David Gilmour - Luck and Strange / High Hopes / Comfortably Numb clips - Brighton Centre, 20/9/24

- A montage of rough clips from three of the songs David Gilmour performed at the first dress rehearsal show at Brighton Centre.
"Rough clips" as I wasn't really looking through the mobile's screen at the time! In two of the three cases, they're also quite short clips.
"Dress rehearsal"? May have been sold as such, but pleased to report that it seemed like a pretty full-on and tour-ready show from where I was sat - wonderful!
Damn. Hitting those notes on Luck and Strange! You go man!
Exactly! When I first heard the studio version, I was wondering if he could do it live, but no doubt he can, without any effort!❤🎉
Was there and it was an amazing experience!
Wasn't it just! The security were on people's cases for filming, baking in there though: I discovered the bar was card only and had to blag some water from one of the guards...
BULLSHIT
@@Paranoidisagreatsong I was there too with my son yesterday. It was awesome. What a rehearsel. David and the band, and his daughter hit it. Unbelievable. I will see him again in London at The Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 9.10. Can't wait. The security indeed overreacted too much and too firm. Come on People, it's 2024. Never have experienced this on a concert. Greetings Dirk Belgium.
He sounds like he has gotten better, playing wise. Just amazing!
Well! I do think that he are getting better to know the songs in the new arrangment. And he are probely singing whit mpre fore in this performance then in the first rechershal
Never had any luck getting tickets but I have met and worked for david and he's truly a lovely bloke. Romany is also a very warm and kind person. She made me a lovely cup of tea!
Thanks mate, weeping as I sit here in Canada.
Me top, sitting in Poland 😢
I drove 500 miles with my son to be there last night. Apparently this is not the full production so all I can say is if your going to see him on the tour then you won’t be disappointed. Hard to believe he is 78.
❤❤❤I am gonna see David Gilmour today in Brighton and in Octobre in London in the royal albert hall. Can't wait. Greetings Dirk Belgium
Damn, you’re lucky. I was unable to buy tickets to Brighton due to Ticketmaster fuckups… had them in my basket, but was unable to checkout. 😔
Fabulous
See you at RAH in Oct ❤
@@butcherneckIt was ridiculous - I was waiting at 3pm on the second! Nothing…
We were there for this last night. Haven't slept yet!
great to see dave out there doing what he does his best cant imagine a world without him
Yea. He has been quoted that Floyd is dead and buried because of Wright's passing.
Holy grail.....He is 78...
81
Age is just a number…however, just for the record,David Gilmour is 78 years old,and utterly magnificent!

