- How to Make Powerful Hydraulic Press
In this video I show you how to make powerful hydraulic press. You need wood, 4 syringes, pipes and glass with water. All needed measurments you can find in the video. As result this press can easily crack any type of nuts, crush soda can and much more!

you know the best part about this? It shows you pretty much the basic concept of crafting this thing to the point where you could make one as powerful and a strong out of as many materials as you would like. It pretty much gives you a blueprint model to do this with anything.

Love it some others are making it with a 2 syringe setup and one tube but thats much more difficult to use as it doesnt utilize principles such as work multiplication

Not much since the syringe is plastic and is unable to hold much pressure

probably less than my someone stomping on it
I would surprised if it could handle more than 300 pounds because the fluid starts by passing the diaphragm. if you used and actual oil of some kind with some viscosity to it then your limit would be the strength of the plastic although it wouldn't last long because the oil could degrade the plastic so you might want to try something like honey or a bottle of pepto. food grade stuff you know. I think the pistons would snap long before the cylinders cracked so just buy one of those syringes and stand up the plunger by itself and keep putting weight on it until it snaps and then you'll have your answer.

The wooden piece that is glued to the four syringes could have been as wide as the space between the walls because then the crushing force would have been more stable and not "wiggle". With more stability You will gain a lot more even force on the object being crushed and the press will not break as easily. just my humble opinion...

Maybe, but if it were that big, it might jam up against the sides, I'd think. Adding some lubricated metal guide rods might solve that though.
Yes that would do it - and also make sure that You distribute the force from the syringes evenly on the pressure plate, i.e. place them close to the corners of the plate instead of in the middle.

This is very simple and straight forward... maybe it is just me... but the “one way valve” is just two syringes with the tips cut off with a plastic bb in it. It is called a one way check valve. It allows flow upwards in this case because gravity is holding down the bb just enough. It does not allow flow back through because gravity and the pressure of the fluid wanting to go back is holding the bb on the opening. But overall this whole thing is pretty much useless because it will take a long time to crush the item and still will require a lot of force (because you are pushing on a very small volume of fluid) with the four other cylinders it allows for 1/4 the force to push but takes 4x as long. And still a lot if force. I could do the math but it is not even worth it.

How could liquid have so much power, just incredible.
Liquid doesn't compress like air. Notice there are 4 syringes on the press and 1 syringe pumping. That means for every 10mm the pump pumps the 4 syringes move 2.5mm. It just quadrupled his input energy. Hydraulics are flicking awesome.
