Heres the issue, this is a battle, you need a wide range of ideas and concepts along with musicality, technique, power and story telling and FLOW, when it comes to this type of battle style,its formulated for the flexxing dance style, arsenal was better suited for this, he just felt more prepared and understood what he was getting into this is more of his element, fikshun has a solid performance quality along with agility, technique and speed, with the balance, he understands how to perform, but hes not much of a story teller and has limited characters he uses when he performs, not to say he cant do other characters this was the element that created a clear difference in approach within each dancer, its just that in this sort of battle you can see where peoples comfort zones are. this battle was 🔥 and both did what they needed to do, i just think the pressure was different for both of them as well, fikshun has been doing his thing in battles forsure so its not like hes new to it but this structure is it just a new lane to learn and explore, things are about to get crazier for them, and its dope to watch. Arsenal looked very comfortable in his style and has a high vocabulary of movement types in his bag, shit was dope!
When the bar is getting this high man nobody can even say it's cus so and so didn't do this or that. Sometimes you coulda been solid and simply just got outdone by your opponent. 🤷🏽♀️ I think ars took it and those rounds woulda been major against anyone
@@tabhou7988 aye i most definitely agree with you, i guess i was just trying to share that theres more to battling than people think, so when they question why things go the way they go, here are somethings to consider as well. You more than correct tho these dancers are now at a level that is just hard to match, we gotta respect it for what it is, you can still be great and lose, and im just happy that these type of battles are being shown and broadcasted to the world. It was a blessing to be able to witness dance like this in the past, you would have to physically be there to see it.
@@teamtaka7 But you have to admit, Fik shun did run out of moves by the end of the battle, seemed gassed, was doing way too many resets and throwing in moves from past battles, which made it feel too similar, though the tehnique and control was always there, I feel like because all his rounds started looking and feeling the same for me, that it lost that initial wow factor for me, thats just me though. Still a fan of him though, been following Fik's dance journey for years, think he's definitely leveling up. Just think he should take a break from all the back to back battles, he already showed that he can hang with the big dogs in the scene. Just gotta take your time and grind, all the practice is paying off and showing, just needa keep collecting new material to use to his newly leveled up style 💪 Meanwhile Ars is just too cold. Man always has something fresh he has in the pocket to use, so I feel like its already impressive enough to even be getting to battle him. All those concepts are next level, so win or lose, I feel even getting to see him do his thing will elevate anyone in the same ring as him 👀

It was ok but I kinda felt like they was hypeing him up a little bit.if you don't believe me just watch the round with the volume off , to be honest he was a little all over the place . I'll give it to ,that is was new yeah but a masterpiece , you're over exaggerating a little too much. It was creative and that's about it, I didn't see no crazy dance moves like that there dancer did

However its his other rounds to me that were more all over the place. They overhyped him with a passion and didn't give Fikshun his props at all. His moves were overall better in my opinion.

In my opinion dancers like Paradox and Skitzo are way better dancers and battlers than dancers like Fikshun, Kida, Havoc and Arsenal, and they don’t have enough recognition, and I guarantee that along with other great dancers they would beat Fikshun’s crew. But I understand what your saying and I love them as well, but in my opinion most of them have more clout than skill, Fikshun is the only dancer among that crew I would say is at world level. So I rest my case that criminalz are arguably one of the top best, they have set so many records like 12-0, 11-1, 12-0, 12-1 against a lot of countries, and I can’t see that dream crew getting close to beating them. But like I said, I love all those dancers and they are special in their own way.

Wether they like it or not, and they are up there for a reason, you can clearly see the big difference in levels, Les Twins and CC are on a whole nother level compared to most dancers and specially american dancers.
I ain't gone lie, and I hate to say it but fikshun got exposed. Metal was right about him lacking vocabulary, it doesn't show so well when his opponent isn't that good or they are lacking in vocabulary too but it was really noticeable here. His pure ability to dance will always take him deep into the top of battles but eventually everyone notices the consistent patterns of his dance style. I mean, he tries using props but the dance concept doesn't fit the prop at all. Lol. Fikshun honestly got demolished man. There's really no excuse. I wasn't really feeling Arsenal when he faced slavik, but seeing this battle I'm glad he advanced because his timing was far better and he's a much better fluent dancer than I realized. With the right timing dude's the full package no doubt.

Amazing battle, I follow fikshun and I feel this was not his best but man arsenal that was some amazing puppet dance in the first round no doubt arsenal killed it.

But since arsenal took storytelling to another level , people are becoming hypocritical and saying how storytelling is crucial. I respect and salute both for an amazing battle even tho Ars took this.

YO real talk that first round arsenal was so real. the string technique was too good. definitely had round 1, round 2 fikshun was on point and had me going, and round 3 arsenal had everything on point. That was outstanding! I must confess, I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff. I saw Fikshun on So You Think You Can Dance and I've been watching videos from him the past few days. My favorite dancer is Poppin' John. He's got the best foot and ankle articulation and control I've ever seen. He is popping from his head to his little toe. This brings me to this video, however. I have never heard of Arsenal. He and Fikshun were doing a different type of dance I'm not familiar with. Arsenal's Joker/puppet dance was creepy, wicked, twisted, aggressive, scary, and utterly sick. I didn't think dance could ever convey this kind of dark space in the head. Wow, I hope Arsenal doesn't stop there. I think he just uncovered another part of the human psyche. Why can't dance go to this dark place more often? We are in a world of war, murder, hunger, homelessness, struggle, and suffering. Why can't dance tell this story? Arsenal's interpretation is something I'll never forget.
This was the battle I was looking forward to seeing the most, one excels in technique while the other excels in concepts. Round 1: Arsenal(concept defeated technique) Round 2: Fikshun(like the first round, it was a case where technique overpowered concept) Round 3: Arsenal(I was leaning towards a tie at first but after a few more watches it seems to me like Arsenal slightly edged it) All in all the battle was great, the energy was right, both of them pulled their own weight.
I can agree with what u saying but. When i view dancing thats what i view it as dance and i cant say arsenal danced better but i can say he had the better show. Imagine what fikshun would have done with the string puppet shyt 😲 😱 . But he didnt. But i got fikshun winning off of dancing alone. And arsenal was the better entertainer

