What is Disciplined Agile (DA)?

- There are many different Agile methods. In this video, I want to answer the question, what is the PMI's Disciplined Agile, DA?
Disciplined Agile, is not a methodology, but a tool-kit. It makes use of a wide range of other practices to provide guidance for a range of contexts. It is also scalable; able to work at anything from the level of a single team to an entire organization. And it focuses on the choices you need to make, the alternatives available to you, and the trade-offs associated with these options.
Eight Principles
Within disciplines Agile, there are 8 Principles to guide agile teams;
1. Delight customers.
2. Be awesome.
3. Context counts.
4. Be pragmatic.
5. Choice is good.
6. Optimize flow.
7. Organize around products/services
8. Enterprise awareness.
To support Disciplined Agile, PMI offers 4 certifications:
• DASM: Disciplined Agile Scrum Master
• DASSM: Disciplined Agile Senior Scrum Master
• DAVSC: Disciplined Agile Value Stream Consultant
• DAC: Disciplined Agile Coach
