OMG I still love that Moroccan collection Galliano did for Givenchy pret a porter. I think it was 1997 or 1996? So amazing and wearable to this day!

And no doubt Galliano was a genius but what he always did was bring back esthetic from the past and make it teatrical. That was great but the point of fashion nowadays is moving forward and present something totally wearable yet artistic based on certain research in order to develop a new proposal for a fashion how. That's what Maria Grazia is doing right now. reinventing Dior and its DNA.

Very poorly filmed. I understand the smoke for atmosphere, but it's totally hampering the appreciation of the clothes, since you can't see all of them clearly. Kind of defeats the purpose.

A beautiful, classy and extremely wearable collection. Each dress/ensemble as beautiful as the next. Exquisite fabrics that fit each piece perfectly. I loved EVERYTHING!!!!!! Kudos all around!!!!!!!

Oh wow, what a beautiful collection as well as presentation! In a older interview I saw Carolina Herrera when doing a fashion show in Mexico City stated that although she saw the beauty in the craft of the local garments she thought that it could all look very Folkloric. However, I always imagined what will an international designer do with fabrics that had a specific look(I guess you can say with a Folkloric flare) and it seems as Maria Grazia did exactly that for Dior.
Like not to be any type of way. Though I feel most of these big name houses like Dior and Chanel, haven’t had anything genuinely groundbreaking in years. I love couture and the houses, but it seems everything in fashion for the last few years has been boring. Not to mention the over consumption of clothing and small amount of demand for it.
And I’m never the type of person to rant on the internet, but it just confuses me. Like???

Absolutely loving the earthy colors that suit all of the models' complexions and the clothes are wearable on any body. Love the runway but it's hard to see all of the clothes piece by piece because it's so large but I love the setting atmosphere.
Maria Grazia understands textiles and prints...and its clear that she understands commercialism....but she needs to expand her catalogue of shape and proportion. I realize that she's completely lost the educated TH-cam audience, but if she made a bit of an effort to be a bit more experimental, she may just save an ounce of Dior.

I am ROFL!!! I couldn't put my finger on what I was seeing but you worded it dead on! I personally would wear some of those drapes if i had the coin for it. Otherwise, I borrow from some of the proportions and sew my own pieces with other fabrics, not drapes though.

The atmosphere and the collection is so unique😍 I was at Palais El Badi in Marrakech two weeks ago, if I had know that Dior was coming I would have definitely stay to be part of this experience!
Not trying to hate on MGC but I'm so tired of all these A-line dresses each season. THAT'S ENOUGH ALREADY. Like she honestly can't design any other silhouette.

Sarah D at least Raf made a huge impact of growing Dior sales and introduced best seller bags and sunnies for the least not to mention other things. What did Maria do? Brought Valentino with her and brought back the saddle back? The only good thing she did is re introducing coma heels and that is not even her creation.

Moca 12 girl, my favourite hobby was to play dress up at Dior’s boutique!! And now all I see is boring colours, tribal prints and machine embroidery, classic repetitive cuts. Where are those lovely colours? The embellishments? The flattering cuts and edgy silhouettes that flatter the body? Whenever I visit the boutique 1-2 pieces max interest me but not good enough to invest in them; not worth the price tag. I’d rather spend that price on a nicer Chanel jacket, nicer Louis Vuitton dress like every time I do. Maria is not the right fit for Dior, simply put, she doesnt understand the Dior woman that well.
Sarah D hah no one brought the fact that she's a woman here now and i couldnt careless about who's the designer. As a client all i care about is how relevant the product is to me. No she didnt invent the coma heels its Roger Vivier who invented it when he was designing in Dior and became his brand and Dior's signature heel all she did was just bringing back a signature from the archive and its a goodjob. Second of all whoever complains Raf's minimalism is obviously a huge fan of Galliano's rich work but then again lets speak as clients. Who would wear Galliano's gowns or pieces? And how outdated they are now. Yes back in the days were gorg but way too outdated. Whilst Raf's for Dior are still wearable, iconic and are often copied and occasion and translated in huge increases in their revenues and HE chose to leave the house because of pressure not that the house fired him for his works. Third of all i must remind u that Dior was a minimalist and had always credited the designer he worked with for teaching him about the beauty of simplicity so what minimalism nose youre speaking of?! Girl speak loud if you are an actual Dior client who buys one season after another from Dior's RTW dont just point things out when u dont even wear the stuff because only Raf's designs were truly relevant to clients ;/ fourth of all the saddle bag is a failure they had to distribute it for 40 IG influencers to promote it so what success is this? Yes back in the day it was a success but hello its 2019 and that bag looks outdated af.

good Batik looks...I felt the solid black items were totally out of place...however the solids in colors of cinnabar/browns did work. The venue/and visuals were effective however lighting these huge spaces is a challenge and this show didnt make a good showing w/lighting..i get where they were going but overall to anyone who is not present the show was smoldered over and the clarity of the items was diminished..............overall good show...very breezy and light for resort wear.
JUST SAY IT THE SHOW SUCKED ASS.

the diversity of the model casting is definitely very now and international, but if the clothes are just what we've seen (and probably worn) already, just made in rich fabrics, i dont see how this is inspiring and pushing the fashion forward as a major high fashion house like dior
