As much as the original is a classic I did always feel like the ending seemed a bit unfinished and the final battle with Mr Dark felt a bit anti-climatic with the great protune storyline not resolved. This fan labour of love completely knocked the ending out of the water! It deserves an official release! The Rayman version of Sonic Mania 😁👏

Very cool. Some of the new assets could match the style a bit better, though. Also the rotating sprites only bug me because they don't distort at all. Old school games used the ray-casting technique.
This is not far from how I depicted the landscape and suroundings of Mr Dark’s place. Purple and stormy, far up in the sky. But I guess its a classic one most could see coming…
The only flaw I can find is that Ryamanni removed the shape-shifting ability of Mr. Dark in the final battle where he originally tramsformed into hybrids of the previous bosses.

I agree with two comment I see on this video: ”Now this is how Rayman (1995) should have been made!” ”I hope UbiSoft watch this and realize they abandoned Rayman for years.” I also add my own comment on this video, that is pretty relevant to the comments I quoted above: Rayman Redemption is so damn amazing and awesome. And if you compare it with the original version from the year 1995, at least I think the original version sucks, and it’s very badly/poorly made, compared to how well made Rayman Redemption is. And I think there is not one single way the original is better than Redemption.

I feel like I need to state something. That is not DARK RAYMAN, that is BAD RAYMAN. They are entirely different characters Dark Rayman is from an entirely different game, and there are clear differences between the two Dark Rayman has purple skin, while Bad Rayman's is grey. Dark Rayman's hair is also a bluish-purple as opposed to Bad Rayman's plum-colored hair. Dark Rayman also has a blue scarf, which Bad Rayman does not, rather his is pink. Also, Dark Rayman's looks more like the end of a rectangle (pointier) while Bad Rayman's pelvis is more rounded. Just figured it was necessary to point this out. People confuse the two characters a LOT and it does bother me.
I've never played that game. But only from these videos is it clear to me that it easily compares to today's Fortnite and similar bullshit. And when I finally have a computer and not just a cell phone and tablet with the keyboard, I will definitely install this game immediately.😄😄

The difference is that Mr. Dark doesn't shape-shift like in the original.
But instead, uses the Great Protoon to create the Amalgamation (Originally Darktoon was gonna be That Monstrosity but that was scrapped).
Damn the Mr Dark fight is like 100 times more badass now. The creator did an excellent job, there are so many new bosses, it's insane.
