Well explained and demonstrated. The Kaisetsu is conclusive.

Thank you Mike. This is just 10 minutes from the 2 hours on Saturday. Every single minute was of this high quality and intensity, so there may be more videos on this great kata. Coming this week will be a kata only version with some excellent insights into how the kata should look but more importantly feel. Thanks again for your comments and support.

Thank you for sharing such in depth quality. I studied Wado Ryu in the 70/80s and early 90s. There was little or no application to kata back then London and Dorset. I always enjoyed the subtle bio mechanics and efficiency of Wado Ryu. You get this across well in your videos. I got caught up in the competitive side of karate, but later realised that much was lost on that path. I have continued to study karate all my life and now mid 60s and still enthusiastically teaching. I studied a Chinese grappling version of Naihanchi.
    Where do teach/based Simon?

Hello Ian, thank you for your comment. This is Sensei Roger Vickerman shown in this video, who is based in the West Midlands. He started training in Wado Ryu in the 1970s and studied at the Temple Dojo with Toru (Sensei Takamizawa). Sensei Vickerman is now part of the Wado Academy under Hanshi Shiomitsu and continues to teach and explore the true principles of Wado Ryu.
Good luck with your continued training, if you are back in the UK, please look us up.
You may also enjoy the many more videos of Sensei Vickerman on this channel too.

Simon Sheridan Karate - thank you 🙏. I realised it was Roger after I posted. I remember the Temple Club. When I moved from London I trained in Poole. That club was Toru’s Tera organisation and he would come down to teach and grade. I live in Cornwall now, but will make contact and hope to train up there when I visit my son in that area. Great videos. Thank you for your efforts.
