It’s the Con-es-toga River. I lived in Lancaster (and it’s pronounced Lanc-kiss-ter) for about 14 years. Great place, but after a while, there’s not much 😂 I could be biased 😄 glad you enjoyed your visit! And when you went to the car wash, you were about 5 minutes from my old house! 😄

I always love driving around Lancaster County, although it’s been years since my last trip there. On the road from the highway to my stepsister’s house, there is a harness and buggy shop next door to an auto repair shop. The last time I was there, it was laundry day, and most of the houses had their clothes either strung up on long lines going from the house to a pole in the yard, or, if they were in town, on lines strung up the length of their porches. The stores there are all great, too! We stopped at a quilt store and got the only item I could afford, a quillow (small quilt that folds into a pillow).
Lancaster County is where my great grandfather Newell was raised after his mother died giving birth on board the ship coming over from Ireland. It is a nice looking place!
I must've been having too much fun, this video went by way too fast.😂 I am glad Ms. Memphis got an eyeful of cows and horses, she looked happy to see them.

Memphis wants to the horses. Out on Long Island there are 2 homes built in 1625 one is British the other is Dutch. Historical Society owns it. Alot of corn fields, which I grew up with on Long Island. Joan ❤❤❤

The term PA Dutch come from an misunderstand of Deutsch aka. German. German was the historical language of most Amish. Non-Amish are called English b/c that the language and theoretical from England. That's why PA resident eat 10x more pretzels then anywhere else in US. Also, in all likelihood, your pretzels were made in PA. I love Lancaster Co backroads! Such a wonderful drive. Lancaster used to be a MAJOR connection between Philly and out west. The only road to the West went through there. Also, it was once the US capital for a day during the Revolutionary War.

9:31 - Miller best known for the Restaurant ( the Breakfest Buffet was amazing)- The best part was the Cinnamon Raisin Iced Bread!!! ( I haven't been there for years) Makes me hungry for the Cinnamon Bread ) I use to eat at there Restaurant all the time growing up - Next month when I go to Lancaster for work Im stopping there

I always said Pennsylvania should change the welcome signs here to Welcome to Pennsylvania the state of never ending and constant road construction lol. Here in Allentown & surrounding area we have a few covered bridges still standing. One is ten minutes from me in the Lehigh Parkway...it is closed to cars only people can walk over it.

Actually guys, I don't think the animals pulling the plow were Horses, I think they were Mules. I went to Lancaster County, PA, Amish Country a couple of times when I was still living in N.J., mostly on weekend tourist bus trips, and mostly when The Amish are plowing fields, if they're not using Oxen to pull the plow, they're using Mules, mostly that they've bred & raised themselves.
Oh yeah we saw some mules as well, and some horses and some cows! And chickens!
