(Devout Ripper 2 user): I agree with some other comments in this thread... If pyranha reads this, please take the backband and roto-hookers from this design and integrate it into future boats. Huge improvement in my opinion and addresses most of my previous issues with the current Stout 2 outfitting.
@@WadeHarrison Really nicely made, clean as moulding and assembly, outfitting is typically European so functional but not as feature rich as North American boats (it also doesn't wear out fast or break). Overall decent designs that are contemporary with what everyone else is doing, top tier quality. Also not easy to get here, but we do get a few. You testing the Zet Ninja anytime soon?
Do you think pyranha might have the same thigh braces and backband mechanism on other pyranha boats in future? - looks super easy to use them and I imagine those braces make you feel really locked into the boat.
I had an exchange with Pyranha on TH-cam and they said they had no intention of changing the outfitting in their whitewater boats at this time, but are always reevaluating. I hate the factory Pyranha backband. Mainly due to how low it is. I’ve fixed it with the “Wade Harrison” hack but this looks good right from the factory.
This boat definitely does not like rocks. I boofed mine once on the river the first time out, and it put a significant dent in the stern. I don't think Pyranha intends this boat to be on the river proper. They even say they don't recommend for it to be paddled on rocky rivers. The plastic seems very soft, and it lacks structural integrity in the stern especially big time.
Agree the edges do not like rocks and also agree I would only recommend this for the flowing type rivers and whitewater courses I think it’s best in all those
@@WadeHarrison Hands down though, I think it's the funnest river runner I've ever paddled. It's so fast, and I LOVE where they ended the edges. Also, it's really changed my thinking on the current rocker race to the top that's going on. I really hope they incorporate a lot of this into a Ripper 3. Although, I love my Ripper 2! :-)
@@georgewilliamssr5230 it did help very slightly but I feel the lack of rails on the tail makes it slip side to side don’t think they had any intention of this being in surf but as far as pivot turns ferry’s down river speed this is as good as it gets

Thanks Wade! As always, love your enthusiasm and energy, and this is definitely THE boat to nerd out over! We're here for it!!
For sure!

Knowing that group They are always looking to improve so I’m sure they are cooking up something might not be this but I’m sure it’s something
Very unique design features. Thanks for the review.
Yeah it’s something different which is always a welcome
Love those new thigh braces and those backband / cleats are nice !
Definitely interesting direction like a improved JK setup
The kayak used in Olympic Kayak Cross!
Yes it dominated the events I seen it in all the kayak cross
even though you can use it on rivers ,it was designed with one goal in mind - to win the olympics
🏅 yup that’s why I was like I don’t know if i would completely recommend this kayak to average users it’s a niche design but still really fun
Could you do a video about the evo how it is a stern squirts spins and stuff
If I can get ahold of one again yes
Spade Kayaks use the same sailing cleats, but have them the other way round. Really strong and great holding
Yeah I never seen a spade boat in person there’s like a few in the entire USA from what I understand

yes, my buddy Matt is now a demo center for ZET and he has one I should be in one next few weeks!
@@WadeHarrison Cheers Wade, looking forward to it

That I have no idea but this was a good test for it

Those cleats are quite common in sailing
Thanks that makes sense
Yup, been around for 50 years (or more) for sailing.
Aloomineeum?! Damn Wade, how British of you 😂
Hahha yeah I go back and forth it’s fun to say it that way actually

Do you think 85 if the right size for your weight? (which is basically my weight) or 75 might be better?
If your 85kg I would say get the 85 it’s sized spot on
How does it compare to the Zet Chili?
Yeah that’s what it’s technically going up against
@@WadeHarrison I'm curious if one of them is faster, or one is more tricky to learn
How is it surfing?
Loose in the back and hard to keep the bow up but pretty good
@@WadeHarrison
Huh? I would think with those Mimi skegs. It would grab and hold a front surf pretty good. Maybe their too fat forward for that???

Just take my money Pyranha💰💸 85k=187
Hahah its a great paddle every now and then boat that’s for sure
This boat would SOOOOO kick my ass! 🤣
It’s narrow
😂😂😂
10:30 😂
Hahah yeah he flipped as I was dropping in tried my best to to spear him mid roll 😂 he rolled up and was all good
Those plastic rivets are flimsy. My new Loki came with the same ones. Replaced with sturdier options.
Yeah these came out and that why I said be careful with them luckily I have spares
😈 Promo SM
Yup
