Love listenin' to Ramblin' Jack (sometimes he'd ramble more than he'd sing and play, that's how he got the name). John Herald was an incredible picker and is always fun to listen to.
Jack Elliott gave me my first guitar lesson in Alan Lomax's apartment in 1962 when I was about 14. I had picked up a banjo the day before, and Alan taught me how to practice on the seams of my jeans. "You'll get a whole lot more girls if you play guitar instead of banjo..." said Jack. That made an impression on my adolescent brain. By then, he had already rambled to Europe, so I was talking to an internationally known folksinger. I've played guitar ever since. I also went back to my Sophomore year in High School as a deeply changed person.
I can just hear him saying "You got the double TT right but the G wrong."
Post the lyrics, my ears are too slow.
