Sending you all the love, Mary. Funny people thought you were part of the show! Striking a balance between spending & saving can be hard. Have fun NOW, but keep an eye on the future. 💕
Mary I hope you find out what’s happening soon! It really is scary to go through something like that. I had the same attitude after cancer. In the beginning I felt like I shouldn’t bother to buy anything because I might not get to enjoy it. Then every milestone I started to treat myself. It got to be where I treated myself too much, and like you said, you need to balance enjoying yourself because life is short but then realizing that you need to think about the future, too! Please keep us updated as to what you find out. I hope it’s nothing too serious and that you can be treated easily. On a humorous note-this is why people always say to be sure you are wearing nice undergarments! 😅. My grandmother used to say all the time to wear something nice underneath just in case! 😊
Thank you for sharing Dawn! Haha, we have that unspoken undergarment rule in Germany aswell - in case of a medical emergency - but this time, my undergarments were a tad TOO NICE 😂🙈
I'm sorry to hear that that happened to you. It's good that you are following up with specialists to find out if anything is wrong. I hope you feel better soon. When I was ill, it made me realize that all of these material things really mean nothing and I say that as someone who buys and has a lot of designer bags, shoes and clothes. At the end of the day, they really mean nothing. When you're well, you do forget that realization and now I'm back to buying pretty things in excess. It's important to find a balance in life.
Passing out is indeed scary, and not knowing why is even more scary 😳. I sincerely hope you are doing well, and I am glad you went to get yourself checked out. I think that it's okay to save for your future and get the things/do the things ( travel, shop, volunteer, etc.) you want to in present. 👜💄👛🙏
Thank you so much for sharing. It was actually my mom's untimely passing in 2023 that got me into collecting luxury handbags in the first place. I had a similar reaction to her passing - I kept thinking I was saving for a long retirement and I may not even make it to retirement... why not buy myself some nice things to enjoy while I'm still here and have my vision and my hands are still dexterous enough to enjoy these fine things in life.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm definitely keeping up those walks with Hubby; they've been a great way to get some fresh air and feel a little more grounded. 😊 Thank you again for the well wishes-I truly appreciate it! 💕
I suppose there is a balance between today and tomorrow, spending and saving. No point in total deprivation, but we have to factor in that tomorrow some money may be needed! The illness sounds very traumatic to live through. I am hoping it is nothing. Fingers crossed! Thank you for the video and thinking of you!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and well wishes! ❤️ I couldn’t agree more-striking that balance between enjoying today and preparing for tomorrow is so important. Total deprivation doesn’t make sense, but neither does spending without a care for the future. I’m trying to keep that perspective as I navigate this experience. The whole incident was definitely scary, but I’m hopeful it’s nothing too serious. Fingers crossed, and thank you again for thinking of me-it means so much! 💕
Hoping it is nothing Mary. I do think so balance is necessary - yes, buy the bag, but planning for the future is also important. Not total depravation, but enjoy today while also being cautious for tomorrow. ❤❤ glad you are feeling better.
Hi Mary, I hope you get better soon and it's nothing bad!! 🍀🍀🍀 I am currently also in a phase I am splurging since some months. I am most probably compensating some unhappiness and frustration arising from work. I especially bought more after german Vinted expanded with Italy and France 🙊 Hope to see soon your unboxing and curious about your decision on the black Kelly belt. Take care of yourself 🌻
Thank you so much for your kind wishes and thoughtful message! 🍀 It truly means a lot. I hope this splurging phase brings you some joy and comfort, even if it’s a little escape from work frustration-we all need those moments sometimes! 😊 The expansion of Vinted was such a welcome surprise, wasn’t it? 🙊 It’s made browsing even more exciting with all the unique treasures popping up from different countries! Even though I still feel most comfortable to stick with the German sellers and buyers. The black Kelly belt decision is still up in the air, but an unboxing is definitely on the way-stay tuned 😁! Thank you again for your sweet words, and take care of yourself too! 🌻💛
The only thing we have is the present moment. We can enjoy things, but I wouldn't prioritize them anymore (I used to). And I am definitely in favor of buying what I really want and not making substitute purchases. Instead of buying a lot of dupes, I'd rather buy the original item (and new). That's my take on it. I hope you feel better soon!
OMG , how scary !! The fact you saw it as a sign might be a good thing . With all the uncertainty going on in the world and constant reminders of our own mortality , it certainly has made me rethink about my bag obsession , things can change in an instant , and we can't waste our precious time of things that we can't take with us !!! Sending big hugs from across The Pond 💋💋💋
Thank you so much for your kind words and hugs 💛 It’s true, moments like these really make you pause and reevaluate what matters most. Our time is so precious, and while I love my bag obsession, it’s a reminder to focus on experiences and connections too. Big hugs right back across the pond! 🤗 Stay well and take care!
In my younger years I had similar experiences, except for the fainting. They were definitely migraine related and very frightening. It’s good to get everything checked out, but I’m sure you’ll be fine. Take care!!❤❤
So pleased that you were okay Mary as can imagine it was very scary for you and hubby ! Keeping everything crossed that you get the all-clear from your appointments and it was an isolated incident !! Big hugs !!
