They lost so the Bitcharoos could take the belts from another team, burying that team, while avoiding more accusations of burying FTR. Weasel booking by Dave and the Bitcharoos
Dave is completely invested in defending AEW in all possible ways. He knows their audience is his audience and HE (not Jim Cornette) is desperate to stay relevant.
Dave knows that AEW is his last desperate attempt to stay relevant in the entire industry. he has no sources in WWE. He has no sources in New Japan. He doesn’t even cover UFC like he used to. Once AEW goes under, he will be writing about soccer.
Man, it is *really* concerning that *Bryan Alvarez* is the voice of reason in his relationship with Dave Meltzer. "It doesn't make logical sense, but it makes booking sense" does Dave ever listen to himself? That alone is such a nonsense sentence it automatically disqualifies anything else he says after it on the subject from being taken seriously. He's completely lost it, he is physically incapable of criticizing Tony Khan.
It's great how Dave made up a scenario to try and justify something stupid and it never happened. There was absolutely no good reason for the BBC to beat FTR
People who think Alvarez is as delussional as Meltzer probably don't listen to his shows, he's generally sympathetic towards AEW for sure but he's also been openly critical of a lot of things about it for a long time now
I've noticed lately that a lot of high profile AEW defenders (Dave, Conrad Thompson) now use the argument that when something is illogical, "I'm sure it'll get explained later and make sense." Which is perfect for them because by the time it isn't explained and doesn't make sense, people forget and have moved onto the next illogical thing. But Dave and others have also doubled down with whataboutisms of "well this was done in the past, so why are you complaining now." Put aside whether Dave is right or wrong about it being done in the past - who the fuck cares if it was done in the past, it's doesn't make it less stupid now. And Dave would have been the first guy to complain about this sort of stuff in the 80s and 90s. Anyway, I look forward to Bryan's full face turn and cutting a promo on Dave about interrupting him and not understanding sarcasm for all the years they were on the radio/podcasts. Tony Khan & Dave vs. Bryan & Vinnie is a money feud waiting to happen.

If Dave Meltzer hadn't lost all credibility already, this has to drain what's left.
I think Jim ad Brian summed up wrestling perfectly with "justify to each other what cant be justified to the average person -- because it doesnt make sense to people without that mindset" "for the kind of people that like that kind of thing thats the kind of thing they like."
Thats why some people love the territory days, some love the attitude era, some love indie darlings and some love whatever AEW is.
By Dave's logic, the Ravens should've played the Lions in the Super Bowl.
"you don't understand".
No Dave, we don't. That's exactly the point everyone is trying to make! Because it doesn't make any goddamn sense!
I remember when the Road Warriors didn't get booked in the 1987 Crockett Cup, because they won the year before, so they could challenge the SuperPowers at the GAB '87. FFS
I asked Meltzer a question yesterday on a livestream about Riiiiiiiihhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooo I hope they get the audio and talk about it😂
Nab it yourself and send it to them
@@JohnKobaRuddy they never reply
@@ryanvazquez2301they get so many emails
Your best bet on getting a reply would be to time travel to around the time alice left and brian last took over lol
If only TNA could have had Dave Meltzer defending them. It makes perfect sense for World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young to keep jobbing to a wrestler he won't be facing at the pay per view, Dave would argue!
Another Dave and Alvarez argument? Oh this is gonna be great. The only way it could be logical booking sense is the BCC take the fact they aren’t in the tournament and use that as fuel for a big run in the future but that’s still a stretch
Who wants to see The BCC anymore anyways
*BBC
Just wanted to give you a quick update that Uncle Dave is even more wrong now since the Bucks won the championship. Meanwhile I haven't seen Claudio or Moxley on Dynamite as tag team since then and so that still makes me wonder why FTR lost in the first place.
They lost so the Bitcharoos could take the belts from another team, burying that team, while avoiding more accusations of burying FTR.