I had it wrong Roger is 81...mate ...soryy
Guy Pratt is very busy I’ve seen him 3 month ago in Hamburg with Nic Mason 😂
Fantastic show
Thanks for sharing. I’m seeing the show in November at MSG.
I was there. First and probably last time I'll get the chance to see him. Absolutely mind blowing night
Ooohhh!! You are Lucky! Would you be so kind as to pass the setlist, please? Any surprise?
The king is back !
David is unstoppable, I thought I heard him say he was retiring, but then I'm retired and busier than I've ever been.
Merci pour la vidéo
Thanks for sharing I’m going to see his first night and last night at Madison Square Garden in November
I was at Earl’s Court in ‘94 and no words can truly ever do it justice. So gutted I’m missing him this time, hoping he might add a few dates on.
What a brilliant night it was last night, I felt so emotional to see him for probably the last time, as I won't be seeing him on Tour. There were even rehearsal t-shirts on sale which was a bonus, a night never to be forgotten!❤
The cameraman reached Heaven at the beginning of comfortably numb final solo, not able to hold his phone anymore. Honestly i think i will feel the same and even cry when i see Gilmour live on October 2nd in italy. 2 weeks to wait!
Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for sharing. I’m looking for to seeing two of his Los Angeles shows
Fantastic!
Freaking Awesome ❤
thank you very much
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ich danke für die Songs und versenden❤❤❤❤❤
amazing!
See you in Rome, 1st. Oktober....I can't wait.... I fly from Roumania, near Rome, to see that concert... Repet, i can't wait...
There were signs everywhere saying " no filming" love how many videos from this gig are popping up haha
Look amazing
Was there and it was emotional to say the least... see you in Rome David!
Hell yeah. I see David brought the Yamaha ra-200s out for the tour. First time theyve been used lived since Pulse, I believe.
October 29th Hollywood Bowl! Cant wait!
Bravo !!
I travelled from Barcelona, and also was there!
So, he does play comfortably numb and some other PF classics from the wall and wish you were here? I'm bound for his concert in ROme in 4 days! Cant wait.
My lucky friend, Greg, is going to the Royal Albert to see this legend. Greg, if you read this: you're one lucky bastard, but I'm really happy for you because I know you're a huge fan. 😂😍
High hopes 💯
Amo o talento desse Cara. Ainda bem que o vi pessoalmente em São Paulo. Vida longa ao Gilmour !! Brasil 🇧🇷 👏👏👏
I was there :) waiting for London now
I hope there’s a dvd release of one of the Albert hall shows if he doesn’t expand in his tour
I read somewhere they'll be recording at MSG shows.
@@dapyro8558 thanks, if he doesn’t come to Toronto I’ll need something on dvd.
@@dapyro8558where did you read that?
So I was at Pulse at Earls Court aged 12 and exactly 30 years later at age 42 I managed to get 1 ticket (a cancelled one) from the Box Office. This is a huge deal for me and I have been going over all the old material having just updated my Blue Rays to the remastered versions of Pulse and Delicate Sound of Thunder. Since securing my solo ticket I hav been quite emotional about it all. I was a Floydian at a young age and I knew the concert had an impact on me, but maybe didn't realise how much until this - which I personally see as DG's final tour / shows. I like some of his solo stuff but for me it is mainly about that magical Floyd sound of the later years. I am really happy to see a mix of old and new here - and I really want to see him play this at the Albert Hall. Looking back at the historic solo performances he has done since 06 I suspect a few are confirmed such as Comf Numb, Breathe, Time, Sorrow and possibly High Hopes but I would absolutely love to hear some rarer stuff such as Marooned, On the Turning Away, Terminal Frost, that kind of thing. One song I have never managed to capture live which is a personal fave is Welcome to Machine however I suspect this is a bit too Roger Waters for this. Ultimately I can't wait - and I really feel honoured that I get to be a part of it, especially having managed to be taken to Pulse as a kid.
@@Dizeeeeee it's lovely to read this. I think you'll love the show at Royal Albert Hall
hopefully I will see this live for my very 1st time when he comes to the Hollywood bowl.
I’ll fly to London 10th of october to see the show at the Royal Albert Hall. Already so much emotion just thinking the chance which is mine to attend the concert🙏😌
He's a national treasure.
Buff genial increíble con su edad 🎼🎸
Great!!!! See you in Rome on 3rd october
I too tried in vain to get tickets for RAH dates, early allocation sold out in 20 minutes..BOOOOH.

Looking forward to October 11th in London. Coming from Finland :)

I'm going today, I see all the production people are set up on the floor, I managed to get front row.
I can’t wait to hear high hopes live.. that was the song that opened my world to Gilmour.. took me out of the darkness
Hollywood Bowl October 31
The harmony vocal on comfortably numb is great, is that Romany?
Who does the Waters vocal on C Numb?
@@alithealien Guy Pratt.
I think I heard Romany's voice from this recording. To be confirmed.
Great stuff so far!!
Waiting for Rome!
Wish he would play material from his first 2 albums.
Rome , October 1
Bring back the true laser lights, the moving mirror lights, the Phillips Varilight, and drop the digital screen.
did you get Marooned?
Any setlist to share?
Next friday: Rome Circo Massimo, I'll be there....
NYC Nov.4
I saw the setlist. I really thought this time other Floyd songs😢
I saw the set list and was stoked, a couple of the classics but some cool choices I haven’t seen live, as well it seems like the perfect blend of songs in what I think will be a great set.
Love the new tracks as well!!
Hollywood Bowl, 30th and 31st!!
i think the setlist is great, just missing "Money"
@@live.archives money for me the worst Pink Floyd song. But that is my opinion
What was the first song?
Luck and strange

