Same happened to me. 11-month iPhone 13 Pro. Cased in an Otterbox Strada Folio case and screen protected since day one. Initially offered £635 but was offered £420 due to a damaged screen. The screen was not damaged when I sent it in and I even re-packaged it to look like new. Not even the charger cable had been used. The returned iPhone arrived today but with a damaged screen and no Lightning cable. I have a reputation for looking after my stuff and now I'm left with a phone which I'm going to get far less than what it was worth just a week ago. I'm so angry and unhappy. Not sure what to do now.
I’m guessing because they don’t keep track of who sent in what, so they just send back a random iPhone 13 Pro, Xbox or whatever, which would explain why they don’t always send back accessories and send back phones in a different condition to how you sent them.
Hello There, I am sorry to hear this dreadful experience that you had from Music Magpie, it sounds a bit strange and slightly unlawful, I am not sure about their morals, something doesn't seem right, but at least you got a possitive result from it. Cheers Peter :)
Exact same thing. My partner Sent an ipad with new cables from her new ipad purchase. Refused their offer as they claimed bent device which is rubbish to start with. Received the returned item yeserday minus cable & plug. Seeing its Apple, not cheapest for cables. It is theft at the end of they day
i got a S20+ from music magpie on amazon uk, its supposedly refurbished for £320 unlocked, the phone its self is perfect it looks like new you cant tell no scratches imei number is clean i love it i cant put it down, however they also supplied an excuse of a charger usb c to usb c i cant plug it in anything i may as well not even have a charger just the phone for 320 big ones abit much without a charger i feel, i bought another charger which i can use, the phone is fantastic.
They have just done the exact same to me with my Samsung tablet. Claimed it was rooted (it wasn't!) and offered me £6.50! I opted for return. It has come back to me minus the charger and cable. I emailed them and received the exact same reply as you did. My tablet has also been returned with scratches on the screen which were not there when I sent it.
As a general rule of thumb in regards to Phones they usually only request you send the phone only, however with consoles then obviously they need the power and HDMI. You should always photograph your parcel before closing the box and advise music magpie that you have a photographic inventory of what you have sent and that the items are not classed as Accessories so should be returned if you choose to reject their offer, only after you have a confirming email from them you should choose to send the device or not. I accept that not everyone will be motivated to do that because primarily its about about a money transaction. So, my advice is, do the work beforehand to ensure a smoother outcome.
I think they swapped my iPad because when I send it they told me the screen had a water mark and my iPad never got water or fell in water , my mistake I didn’t copy the imei …I think the practise is regular in that company , swap good conditions items for faulty ones .
If they hadn’t have come back to you with the ‘admission’, I would not have let it drop. I would have challenged them on the word accessory. You are right though, it was the power of you tube and Twitter that helped resolve it though. £70 for a cable! Note to self: NEVER use Music Magpie again!
what l am worried about is l have send my ipad in military style protective case to make sure it arrive in safe condition as it was! and the technician forced it to take it of and left a finger/pressure mark on it and water damage ????????????? wtf is that all about?????? never again!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for this video, I was about to send in my iPhone 13 in immaculate condition, now ill sell it else where as I don't want them taking the box to sell other items they have without the box, this should not be allowed, it's actually criminal if you ask me, I really hope you gave a Google review for them, as I only see positive ones online
Me being stupid ordered 2 cd without seeing the reviews it's been 4 days after the estimated delivery date and if they do come I will never order from them again even tho they're cheap I just can't take the risk
Still very untrusting of Music Magbye 🤭 I definitely won't sell to them and I think I definitely won't be buying anything off them either, I buy (brought now) off their eBay store a lot, I'd hate to think that whatever I'm buying has been ripped off from someone else so to speak. They really need to be adjusting those Ts&Cs. Well done for getting a response of them though Kip!! They messed with the wrong influencer 😉
@kiphakes yeah I watched another vid where every comment is about terrible experiences with the machines! I'm going to CEX they've offered me £50 more anyway 👍
