I don't know if I'll ever own a car like this but you sure gave some valuable information. The mpg would be nice. I commented 2 days ago but I deleted it and replaced it with this one.
@@323Fabrication just remember. Cheapest quick reflexes handy. Hard drive Ford Super duty and this other lady who drove one had these words of advice. It wasn't 2 weeks later I don't think before I put them to the test. That truck of yours put you above to kill line. I give you one example of what you meant. About 2 weeks later semi come flying down inside my truck at 80 mi an hour. That was around 3 months ago. Glad to be here enable to reply 👍
If you are going to haul a lot of tools and things around i would highly recommend changing the front and rear springs to the jetta wagon springs and installing the 2 in lift kit while your at it. Its around $300 for both from kerma tdi. My car has this done (03 jetta sedan) the only thing i have noticed was the little bit of body roll in hard corners. ECS tuning has strut stabilizers to fix this for $100. You will not regret it. Enjoy your mk4!!!!
That would be awesome! I’m gonna do the timing belt kit next on the list. Then I’ll look into maybe a tune, but I will add this to the want list as well. I’d love a little bit of lift we have a rough dirt road for a driveway. I scored a set of roof bars the other day off market place. I love this MK4! Thanks for tuning in!
Look at the diesel geek shifter bushing kit and the panzer skid plate. Bushing kit is a pain to install but worth it. I completely removed the shifter housing. Comes out the bottom of car. Skid plate is amazing. Ive already hit hard enough to bust my oil pan twice. I live down 4 miles if dirt road. All it did to the skid plate was 2 small scratches!!! Also DO NOT buy a cheep timing belt kit!!! Use a gates or continental.
Awesome. I’ve got an 05 bew wagon with 235k km’s. Got it at 205 in January completely stock and now it’s got a gutted cat, disabled EGR and flaps and tuned. I have that shitty 09m 5 speed auto as well. Did all the fluids, trans got flushed twice as it was never done before and shifts improved. Power steering fluid was the colour of the oil lol. Also added a head unit for Bluetooth and metal skid plate as it snows a lot up here in Canada with tons of road debris. How are you liking the car so far ?
That’s fantastic! I’d love to have a wagon, this cars doing great so far! Starting to be slow to shift into drive when you first fire it up but if it idles for a few minutes it’s fine, gonna take it to the shop and check my fluid level this week. But I absolutely LOVE the car! Pretty much all I drive now unless I need my truck. I just bought a couple ALH MK4s ones clean with a 5 speed and the other a parts car. I plan to do the timing belt on the BEW and after that I’ll fix the ALH and give the BEW to the wife to daily.
@@323Fabrication Sounds like a good plan, I gotta find a used 5 speed to swap then it’ll be amazing, nothing like a 1.9 TDI paired with the manual. My dads got the mk6 2L CJAA TDI golf with the 6 speed manual deleted and it’s just unbelievable to drive. 1000+ km’s per tank. I also have a 2010 x5 35d fully deleted but have an injector issue with it. Good luck with your ALH
I have the same engine. It’s on 220k I just noticed a sticker saying timing belt replaced at 85k. Do you think it needs changing? It still pulls like a train
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ I'm not a fan of anything foreign but it's always interesting to see what you're up to Chris. I'm a shady shade tree mechanic also 😂 I learned as I go along, most of the time 😜 well it looks like you're successful, the old VW sounds okay 👍 I'm hoping the transmission turns out just as well for you buddy. I'm very disappointed to see your shiny ass bald head 😂 just messing with you 😉 I'm sure your venture into rental properties will be a complete success, just as your automotive ventures have been. Keep up the great work and may God bless you and your family ✌️🇺🇲
Good morning sir and I understand but it’s hard to argue with the fuel mileage and I hope to make bio diesel to run it on one day. Thanks again! God bless you and have a good one 🤙
No worries, I replaced the reverse solenoid only in another video I’ll post. That fixed it but then it quit shifting past second gear. So I went back and replaced them all. About $300 and she’s good to go

The mpg is nice for sure, I spend 20 bucks a week on fuel vs 100 bucks a week before

I’ll def get a good timing belt kit but I don’t think the shifter bushing thing is for an auto?
@@323Fabrication no it is not i do apologize.
@randyjoeb7811 no worries

@arfetherussian that sounds like an awesome ride! Thank you I appreciate it!
I have a BEW as well but a golf, I was wondering if you could possibly send a link of where you got the delete kit
velocitytitan.com/products/04-05-vw-beetle-golf-jetta-egr-block-off-delete-kit-anodized-plate-generic?_pos=1&_sid=974e18a33&_ss=r
Will it roll coal?
Just a hair when you first hammer on it and then it cleans up. I want to tune it just haven’t yet
Lame
For that egr delete kit did u need a tune ???
No you don’t need a tune, just means the check engine light will be on for the EGR
@ ok thx
@kylevansickle5843 no problem

Yes I think it needs changing. It’s suppose to be every 5 years or 80k miles. The kits about $300 bucks and way cheaper than a new engine
