Hi Jill & Roger. We purchased our Elddis CV40 campervan from Brownhills. Its taking 4 months just to get it looked at for a warranty claim, this is just the claim, not any work to be carried out. Even when we picked up our van in 2022, we were told book it in at least 6 months in advance for servicing. We drove past Brownhills a month ago and the place was full of vans, never seen so many.. lots are Fords. I agree 100% with your advise to book ahead.
I hope that you get your warranty claim sorted out soon. It really is amazing how long it takes to book a van in for anything. At least Brownhills told you to book 6 months in advance, Highbridge never mentioned anything.
Just got our Ayers Rock after an 18 month wait, loving it. It’s the newer style with the different storage at the back etc. width across the middle is the same, the chairs are where the water tank is on yours. Enjoy
It seems that the waiting list has reduced slightly, but not by much! We are about to embark on a 3 month trip in ours so it will be interesting to see if we still think it's the right size in 3 months time!!
A very interesting, and informative, video. Thank you. Hopefully we’ll be picking up our Dreamer D68 from Highbridge Somerset in July after a 20 month wait 😕. I note with interest your comment about booking well in advance for the hab check. Perhaps we’ll book it in straightaway at the point of collection 🤣 Happy and safe travels, and looking forward to hearing about your upcoming adventure.
I bet you can't wait! I just seems crazy that you have to book so far in advance - I don't know whether it's this time of year that they are particularly busy.
Interesting review. We started with an Autocruise panel van (for four years) which was great but we didn't trust to keep our bikes on a rack outside so moved to a Knaus Sun Ti which has a garage big enough for two folding, electric bikes BUT the same French bed layout inside that we liked in the Autocruise. An added bonus was a wider bed as the Autocruise was very narrow and we aren't any bigger than you two. Now looking forward to following your epic tour of Scandinavia - enjoy! Ann PS - like your mats very much - please will you share where they are from?
A good idea to keep your bike inside the van. We got our mats from The Range. We wanted something that we could just chuck in the washing machine when we get home.
Hi, just subscribed to your channel. We are just about to pick up our Hymer Free S 600 Campervan in a few weeks, having downsized from a 7.5m Rapido A class. Have you ever, once you’ve packed every thing in your Campervan and fixed the bikes on the back, taken it to a weigh-bridge to be weighed? We had our A class upplated to 3880kg and had plenty of payload. With our Hymer, a rough calculation shows we should have around 350kg of payload. As you look to have packed your Campervan with all the items we would normally pack, we wondered if you had and spare payload when yours is fully packed? David
You'll love your Hymer. I'm afraid we've never had our van weighed so are not sure what our payload is. The mass that Hymer specifies includes 3 x 75kg passengers. As it is only ever the 2 of us we have therefore saved 150kg and even with the bikes, I'm don't think we are anywhere near the limit. We wont be taking our bikes to Scandinavia as we didn't think that we would use them much and have taken the rack off.
Lovely video. Our Hymer Free S600 is just 1 year old, we’ve been through similar learning experiences as first timers too with the water dump switch, the gas bottle button and the usb ports in the little dashboard storage area. Like you guys we will keep an open mind on how the van meets our needs during year 2, we absolutely love it at the moment and have been doing short tours with it around lots of France (where we live) in all weathers. We have a plan to do a bigger tour across the north coast of Spain later this year so like you with your trip to Scandinavia we will see how it and we cope. Interested in the Duvalay, did you have it made to measure? We have flares on both sides of the Free S600 so just wondering if we will need one specially made. We’ve subscribed so we will follow your progress with interest. Good luck and happy and safe touring.

I'm glad you love your Hymer as much as we do! We have currently spent 50+ consecutive nights in Henry and still think he's great - although look out for other campervans and motorhomes on a regular basis!! With regards to the Duvalay, they were really helpful and we just told them which van we had and they sent a picture with the dimensions. Once we had agreed (and paid!), we received the topper very quickly. Please mention whichwaynow when you order!!! I hope that you have a great time in Spain.

@@whichwaynow Thank you
Check out the AA Wireless device that you can plug into the socket rather than your phone and then use wireless android auto.

With you on the zenec 🤯
I'm glad it's not just me, sometimes you do wonder! I certainly won't spec a zenec in our next campervan.