This isn’t a battle this is a showcase. Dancers know the songs and they have moves planed out it’s seems. The whole purpose of a battle is to showcase ones skill vs the others skill in a raw setting. Where everything is raw. You don’t know what song is coming you some come. Fik- shun seems to be the only one doing things on the spot.

I gotta say tie overall. Arsenal's first round was a good performance, but obviously it was choreographed beforehand with the prop so first round I gotta give it to Fik shun. Both were about the same in the second round. But Arsenal killed it in the third round.
Arsenal's Creativity is unmatched. Last year's KOTS with the NASA Concept & this year with the Puppet Round smh, that boy good. Fikshun did a hell of a job this year coming onto the BattleFest platform for the first time. Judges def got this right tho. I say Arsenal took 1st, Fikshun edged 2nd, & Arsenal took the 3rd.
Fikshun is a pure dancer and what he does no body can do , he picked every beat in any of his performance , and that's what a dancer is all about , and what arsenal did was a bunch of tik tok moves , just because of some story and dialogue in his act , doesn't mean that he is a good dancer , Fikshun is recognised by the whole world for his dancing and clean dancing no flaw whenever you watch his performance , Real king Fikshun no doubt . And the whole competition is BS..

Love Fikshun but Arsenal tells a story (usually a dark one) and using different type styles (all while disrespecting his opponent) Both are great entertainers but the showmanship & creativity gives Arsenal the edge for me.
These 2 battlers are my top favorites ... I will have to admit FikShun is great but Arsenal took it to the next level, even by him changing outfits in all 3 rounds to go with each different music also with switching his music 3-4 times in his 3rd round which to be honest was the TKO !!! I still will continue to watch them both ... everybody has to lose 🥈every once in a while to learn from that moment and win again💯

I believe dance is an expression of who you are but there are ways to use dance for storytelling , and Arsenal did just that.
Wanna know what’s funny? During the Caleb and Havoc battle , people were knocking fikshun for storytelling. But since arsenal took storytelling to another level , people are becoming hypocritical and saying how storytelling is crucial. I respect and salute both for an amazing battle even tho Ars took this.

YO real talk that first round arsenal was so real. the string technique was too good. definitely had round 1, round 2 fikshun was on point and had me going, and round 3 arsenal had everything on point. He knew where to hit.

Anyway...I think Arsenal DEFINITELY took the First Round. But I believe the rest of the Rounds were a DRAW. That First Round basically decided the Battle. Fikshun actually DANCED better. That was outstanding! I must confess, I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff. I saw Fikshun on So You Think You Can Dance and I've been watching videos from him the past few days. My favorite dancer is Poppin' John. He's got the best foot and ankle articulation and control I've ever seen. He is popping from his head to his little toe. This brings me to this video, however. I have never heard of Arsenal. He and Fikshun were doing a different type of dance I'm not familiar with. Arsenal's Joker/puppet dance was creepy, wicked, twisted, aggressive, scary, and utterly sick. I didn't think dance could ever convey this kind of dark space in the head. Wow, I hope Arsenal doesn't stop there. I think he just uncovered another part of the human psyche. Why can't dance go to this dark place more often? We are in a world of war, murder, hunger, homelessness, struggle, and suffering. Why can't dance tell this story? Arsenal's interpretation is something I'll never forget.
This was the battle I was looking forward to seeing the most, one excels in technique while the other excels in concepts.
Round 1: Arsenal(concept defeated technique)
Round 2: Fikshun(like the first round, it was a case where technique overpowered concept)
Round 3: Arsenal(I was leaning towards a tie at first but after a few more watches it seems to me like Arsenal slightly edged it)
All in all the battle was great, the energy was right, both of them pulled their own weight.
I can agree with what u saying but. When i view dancing thats what i view it as dance and i cant say arsenal danced better but i can say he had the better show. This isn’t a battle this is a showcase. Dancers know the songs and they have moves planed out it’s seems. The whole purpose of a battle is to showcase ones skill vs the others skill in a raw setting. Where everything is raw. You don’t know what song is coming you some come. Fik- shun seems to be the only one doing things on the spot.

When I saw at the end of the second round, FIK SHUN took the lamp, I saw that he felt he entered the ring with nothing.
I gotta say tie overall. Arsenal's first round was a good performance, but obviously it was choreographed beforehand with the prop so first round I gotta give it to Fik shun. Both were about the same in the second round. But Arsenal killed it in the third round.

These 2 battlers are my top favorites ... I will have to admit FikShun is great but Arsenal took it to the next level, even by him changing outfits in all 3 rounds to go with each different music also with switching his music 3-4 times in his 3rd round which to be honest was the TKO !!!
