It wasn't made by BMW, but had its V-12 powering it. The Italdesign Columbus could be one of those vehicles that the "Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015" allows 325 cars a year or less to be made by small manufacturers. Here's a page about the Columbus: www.motor1.com/photo/3664865/1992-italdesign-columbus/

Lets go commandeer that airmobile from the national museum, figure out exactly what allowed it to get 43 miles to the gallon and create new versions that can handle biofuel and get the same if not better still mileage or put a biofuel digester in the back of a natural gas powered truck or trunk of a car and make the vehicles fuel onboard and never need natural gas or petrol for another vehicle again!!!!
The Optica sounds like it was shut down for the mere fact that it could compete against automobiles and/or fuel milege as well as competing against helicopters
Most of these were pretty cool! I liked most the air powered vehicles caught my eye for sure, one could add peddle power to this to help out and or in the even there was not enough wind! I liked the ranger, and both aircrasfs shown!!!

The Columbus would have made a great van design if it were a little shorter and if either Toyota, or an American company produced it. A V8 combined with a well built automatic transmission like what Toyota produces would have been an excellent combination and would have done well in North America. I wouldn't touch anything made in Europe and sold in the America's, all over priced, over engineered pieces of dung.

That boat-mobile would have been my favorite if you could actually drive it out on the water like an aqua car. That being said, I'm torn between the Olds super limo and the BMW shuttle bus as my favorite on this list. I'm a huge fan of Oldsmobile, and I love combining cars that don't match, like a fast grocery getter, or a convertible station wagon. Here you've combined a limousine, a station wagon, and a semi truck, all into one. Give it some serious HP, a targa roof for the front seats, and maybe pop the top off the back to make it an el camino style truck bed, and this beast is complete... And of course, the BMW minivan is just too cool in my opinion. This would make an awesome little travel mini RV. I had an Old Silhouette a few years ago and it was like driving a space shuttle. I imagine this would be a similar driving experience, but WAY cooler.

Car 11, the green Ferrari, while they *were* made with 4x4, that example in particular in rear wheel drive only. I don't know if it's a post-delivery conversion or if FERVER actually built 4x2's, but you can clearly see the front suspension on the Sothebys auction website.

I've seen the BMW Columbus live at it's debut, I was shocked how big its interior is ... not to mention the massive V12 - 5.0L engine ( same as in the BMW 850)! Back then, I thought : this will never go into production ... unfortunately, I was right ...

The dual rear wheels look like the same set-up as the 72-78 GMC motorhome. It also used a Toronado engine & transmission.

The sea ranger. An amphibious unimog, yes please. Would be expensive as hell but as an avid off roader and overlander I can't think of a better overland chassis to do it on.