Oh my gosh, Mary! So very glad you’re okay! I suffer from periodic migraines, so a lot of what you described sounds familiar to me. Mine have never gotten consistent or severe enough to warrant medication or treatment, but my vision can be impaired and I get quite sick. I hope you continue along the recovery path and start to feel better soon! I would definitely continue to pursue diagnosis to confirm exactly what’s going on. Sometimes, it’s a blip on the radar screen, but other times it’s symptomatic of something else that needs treatment. I had this happen recently myself with some blood work results. Thankfully, after pursuing a specialist, I was able to confirm it was an anomaly, to my relief. I think everything is a balancing act … saving for something and spending. I lost my Dad about five years ago and he was not that old, so it was a stark reminder to me that none of us knows how long we have here. Just try to enjoy as much of the time given. We know tomorrow is not guaranteed. Take good care of yourself! ❤
Thank you for sharing! I lost my Dad in 2020 and I know that kind of wakeup call, that life is finite.. but somehow since the pandemic it was a gradual process of paying less attention to my own health, working too much, moving too little.. But I‘ll get back on track now!
how scary for that to happen at the murder mystery and they think your playing along! Be sure to make staying hydrated a priority. I had a completely unexpected health crisis come up and being American, getting those bill, so large I could buy a second home with the cost of health care here. Saving for health related expenses has become more of a priority. My mindset has been reinforced to choose experiences over things, always. For me its don't buy the bag, it's take the trip!
The German healthcare system for sure has it’s own problems aswell, but I‘m so grateful all examinations and treatments are covered by compulsory insurance. I didn’t even have to pay for the ambulance. Hope you‘re all well again 🙏
Wishing you a speedy recovery. I recently received a health result and came out of it feeling the exact same way. There is a handbag I had been eyeing but would not pull the trigger. After my health update, I said what the heck, I want it, I am getting it. Life can take a surprising turn in the split of a second.
So sorry you had this experience! I hope whatever is going on is easily resolved. In the US it can take a long time to see a specialist. Sometimes your primary doctor can call the specialist to get you worked in sooner if they feel it’s urgent. Sending you lots of prayers.
It’s kinda similar with the specialist appointments here aswell - I was very lucky with the cardiologist.. but now it feels like, I need the neurologist quicker - maybe my primary doctor can help me out about that tomorrow (I can not not work until end of January 😅 - so either it has to get better by it’s own, or I need a sooner appointment 🙈)
Hi, so sorry this happened. So scary. Hope everything checks out ok. Wow, I would imagine everyone thought it was part of the show. NYC used to have a similar type of interactive show called Tony and Tina’s Wedding. I have a framed picture that says “ life is short, buy the bag”. I lost my mom, aunt and uncle within 3 years of each other a few years back. So, I decided, if it makes you happy and feel good and you still pay your bills…then go for it. Sending prayers🙏🏼❤
I had a similar scare a month ago and I'm still not 100%. It's almost like I have a constant migraine that won't go away. It almost feels like the pain shoots down my neck and back. I'm getting a MRI soon. I've increased my water intake and rest a lot. I hope you find an answer. Praying for you my friend.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience-it sounds really tough, and I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s good that you’re staying hydrated and resting, and I hope the MRI brings you some clarity. Health scares like this are so unsettling, but it’s comforting to know we’re not alone in these challenges. Sending positive thoughts your way for answers and recovery. 💛
I used to have exactly the same symptoms when I was about your age. I had few passing outs ( and yes, most of them were at the most embarrassing moments as possible..but this is life ). I have a family history of migraines as well. I was going for all the medical exams you can imagine...and nothing...everything seems to be ok. That was until I had a fainting incident, when I was on a family vacation and there was a medical expert on the spot who examined me within 5 minutes after the fainting and what he determined was that I have a very mild case of hypoglycemia ( which is undetectable after 10 minutes after the incident). So, my advice for you is to start being aware when this is happening ( hopefully for you- never again) and see if there is a diffrence if you introduce low sugar releasing foods ( like oranges or orange juice). You can also start measuring your blood sugar levels on a regular basis. Your symptoms seems identical to mine, so if it is the same- no worries...once you are aware of it- you learn to control it...but I hope you feel better soon❤❤❤One more question- did you have kind of " out of body" experience afterwards- like you were there and aware of what is going on,but at the same time you felt like it you were not???
@@lg8723 thank you so much for sharing! I had those „out of body feelings“ the week before (when I thought I‘ll get the migraine - I didn’t feel like beeing in my body). After the fainting it didn’t happen that strongly, but when I try to focus on screen for a while, it kinda feels like zoning out (but not as strongly, as it has been, when I thought I‘ll get the migraine). I‘ll mentoon hypoglycemia to my doctor!
I’m kind of in loss of better words but I’m so sorry you have to go through this - it sounds really scary!! Hopefully it ended up being just one time thing. And what it comes to spending vs. saving I’ve always thought that we should enjoy life the way that works for us because at the end of the day, we can’t bring our savings with us when it’s our time to leave this world. Of course, for me enjoying life means that there’s also some buffer saved up just in case 😅 but once that’s there, spending & splurging is ok 😆
Sorry to hear.im also going through this uterine bleed and i didnt like miss work. but im worried that as sokn ad this hormone pills are done in 5 more days, the bleed will come back. what we have to go through... prayers ...

Blue lens glasses might help with your eye strain strain and migraines.