@@mateusza.6875me too! 👍🏻
I wuz there.
The light show is promising. David looks really on
Bin am 27.09. in Rom
Rubbish footage Ive got all the key moments from the South Balcony uninterrupted video as well . I just share those moments with mates . I was at 94 Earls Court and the gigs at Royal Albert in 2006 . I also actually watch the gig and just keep fone well out of sightline . Met someone who is a proper fan and he has invited to the Rome gigs .The furthest travelled fan came from Brazil according to the Box Office . The train back was full of foreign people going back to Gatwick .
Aren't you nice 🤣
What did you use to record?
How many lasers do you want? Yes please
I would have love to have seen him play as I have numerous times since 1980, but because all the ticket bots swiped 1000's of tickets within milliseconds I cannot afford to and would not in any case pay £1000 to £2500 for a ticket on the likes of the Viagogo tout market.
There’s no way his voice makes it through the tour. I predict many cancellations.
die lasershow slaat negens op,

Do they use playback for his voice? Before the lines „the endless river, forever and ever“ he steps away from the microphone and sits down behind the slide guitar, but the singing goes on though he isn’t singing! After 1:09
Backing singers
That line was used by Syd as well on see Emily play forever and ever
@@mralexlex But why does it sound exactly the same, seems as if voice is still there, doesn’t sound like backing singers, which were also are not meant to be in this song during these lyrics
@@tho2295The idea is that it doesn't get noticed. Almost everyone on stage is singing and at that moment only Gilmour leaves. If you watch Pulse, the acoustic etc. it's always like that. And he used to leave only on the last verse, but on the last tour he was often starting the solo late so this time he solved that by leaving a verse earlier. I love these details, always keeping the authenticity and the essential.
Dunno whats happened to Mr Screen? It is synonymous with Mr Gilmour which will always be. Perhaps Marc Brickman could swing some pointers over to the lighting guys....great colours and effects, but seems like they don't have a sequence or DMX pattern needs to be reconfigured. Lighting is accent and emotively powerful. The best effect was the rotating curtain of colour. The rest, very average. I still think On An Island is Gilmours most profound work. Rattle has powerful tones and lyrics but on the sad side. On An Island has depth for which he is so profoundly know for. The band, we'll they need to get used to the flow of the main guys. Gilmour and Guy Pratt are left, longstanding keyboards, guitarist, slide guitar and vocals Mr Jon Carin a brilliant musician and composer no longer it seems. Steve Distanislo best next to Nick Mason. Phil Manzanerra El Magnifico was right in step with Gilmours methods and abilities as Sir Richard Wright was. So change is change it is what it is but the cohesiveness must be there every show. But Gilmours work to this day is leaping over decades and decades of people's lives, that's the hallmark of a songwriter and composer who knows full well how to play what the world is thinking about.
Waters definitely knows how to put on a better show
One of the worst performances I've ever heard
The best moments are when he does Pink Floyd songs and he knows it very well, of course the voice is weak and the guitar lacks the energy of a few years ago...
"Luck & Strange" alright.......give it up. Time for the old folks lodge. 🖤♠
I honestly thought this was a rehearsal. I’m going to Rome basically to see Comfortably numb and now I’m thinking about selling my ticket. The way he butchered that solo, my god
You’ll regret it if you do. It may be the last time Mr Gilmour will do such a tour.
So you basing your critique on something recorded on a cellphone played back through your phone or crappy laptop speakers.Judging by the audience reaction it seemed to go down ok.and even on my crappy laptop speaker there didn't seem anything wrong.Still you can't please all the people all the time
You'll be missed. 🙏
may be the years are caching up with David Gilmour he seems to struggle with playing guitar may be his fingers are not so nimble has when he was young . just saying though .
i can tell your a real fan if you bought a ticket just to here one song
