The mother deserves an "at-a-boy" for following through with some tough love. No parent wants to make a choice to send their kid to jail but this was small enough to hopefully teach the daughter that choices have consequences... and without too heavy of a sentence. Hope she learns something.

Yes, but she should have had it long before this. I always told my kids that if they did something so stupid they ended up in jail, don't bother calling me to bail them out. Because momma isn't coming. You just need to sit in there and think long and hard about what you did to deserve to be put in jail. Needless to say, my kids never ended up in jail. They knew momma was SERIOUS. I would NOT come bail them out.

She was more loyal to her criminal boyfriend than her own mom. Yikes. Talk about desperate for some D. I'm assuming the mom helped her with bond but honestly should've left her so she gets a good consequence experience. I don't think she can be trusted again despite how desperate the mom may want that because she betrayed her mom in a big way here (and continued even when both mom and Steve gave her chance after chance to own up to what she knew) so she's capable of worse. She needs more tough love now.

oh that happens a lot sadly. I saw judge mathis where the woman, when pregnant, was mad at her mom for calling the police to arrest her abusive boyfriend. Relationships are usually a bad gamble.

I doubt her mom helped her with bail because she had her arrested as she should have! She got with a crook & was probably a good kid until then. He looks a lot older than her too. Hopefully she's learned her lesson.

I assume that you don't have any children, it's awful what the daughter did but what parent wants to see their kids in prison as a mother I would have done the same thing, after all we have all done stupid things when we were young however I think the daughter has probably learnt her lesson

That man knew exactly what he was doing. Being institutionalized for so long and coming out with nothing. You need to find some security blanket. He fed that girl a bunch of lies and he did what he did best. And she was so brainwashed by him bc she's probably insecure and he made her believe that he loved her. She did everything she could to keep that. Sadly it hurt her mother along the way. She couldn't even break her poker face long enough to apologize or cry or anything. Kudos to her mom for standing up for herself. Hopefully they regain their relationship and her daughter should stay single for a while and really think about what's good for her instead of what's convenient and give in to the first guy to show her attention. That was one hell of a learning experience.

I honestly didn't think he did it... until I heard that he and his girlfriend "coincidentally" appeared at the bank at the same time the check is missing.
I would never steal from my mama, shoot, my mama knows that I'd give her my last dollar if she needed it, and I wouldn't look for her to pay me back. I don't care what the amount is.

Edith should have left her in there. IF she didn't bail her out, she should have said "Let's go for a ride to celebrate.", taken her back to the Prison and said "I don't know who bailed this Lady out, she is going back in to Jail and not come out until Her sentence is done. Whomever did this, tell them to mind their own business.".
I have very little empathy for Edith as she is telling Ashley "It's okay." when she full well knows it is not "okay".

I did the same thing to my mother and she had me arrested. I went to jail a number of times. Once for the crime itself and once for a violation. It took many years to rebuild our relationship but I can say we are closer now than we ever were before. I had to learn my lesson the hard way and I hope that girl had some time to think about her actions while she was sitting in that cell. I’ve been sober since August 2019. What a struggle. 16 years of addiction. Kids, don’t do drugs. Don’t ever try them or give in to peer pressure. I don’t care what people say, marijuana IS a gateway drug.

She seems to have came out of it, she dropped the friends, said they were kinda mean and bullying her. Hopefully it was a teenage phase and stays in the past! At the time I cut her off, no money or favours and I didn't speak to her unless I had to. She was quick to realize how much she needs me. Like I told her friends will come and go, I'm the one that will always be here in her corner.

For a check that more than likely she received the money back for? Using that logic tickets or a moving violation should be a good five years in prison or at least two.
@@AllHailKingRose when you are on probation or parole and you violate it and get arrested you are put in jail for the original and the new charges. Say you got out of prison after 25 years for robbing a bank while armed but your original sentence was 50 years but let our early. When on parole if the person steals a candy bar and is arrested they are facing the rest of their original sentence.

What my aunt did to my late grandpa. He had dementia and didn't even know. He died in diet because of the loans he took out for her, His last act was to hide money. I took his room after his death. Then found 140 ish. He said he didn't want to die with no a penny in his wallet. At least he got his wish. Been ten years and I still miss him.
