seems that it was one of the few days where the Parcours was not working. Maybe to early in the day. From looking at the cloud shadows the wind was nearly zero wind.

I have an ASG29 as well. Looking for a good way to mount my 360x3. How do you mount yours. (Would like to avoid canopy suction cups though)
    Thanks

Do you have a flight track for this, that you could post ?

Wow ! This shows me how conservatively I'm flying. What kind of a glider are you flying Mike ? In terms of glide ratio , what is your safe glide ratio to a landable
    field or airport ?

Hi Les, This is in an ASG29, 18m pure glider. The glide ratio I use varies depending on where I am, what I have experienced that day etc. Normally I work on between 25-30:1 with a safety margin. I too am usually pretty conservative. In part of this video I was certainly out of range of any safe landing area which is not something I often do when in the mountains but I was pretty certain the ridge was working. I do have flight logs for this file but not sure how I can get it to you?

@@mikeoliver4223 Thanks Mike. This video really hits home for me, as my flying site ( Port Alberni B.C .Canada ) has pretty much zero landout options. I fly a Kestrel 19
and my "safe glide" for me is around 20 :1 . ( about half the gliders best L/D ) Thank you for sharing your flight. I enjoyed it immensely. Les

What kind of land-out options do you have in there ?

Hi Bill, I have a Gopro which I got just before going on this trip and it was mounted with a suction cup. Having said that it gave me no problems with falling off although we had very hot temperature on the ground and obviously much cooler at height. I will be looking for an alternative mounting arrangement though.
Landout options are actually better than it sometimes looks. I fly fairly conservatively and am usually in reach of either a known airfield or one of the recognised outlanding fields that are in a book thy publish in the Alps. In this particular video there is a brief period where I was probably in reach of neither but was reasonably confident that the ridge would carry me.

@@mikeoliver4223 thanks. Looked pretty scary a few times there. I know the feeling.