Weasel booking by Dave and the Bitcharoos
_"it doesn't make logical sense"_
Dave is completely invested in defending AEW in all possible ways. He knows their audience is his audience and HE (not Jim Cornette) is desperate to stay relevant.
Dave knows that AEW is his last desperate attempt to stay relevant in the entire industry. he has no sources in WWE. He has no sources in New Japan. He doesn’t even cover UFC like he used to. Once AEW goes under, he will be writing about soccer.
Dave is a very regarded individual. Very, very regarded indeed.
Alvarez' progressive attitude of, "nobody is as smart as me and I'm so exasperated!" is so grating.
Maybe that’s why Dave takes the stances he takes at times..to fuck with Alvarez
Man, it is *really* concerning that *Bryan Alvarez* is the voice of reason in his relationship with Dave Meltzer. "It doesn't make logical sense, but it makes booking sense" does Dave ever listen to himself? That alone is such a nonsense sentence it automatically disqualifies anything else he says after it on the subject from being taken seriously. He's completely lost it, he is physically incapable of criticizing Tony Khan.
It's great how Dave made up a scenario to try and justify something stupid and it never happened. There was absolutely no good reason for the BBC to beat FTR
People who think Alvarez is as delussional as Meltzer probably don't listen to his shows, he's generally sympathetic towards AEW for sure but he's also been openly critical of a lot of things about it for a long time now
Meltzer is so bad for pro wrestling
He’s anal cancer, and the Bucks are the Polyps.
Why would the champions look to challenge anyone? Especially BCC?
Get yourself someone who will defend you to the end the way Dave defends Tony Khan.
NOW DAVE IS SAYING HE NEVER SAID AEW WOULD MAKE MONEY IN ITS FIRST FIVE YEARS.
I'm shaken with how much sense Bryan Alvarez is making and me agreeing with him.
As a observer subscriber 20 years this was Gold I nearly died listening this live😂
Was waiting on this one, "ITS NOT MY JOB!" Part 2 😂😂😂😂
I've been a lifelong wrestling fan and can honestly say every time I've heard Meltzers opinion or voice its been entirely against my will.
Until he actually contributes something to the business, he's just a fan. A very loud fan
Jim we love ya in Staffordshire England!
I can imagine losing sanity trying to argue perspective with Dave.
I love how Alvarez and Meltzer clearly dislike each other but have to pretend to stick together since nobody else would want to hire them 😂😂😂😂
And they’re tied together by their show being their livelihood the most of all their other endeavors
Dave out here making me agree with Alvarez....what a World!
Hearing meltzer say that wrestling is about making money when AEW has not made one green dollar in its existence.... Fascinating.
For the first time ever hearing Meltzer I am glad I waited for this era/version of him because now I don't want to stop listening to this
Looking at the thumbnail, I thought "Where's Corny?? It's his podcast. So why isn't--" And then I found him! 😂😅😆
Hey, these illustrations compiled as a Wheres Waldo style book...quick ™ that 😂
Me once Jim mentions Hee-Haw: "You met another and (makes fart noises with my mouth) you were gone!"
To defend Tony, Uncle Dave would bury wrestling and everything it stands for.
(When the clip of Meltzer arguing about this and I wanted to hear Jim’s thoughts on this)
I am not a spiritual man but I want you to know I prayed for this and it happened.
Alvarez is either in the midst of a babyface turn or him and Dave have started a new "good cop, bad cop" gimmick.
Alvarez versus Meltzer with special referee the PLUMBER 😮
( crazzzzy booking)⁉️
Can anyone please translate what Meltzer is saying please? Unfortunately I'm not fluent in gibberish.
YES! It's about time we have a tournament in AEW!
It's like listening to Mr Leahy from the Trailer Park Boys
The shit winds are coming for AEW and Tony Khan😂
It's wild that the bucks after all their dramas are still so high up in the company still when they shouldn't even be in it.
What I find hilarious
The Bucks are a pair of Birther conspiracist, Christian, Trump supporters, and Christian Trump supporters even hate them!!
