I love that you appreciate your current season of life. God is good! You will never regret this time with your family. I’m 67 and they are some of my most treasured memories.😘
100% agree with your feelings about staying home. I stopped working right before my first son was born…over 14 years later, I’m still home with my kids. We gave up half of our income and like you I often wonder how we make it work, but we always seem to have just enough. It’s been completely worth it. I wouldn’t change a thing, absolutely no regrets.
God provides! I was the "breadwinner" before I came home. God has always given us exactly what we need, including a job with higher pay for my husband!
I just love your channel! You're so down to earth and honest and a sweet personality! Also beautiful inside and out. I'm 60 and when I was young I too stayed home with my kids and feel so blessed to get to do that!! I love how you thrift and have a beautiful home!!! Thanks for being real on your channel! God Bless you and your sweet family 👪
Hi, Kristen. Enjoyed your home goods and clothing finds. God always goes beyond our expectations. Keep sharing your love for the Lord. He has given you this platform for a reason. You will never regret staying home with your children. You are bonding and having a ministry that will remain with them for life. Remember the Joy of the Lord is your strength. Greetings from Oklahoma. Jane Greene
Staying home and raising your kids is the greatest gift God could ever give you I raised my five kids at home during the 80s and 90s now I have the privilege of taking care of my five grandkids it is just the best gift from God😇
Kristen, no matter what you wear, it always looks good on you! I liked the mauve cardigan and blue sweater, and the striped buttoned cardigan, the hole looks like the seams were missed when the sweater was made. I doubt anyone is going to notice the hole with how full the arms are, no worries. Enjoy your channel!!
I’d highly recommend learning to do some basic sewing and mending. It has saved us money over the years, for sure. And especially with kids clothes. It’s also just nice to feel like you’re able to keep the things you love with you for longer.
The blue dish is a flow blue soup tureen from what I can tell. I’ve seen similar ones go in between $50-$100 depending on the brand/age of the piece. It’s really a beautiful piece and I love the detail in the handles!
@@KristenHoffman it's blue willow and it's a sugar bowl. Flow blue is more runny in colour. Soup tureens are bigger and the lid has a slot for a spoon🙂
I saw a show once where they discussed all the associated costs of working outside the home that people might not think of, such as maybe being in a higher tax bracket; paying more for gas, car insurance, car maintenance; more take-out food if you're too tired or busy to cook; work clothes expense; not to mention the exorbitant cost of day care for 3 kids. Factoring all those in, sometimes it would even COST them to get a job. I'm glad you are able to stay home.
I love all the clothes you found, and everything looks so cute on you! You are doing the most important job right now and teaching your little girls so much. Love you videos!
Hi Kristen, my favorite find of yours this week was the winter landscape picture. It’s all about timing when thrifting, isn’t it? So glad it was in the thrift store for you to find and will look AMAZZZZING hanging in your new home this winter !
Love your style. And the Currier and Ives book is really cool, I wouldn't take the pictures out of the book, just put the book opened on a piece of furniture and change the pages over time.
I know this advice is coming an entire YEAR late, but as far as the hole in that beautiful sweater goes, I would try and mend it with baby yarn in the same color as where the rip is. I fixed one of mine with yarn and a crochet needle ( not a hook...lol). Good luck! I am so glad I found your channel, it rocks.
That’s ok, I walked around all day with my shirt inside out, I wanted to die when I realized it😂 One of my blessings in life is that I was able to be a stay at home Mom, this was back in the 70s and many Moms were home, we pinched penny’s but I loved being a homemaker and home for my children
Hello Kristen ! You make me smile…love your sense of humor ! The clothes look FABULOUS on you ! I don’t think anybody noticed the hole in the sweater, it is such a full , flowy style..think you were safe 👍 That book full of Currier & Ives…. Great find Rosey ! That is incredible. Glad you got the picture, I saw that was thinking that is you! I completely agree with “the season of your life”….cherish this time, it is important to be with those little ones at this time. I know we lived on “Pennies “ for me to stay home until they were in school. Vacations…LOL!!!! In 46 years of marriage…we have had 3 “go away on vacation”…2 with our kids and 1 on our 25th Wedding Anniversary! So maybe for our 50th ???? It wasn’t or it is not something that is important to us… our fun times were hiking the woods, sitting by fires at night on the back lawn… Saturday night playing cards and listening to music and crazy singing! Cherish your life …. Thank God for the blessings and walk in grace and humility! Which you do by what I see! 💛🙏💛
Love your haul. Oh yes, decorating your home for the seasons is so much fun. When we thrift it is quite affordable. You look nice in the clothes you purchased. When will you be able to move and what is going on with your new home.
Love your haul! That print book is amazing! Your shaving mug found new life as a coffee mug is cute too. I am excited with you to get into your knew to you home.
I love the Currier and Ives book. It would destroy the “cool-ection” of prints, but I’d be so tempted to frame some of them! Great and Incredible purchase, Kristen!
Kristen, I agree that the blue piece looks like a soup tureen. Since it looks small for a tureen, it could be used as a covered vegetable dish. I have one that is similar. The lid keeps food warm on the table. Love, love, love the Currier and Ives book! What a find!
I agree. Someone said sugar bowl, but it's too big for that and too small for soup and missing a ladle, so I was thinking vegetable dish too. It's not flow blue, tho certainly a very similar looking transferware.
Your favorite find lidded tureen looks like some pieces I bought in Hong Kong. I love the color and the weight of that China/pottery. I use mine for decor and for stashing things like you mentioned. These older pieces might contain lead, so I don’t use them for food. I’m sure there is a way to test for lead, but I never have. Such a fun haul! I love your style.
Just found you about 4 episodes ago. The saying “ let your light shine” is embodied in you! The blue tureen is small for soup, but might have held sauces, gravies, or berry compotes?
Great haul! I love the sweaters! Definitely tuck the blue one into your jeans. Speaking of jeans, yours look like the mom jeans I snagged at Target on clearance for $11. I wear them all the time! Have a great week.
All of your thrifting was fabulous. Love your content, watch Rebecca. She has some very good holes. Kudos to you on your clothing pics because everything looks cute and fits you to a tee. No one would ever guess you have three beautiful children. Amazing!
Such a great haul!!! I have a similar art book I thrifted and just don't have the heart to rip any images out....so I just display it open and can change it up to a different page! Love all the clothes too! So crazy--I have the same goal of trying to thrift more natural fabrics!! It is a really fun goal...and I have still found a couple of amazing pieces that were not natural fabrics, but had to make exceptions!🤣 Can't wait to see that FBMP find!!!!
