can I draw pole figures with an empyrean? knowing that I only have a 1D detector? as well as for the study of residual stresses?

You can in theory, but different sample stages can be helpful. You can perform omega residual stress measurements using a reflection/transmission/spinner stage, but it is often better/easier to perform chi stress measurements using a sample stage that also allows for chi rotation (such as the chi-phi-Z stage). Regarding pole figures, the only way I have performed this is on a system that allows for both chi and phi rotation.
What samples stages do you have?

@@IAMMDiffractionFacility Indeed, to make residual stress measurements, we have a reflection/transmission/spinner stage, but it doesn't allow us to tilt or rotate, we can just manually vary the displacement in the XY plane. I don't know if we can acquire this chi-phi-Z stage to mount it on our empyrean? so even for polar figures, the only way to make them is to have this chi-phi-Z stage?
tomorrow i will send you by email, the image of our reflection/transmission/spinner stage. as well as the other accessories bought with the diffractometer, and you will be able to judge the operations that we will be able to carry out. thank you

Malvern Panalytical would be able to give you better advice as to what is possible with the hardware you have, but I would be happy to take a look and see what you have. For pole figures though, the only way I know how to do it is with something like a chi-phi-Z. It may be possible if you had a nice 2D detector and could set up a transmission experiment, but that would likely require a lot of additional hardware (again, Malvern Panalytical would be a good source of information for that).

i would like to thank you for this video. and i would like you to make a video on grazing incidence analysis, starting with the installation of the mirror and the program that is appropriate for the analysis. it is an analysis that i am often asked to do for the analysis of the main layers. thanks

That is a good idea! Let me ask though, what are you trying to learn about from your layers? For example, phase identification, phase quantification, thickness, roughness, etc.?

@@IAMMDiffractionFacility Hello, thank you for your reply. I would like to identify the phases of the deposited layers, the quantification of the phases, of course the thickness and the roughness. I would like to inform you that I have the AMASS software supplied with the machine. It will be a great pleasure to learn it with you. I also have a mirror type 042Cu and the optics that go with it.

Dear Sir.... Plz make video on capillary spinner stage and analysis of capillary samples

Unfortunately, I do not currently have a capillary spinner stage. I am in the process of purchasing one though, so this is a good idea for a future video!
