      No athlete, regardless of sports goes without injury. Strongman/powerlifting is more prone to this than others. So is crossfit. Thor had like a stroke or whatever, which caused part of his face to go numb temporarily. Kind of the nature of the beast.

      @@jdata Okay, I looked it up, you are right. However, you have to be out of your freaking mind if you think Strongman and Powerlifters aren't prone to injuries.
      Powerlifters and Strongmen have injuries ALL THE TIME! Fucking heavy ass weight falling on you. Improper spotting or loading of weights.
      I have seen SO MANY powerlifters and strongmen failing lifts and having the shit come right down on their legs or arms. There also many instances of tendons failing and rupturing. Or even bone snapping.
      I am a powerlifter myself, and I know the risks involved, so I am not knocking the sport. I am just saying. These men and women REALLY DO need to super safe and even then, you are more often than not going to get SOME kind of injury just from all the heavy weights being moved day to day.

    I’m always curious about these super strong kids... they usually get their start young at like 12 or so right..?
    so I’m wondering do they just start out able to lift heavy? Do they make giant strides at a faster pace than the rest? Both?

    That's incredible. I walk out 550 and get nervous. Dudes 18 and hit 900 with a walk out. I can't imagine what his numbers will be with 10 more years of training.

    To the people who say he's on steroids, well duh! But he's still in the 99.9th percentile for strength athletes. The vast majority of men could take an obscene amount of gear and never come close to a 900 pound squat. Barring a career ending injury, in a few years this kid will be a powerlifting kaiju.

    It’s insane how some people can squat more than they pull. Just shows you how leveraged and body proportions can make you suited for certain lifts

    I think you need to lift to understand just how impressive this is. One in a generation strength. Hopefully he warms up and trains properly as to avoid injury and early retirement.

    There was an 18 year in the Hs Texas powerlifting meet a couple years and squatted I think 1025 lbs

    I was very impressed with him about 6months (and I still am)
    when I saw a video of him front squatting 6-700lbs, but I'm actually concerned about him lifting that much for
    such a young age. I think he needs to focus on his upper body more now for his success.
