In order for the bengals to comply with the rooney rule. The bengals should interview brian flores and jerrod mayo. Both candidates who could be good options for DC. Sadly i feel like they are interviewing graham because they wont have to pay him much.
Why would flores take a job downgrade. He will be a HC next year likely. If not he will stay with thr good organization who lost 3 games vs the terrible one that hovers around 500 every year.
Wdym? He had the 9th ranked scoring defense twice in 6 years. He has average ranks of 20th in yards allowed, and 21st in points allowed. This would be a bad hire. His resume is not good at all. Thankfully, this is likely a Rooney Rule interview.
@@FIRSTSTOPBENGALSIf they have their eye on someone specific, they probably just want to interview any token black guys to get the rule out of the way. Maybe Mayo isn't their guy, and if he's not, why bring him in as the token interview?
the NFL's Rooney Rule requires teams to interview minority candidates for coaching positions: Teams must interview at least two external candidates - people of color and/or women. Virtual interviews don't count. think we will find there are a LOT of folks who would want the DC job with the Bengals, much more than we think.... Al Golden might be good one from Notre Dame and former Bengals coach... He has a rep for devoting young talent... Salah may be too pricy, but would love that too... Think more names will pop up soon. we will see!
Prety sure Zac understands that if he dont get to the AFC Championship next year his ass is gone. Im like everyone else here. He has to be interviewing Graham to satisfy the Rooney Rule.
Could just interview Jerod mayo. I think they are just trying to get him, cuz they can pay him little. Dennis Allen will cost a crap tun. They are trying to cheap out.
, cincy is hands downs the best spot for any new coach tryna make a splash , you have franchise QB , WR - arguably 2, franchise RB and franchise edge rusher… like just fix up the defense and it’ guaranteed a playoff spot - realistically
Great for any offensive coach. Sadly the front office has let so many pieces go. So it’s not as good for defensive coaches. We do have Trey, Logan, CTB, Dax, but the rest need to improve. Or the front office spend more money on defense.
@FIRSTSTOPBENGALS Geno Stone has been very good in the past. Heck, so has Vonn Bell, Sam Hubbard, Mike Hilton, etc. A lot of guys fell off last year for some reason. The only guys we really lost are Reader and Bates. Reader was hurt a lot.
C'mon though bro. We should do better than this. The guy has average ranks of 20th in yards allowed and 21st in points allowed. He's bad. We can and should do better.
Bro idk why and I’m sure it’s prolly a me thing but…last couple years I kinda cringe when I hear the term “SB roster”….just kinda feel like we’re more than a couple pieces away to say that term….not far off but…idk what other term to define us as either. We’re just stuck in limbo with trashy, rah rah HC ZT‼️🤦🏾♂️😂🤣 I just….idk man; I just want us to be respected and win multiple SBs🥹🥹🥹😭😭😭😢😢😢🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Is that too much to ask for?! 🤷🏾♂️😇
@@FIRSTSTOPBENGALS ugggghhhhh!!!!!! I can't stand this front office and ownership! We're never going to win. That Mike Brown thought, "If I just pay Burrow, he's so good that I don't have to pay anyone else."
If you go through any of our games, it’s clear it’s a lack of coaching. Not really a player problem. We lost 5 games by singular mistakes. Most of them on defense. Players win games, coaches lose them. We just got out coached this year. Which is sad cuz the roster we have is great.
@FIRSTSTOPBENGALS I agree we're a SB squad, but it's not 100% on the coaches, even though I agree some of them were a problem. We got kinda hosed by refs in a couple. A terrible year from McPherson cost us a couple games as well. Flip some of those and we go from 9-8 to 12-5.
@FIRSTSTOPBENGALS It's just funny to me that you can make yourself believe that. Trash O and D line. Average LBs Garbage secondary. Hendrickson only D player worth anything. O line trash, Best WRs ok TEs OK RB and a QB who plays great until the pressure is on and he chokes and can't get out of his own way. But yea that's coaching. Everyone's bromance with Burrow needs to stop and actually watch him at crunch time. He folds like a cheap suit. It's just the Bungles and always will be as long as Mike Brown is still breathing. But this is definitely not a Suber Bowl caliber roster. May have a few pieces but not even a wildcard team roster.
Lou was never that good, even during the AFC title runs, and when he's been bad, he's been AWFUL. The Bengals have drafted and signed a lot of talent. Lou didn't develop that talent, while others have fallen off under Lou's watch.

The rule, must interview a couple of minority candidates ,that's all this is!!!😮
Why would flores take a job downgrade. He will be a HC next year likely. If not he will stay with thr good organization who lost 3 games vs the terrible one that hovers around 500 every year.
If we have a #9 defense that wins the bowl! Every other year this guy had a top 10 defense and yeah we need that to win!
Exactly 💯

The Rooney Rule exists. They have to interview some black guy.
Interview Jerrod mayo?
I agree, Rooney rule meeting.

There are good black coaches and not every black candidate interviewed is to fulfill the Rooney rule.
This isn’t going to end well boys.
Ridiculous overreaction to a Rooney Rule interview. Relax bro.

Jerrod mayo and Brian Flores. Two actual good candidates, who we might hire depending on who’s available.
Prety sure Zac understands that if he dont get to the AFC Championship next year his ass is gone. Im like everyone else here. He has to be interviewing Graham to satisfy the Rooney Rule.
Hopefully Mike Brown isn’t trying to cheap out on us. No reason to over react yet I suppose.
league rules we have to give interviews to others even if that person isnt the one we are interested in.
Interview Jerod mayo. That fixes the problem. Plus he might be a good candidate.
That’s interview was only to get the Rooney rule out of the way🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Could just interview Jerod mayo. I think they are just trying to get him, cuz they can pay him little. Dennis Allen will cost a crap tun. They are trying to cheap out.
@ yup that’s what it seems like bro 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ it’s them damn Blackburns 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
They have to do a certain amount of interviews right?
Yes but they could just do Jerod mayo. That would fix the problem.

Rooney rule interview
Just Interview Jerrod mayo
He could be interviewed for the DL or LB coaching jobs
it’s gonna be the same bengals if Zac is head coach and Duke Tobin
Guys what about Brandon Staley? He has had good defensive teams
Also was rams DC against us in superbowl?
#20 defense would still make us contenders
Yep
C'mon though bro. We should do better than this. The guy has average ranks of 20th in yards allowed and 21st in points allowed. He's bad. We can and should do better.
No please God. Saleh or Allen or Zimmer
Allen almost got it before Lou did
Failing up. That's our society
The bungels are back baby
Never does as long as Mike Brown is still taking in oxygen. Bungles for life
Chiefs fan.
Why are we even talking to this guy?
Same reason Dan pitcher is our OC. We don’t have to pay him much of anything. Dennis Allen is gonna be very expensive.
Rooney Rule. Period. We may end up hiring a bad candidate, but I'd almost guarantee it won't be this guy.
Dont these "sudden" coaching changes just put the stamp on the shit show that has been going on behind the scenes last 2 years
NEXT!!!
Woh day
Hire Robert Saleh.
This cant be real?

thats exactly whats happening. He's gonna cost nothing. Dennis allen will cost a lot.

We should not have fired Lou. He's the best coach in the system. Big mistake.
Something had to be done... Sadly he's one that had to go It sucks but we'll have to get over it
