It’s crazy coming back to this song 12 years later and reflecting on each time I would put it on when I was going thru something. Keeping a strong mindset helped me get thru all the dark times and I’m grateful and proud of where I’m at now
This song is the creamiest of all J Cole's songs for me.... I discovered it 7 years ago back when I was in my mid collage years going through a lot of shit, experiencing the impacts of my parents' divorce at the same at the time... It gave me hope and strength to focus and finish my degree. Thankfully I finished my degree but still life hasn't turned out the way I planned it, 5 years later after college still haven't landed my first job for the profession i studied just stuck on a dead-end general job that isn't in line with my profession I studied. Early this morning i just got robbed of my phone and some cash on my way to work. But here I am back listening to this song because it always gives me hope to keep on fighting on matter how bad and dark things are in my life.
I’m going thru the toughest lesson in my life right now, so I also came back here for guidance. I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s seeks j.cole’s old music therapeutic. God bless everyone.

Cole is no doubt in my mind the best rapper, producer and writer. I love when i discover his tracks. His music is so consistent, he rhymes his stories and poetically describes a story that everyone can relate to.
It’s a trip, been listening to this man’s music since I was 12 and now I’m 28 still anticipating more albums from him. I knew he was my favorite rapper but I never thought he’d be one of the goats. Im so happy to see I was wrong🙏🏽
