This concert and even the reconstruction parts are absolutely fab. Captures the raw positivity and rhythm rocking, of these legends. Maybe only the Nme awards concerts are on same level of clarity and vibrancy. The lead guitar and rhythm guitar are especially strong on these recordings. Check George lead fills on she loves you.
The Beatles will be enjoyed for many generations to come as there music is as fresh as it was 60 years ago. No other band in history has been so we'll loved and to this day still number 1 as they will always be
That was fantastic! I've seen this concert numerous times but editing in the color 8mm clips and other footage was awesome, especially during the songs that had missing footage! I'll be revisiting this many times! Peace

Good god what an excellent presentation! I've previously seen this concert but there were some camera angles I've never seen before. You solved the missing frames adroitly, again with some (at least to me) unseen color footage. And the sound--simply the best I've heard, truly dynamic for this exciting era. Now if Peter Jackson could take it further then this would be the best Beatles concert experience ever. Thank you for the amazing upload!
The Beatles Sing for Shell. How cool. I wasn't aware Shell had this one in the library. When I was a kid the teachers would use Shell educational films in the classroom. Many years later I did the same, using an old Shell film to teach students about aircraft wing design and how supersonic wings were shaped different than standard wings and why. Anyway that was cool. What makes She Loves You one of my favorite Beatle songs are the flips and fills George added. And I like watching him and Paul singing together. They should have used that combo a bit more in their studio stuff, just those two without John, like they did on I Me Mine. One thing about the Beatles, they played live with all that screaming without the benefit of monitor speakers. If you've never played live, you don't know what an accomplishment that is. My band never played in front of a crowd screaming as loud as a 747 and we relied on our monitors to keep us on track. That says so much about just to how tight they were and how well they knew the material. So long ago. But I'll never get tired of listening to the Beatles.
I think Channel Nine is the one who has this in the archives, I think all Shell did was sponsor the show/broadcast, maybe they have it in their archives, I dunno, thanks for watching!
I've listened to the Beatles from the very beginning and after watching tons of these early concerts came to realize George Harrison was surprisingly quite good and could have sang lead on a number of their songs instead of the other two and the results would have been the same.
AMAZING! The film has been beautifully restored! They put so much energy into this, it’s clear they were really enjoying themselves and it’s good see George singing a lead too! The sound quality is terrific! Something to treasure, and thank heaven no one has ruined it by cropping it to 16:9!!!
Would you believe that the original tape was rescued from a builder's skip when Channel 9 was being renovated. I saw it soon after it was found, and was screened along with all other Beatles concerts, Ed Sullivan etc. This concert stood head and shoulders over all the others for its production and of course The Beatles were in top form. This was long before computer enhancement was available.
somehow this one never crossed my bow: thanks! Do wish back in those days they had camera directors that were musicians: invariably focus on wrong stuff during solos. Also notice what looks like several Fender bassman or band masters back there among the Vox amps

How could I ever thank you enough for getting this up in time.. 60 years ago today was Brisbane... I was only two. I've lived feeling this gaping cavernous hole in my soul because I missed this unprecedented (covid word) phenomenon.. This has made me feel a little bit better.. Thank you..✌️
They were laughing because George started to play the lead part near the end of John's solo, and remembered just in time. There's a great video on youtube showing John playing the solo in concert.

So weird Hold Your Hand wasn't played at the show, yet was played during other Australian shows, seems like they switched to doing "Can't Do That' instead, which I prefer!
I Saw Her Standing There was the one being switched on their concert tours. For the U.S. tour in August-September 1964, instead of starting some of the concerts with Twist And Shout, The Beatles would start with I Saw Her Standing There, end with Twist And Shout, and leave out Long Tall Sally, which was their normal closer on the U.S. tour.
The drum kit on the right side of your screen belonged to the Phantoms, an Australian group who backed up Aussie singers Johnny Devlin and Johnny Chester as supporting acts on the tour.
@@pcpablo2 Check out their Atlanta Fulton County Stadium concert from August, 1965. They were provided foldback speakers from a local audio company Baker Audio. John and Paul comment after the first couple of songs how loud they are and that they could hear themselves play and sing. When asked at the end of the tour what was the most memorable part of the 1965 U.S. tour, John commented on the concert in Atlanta.
Amps haven't changed that much in today's climate. Vox are still one of the best guitar amp's around, so are the Fender amps. What has changed is the technology that goes with it. Since guitar effects have become such a part of how guitarist's want their guitars to sound, effects play a huge part of the sound being achieved. Studio allows a lot of diversion, experimentation into the produced final sound onto tape, that live shows now come into account, and the touring musician wants to have the almost exact sounds to their live performance's Effect's allow for this to take place. Guitar player's, bass player's, keyboard and brass section players all want control of what they are producing in a live situation. Back in the day, and unfortunately still exist's today with amplification, are the basic buitin effects on amplification, is a tremelo effect, with a speed control, to make the tremelo faster or slower. The other is a builtin Echo chamber effect, and the intensity dial, to add depth to that sound. Chorus was added later but put into a footswitch box, where you had several dials on it, to alter the effect Some amps came out with a builtin Fuzz sound, and that had an intensity control builtin, I have an early 'Accoustic' brand, keyboard amp with this effect on it. But I played bass through this amp, it had 2 x 15 inch bass style speakers, with a horn loaded flared speaker at the top of the cabinet, I use to be able to get a louder bass sound out of it, in comparison to a Marshall bass amp, which I thought lacked punch. Eventually bass amps did, and have improved for bass players and the technology has improved, along with speaker's. The power has gotten better, where bass was never powerful enough, but is today. I use a 10 inch bass speakers these day's, 16 of them with 2 x 15s. Hartke 2000 watt, Eden world travel 1200 watt, and AMPEG. But guitar amps are still only 60 watt, 100 watt, and in a lot of cases, with Fender guitar amps, a 30 watt is usually plenty. Hendrix use to use one Fender amp in the studio, when recording and rehersing, but on stage, you will see, he uses a fender twin, or a 100 watt, or 60 watt fender amp, with a line out into his Marshall stacks. The marshall's were to get the volume out there, for his live shows only. Fender amps were Jimi's preferred amp. Back in the day, Vox and Fender had very clean undistorted sound, where some of the lower grade amps, just couldn't deliver. Today, Fender are still the leader in guitar amp's. With pre amps in all amplification has given even the amateur guitarist better control of their sound, quiet, or loud, the technology has changed. What 'The Beatles' were using back in their day, was nothing but the very best there was. Vox still are one of the very best amplification producer's in the world, they still have that reputation to uphold, look at what the Beatles legacy has put on the music world, all the Beatle tribute bands, most use Vox, and they'll be of a better quality than the Vox amps, 'The Beatles' were using !!! Because these bands use all the array PA production system's available today for all touring international acts. Even Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have got to experience today's technology. Even on todays level, without all the artificially produced sound, that all acts use, 'The Beatles' produced their sound with what they had, just guitars plugged into an amplifier, with basic guitar jack to jack, drums, with perhaps one overhead microphone, 4 vocal mic's, through a PA with one, or 2 colums each side, no foldback, to be able to hear what it was they were singing, screaming out of control audiences no roadies or technician's, or guitar tech's, that could be seen to assist them during s concert, these 4 guys did it all themselves, and were, and still considered better than anything that is produced today. How does that equate ?! And nothing has come close since! ! ! Look and hear the frenzy they caused, no wonder they had Elvis worried.! No one has ever done this, and wrote all, most of their own songs.
They played the same set with just a few more all their concert years,sad because they had a huge catalog of songs they could've played.Like George could've played Don't bother me or later I need you instead of doing Berry covers.
