Yes he's still bad and funny, he met his niece Josie (Alaric and Jo/Caroline daughter) and he escaped the prison world at the end of the episode by going to the pit of Malivore it means he's erased from existence and now he's back on earth and nobody will know who he is. He's so genius! And also now Josie's a dark witch thanks to Kai and we don't know yet but maybe her twin sister Lizzie will become a heretic Josie is so much like Kai, she even tried to trick him but Kai always win!

I was just curious how did Kai turn evil again? Afterall he was good before he was trapped with the witch vampire people. What made him bad again? How did he even escape, wasnt the tool thing broken?
Nicholas Cuccaro He butchered his family before what was left of his family trapped him in the prison world. He felt unloved and under appreciated for his lack of magic and he took it to a dark place.