@musicMagpie just recently I received an iPhone XS Max off them screen was probably the worst condition I've ever seen it in. Especially for a rental. Customer service live chat does not deal with rentals. So it's a slow process through emails, very disappointed.... Furthermore you can't even call them.
MP is a rip off, I scanned a load of really good DVDs and either they state they do not want them or they are a pittance, they said they would accept 5 titles out of the 15 or so I scanned and the ones they accept were 1 x 9p 2 x 11p and 2 x 12p and one CD Bridge over troubled waters came out at 5p :-) so they are all going to a charity shop. Its just not worth the hassle.
This is why you need face to face interactions. Without proof of what you sent them, they can make up any excuse to reject an item. The scam is you have to send in £5.00 of cds or dvds, they are hoping there will be a gem among them like a expensive boxset or 5 disc music collection.
@@healthbeauty7853 Ziffit are the worst ones for that, they use all of kind of excuses not pay for the higher prices items. It's damaged, missing or the price has now changed.
@@healthbeauty7853 Talking of gems, they wanted my Jimmie Rodgers box set. When I see what they go for I had second thoughts, they probably steal it and say the slip case is damaged.
They are a joke of a company, I checked their website and they offer breadcrumbs for the real value of your electronics. For example, they buy from you a PS Vita for £12, un-freaking believable, while you could easily reach £100 on eBay. I have previously sold some unwanted video games to CEX and even they didn't offer such a disrespectful prices. I have been selling consoles and video games on eBay for many years, and from experience I can tell you that it is much better to sell it there than to these criminals.
good video, they did this to me with my phone cables, they also lie about the condition of your devices when they “test” them in order to offer you a lower price which was a 1/3 of the price initially offered, absolute scum.
I am pretty sure they say not to include any cables, to be fair they will resell the items and I know for a fact they give new (poor quality) cables with items. Just send the bare minimum in the future.
OMG I GAVE MY MINT CONIDION IPAD PRO 2018 VERSION TO MUSIC MAGPIE, I GOT QUOTE 560 WHICH WAS THE BEST. I SENT AND THEY GOT IT EMAILED ME SAYING THEY SAID ITS NOT AS DESCRIBED, REASON THE IPAD WAS BENT. I ASKED FOR IT BACK. IF IT COMES BENT I SHALL BE CONTACTING TRADING STANDERDS. I MIGHT EVEN TRY TO TAKE THEM TO COURT FOR LYING AND DAMAGE MY PRODUCT. NOW AM WAITING FOR MY IPAD TO COME BACK...I WILL BE FUMING. LUCKLY I HAVE PICTURES OF HOW I SENT IT TO THEM FRONT BACK OF THE IPAD WHICH ALSO HAS DATE I TOOK THE PICTURES. WILL TAKE ACTION IF MY IPAD COMES BACK DAMAGED. IF IT DOESNT I SHALL BE GIVING THE A BAD REVIEW IN TRUST PILOT AND WANRING OTHERS NOT TO TRADE IN!!!!! I wonder if we can report the company to the police?
@@jadebates7101 no on getting the ipad back it was in its original condition as I sent it. They tried to scare me to accept the reduction offer which of course I declined. Would advice people to be carefull before doing any business with that company!!!! Which also proved they lied about my ipad being bent and sent me next ipad bent side pic.
Personally I am not sure I would give them my business after the way they treat others including yourself...it seems the following and impact to SM that you created it's kinda bit like a creep ...
I think they are idiots, the ps4 comes with a charging cable, so they thought the xbox one x also comes with a charging cable, Microsoft has never included a charging cable with any of their consoles. Not with the xbox, xbox 360, xbox one, xbox one s, xbox one x or xbox series s or series X. So I don't know where they got that idea from that it was supposed to come with one. They will make up any excuse, so they can steal from you.

This is why you should ALWAYS take note of serial numbers.
This is why you need to take photos of what you sent them, so if they scam you, then you can take them to court.

Wow, that’s so strange. It’s not even excusable, putting the original wires in the box isn’t hard

If you had the original box for the xbox one x, they would know what comes in the box, the play and charge kit is a accessory that is sold separately.
Its an "unfair term ins consumer contracts" You can sue
Daylight robbery, disgusting practices !

I was going to go to my local ASDA tomorrow to use the kiosk to sell my old phone - i think im going to steer clear now
I’m not sure how the kiosk works.. I guess if they inspect your phone and give you money immediately.. take their money. If not.. naaaahhhh

Scamming people is common practice for them, read all the negative reviews on trust pilot, and decided to never use them.

yep
Yup

You could send items in, and if they reject them, it could end up costing you a £25 administration fee, to get you're items back.
I have ordered a dvd from them I hope they don’t rob me I be careful to buy again after this so they not do themselves any favours
