I once had an opportunity to share a few precious moments with Coach John Wooden. I pointed up at the 1975 NCAA Championship banner, mentioning that I had graduated that year, and ushered at Pauley the prior three years. I told him how his UCLA Basketball program made me and my fellow Bruin friends feel like champions too. This Bruin Women's team and Coach Close are touching my heart in the same way... Go Bruins!
UCLA is a great team, and it is still early in the season! They are a team with great depth and get better with each challenge. Their preseason schedule was tough, and their conference schedule will continue to test them. I couldn't be happier. 😁
Great talent on both teams with such athleticism. My first Ucla womens basketball game and what a game it was. I will be back to watch these fantastic athletes.
Great job Coach and players. Close’s humility is refreshing! I hope they win it all! She sees the broader picture (the development of people and their careers, vs just entertainment) and shows tremendous respect for the “hated rivals”. Betts and Jones did likewise. That’s true leadership
This team should be the top ranked team in the country. They've played a much tougher schedule than South Carolina, and remain undefeated. Tonight, they finally had perhaps their toughest game of the year at home for a change. Up until now, their toughest opponents were all on the road. Uconn, Ohio State, Florida State, and Arkansas were all defeated in unfriendly arenas.
