the transformation cog for metroplex
hmmm....Masterpiece-style Blurr? Yeeeeeeeeeessss...
splendid review and this came out nicely! looking forward to this being in my display.
hope the move goes well for you, I'm in the same boat myself, stressful times!!
Thanks Ben for another great review. I was surprised by how tall he was in bot mode. He towers over MP Sideswipe! Is that about right in your opinion?
+Casey280 Yeah i think so , the series three bots all seemed to be quite big , about the same size as the headmasters who in turn were just shy of primes hight

Figure looks great - but yes, my firsy reaction also was that he was way too big for mp..
Sparkplug also just vanished from the show. I am very impressed with this figure, is he cheaper than Overclocking ore more expensive?.
I like this great review man how u do this without instructions is amazing man great job
the gun splits because it combines with the targetmaster to make a long rifle :-)
+Kevin Gray legend
+Benscollectables
Why not do a quick update video on that
As g1hexatron says third party masterpiece style figures are only on my shelves to keep dust off my shelves till the real ones are made
Almost 4 years after this video was made, I ordered my copy on eBay for $70.
Beautiful Bot!

My bad u r correct thanks, I knew the cog had something to do with blur though
I've seen him listed as both Runman and Buzzing.... is there virtually any difference? Or all the same toy?
Same toy , they just changed his name that's all ;)
I am envious of the slow speed of speech you are capable of it sounds great :) Also, this figure is quite nice in robot mode. I hope that Kup is there next figure.
Rebirth baby!!
Ben how does the plastic feel? High quality?
Yes buddy it's top notch
PLEASE RESPOND what do you use for your background
He uses Mechanical Chain Bases.
Everything is great, except for the silver square on the waist. That piece in robot and vehicle mode never had a silver square on it.
I think that thing is the transforming cog
thanks Ben
Does it come with a stand?
No it's doesn't , I used tracks stand
I really wanna like him, but there's just too many straight lines in the design where there should be curves. And the lack of wheels irks me. Cars should have wheels.

+Parc Elohssa I've heard of it before but never really bothered looking into it. will do it. thanks for the info.
Another great review but I must disagree: the robot mode is gorgeous but the alt mode is clunky and uninspired. Looks nothing like a streamlined future racer. Will wait for better.
awesome review Ben just not my cup of tea. something about the alt mode just bothers me also he is really tall
That's why I'm here man :) if I can someone buy or pass I've done my job
