    Use that saw everyday, phenomenal tool, also picked up their 36v sawzall, the one that has UVP on the side, it has fundamentally changed the idea of what a cordless sawzall is capable of, my entire crew loves that thing

      Thanks for sharing, I can’t say enough good things about the metabo line up. I’m phasing out my dewalt stuff. Once a dewalt tool breaks down I’m replacing it with metabo no question

    You are correct, this saw is by far my favorite, I also own the dewalt and Milwaukee. Metabo is the only one I use and same thing with the impact driver.

  • @dcl97

    I bought a a bunch of the Milwaukee's for my framing crew, but saw how light this thing was in the store and bought a couple thinking it would be better for the guys working up high. Well everyone ended up fighting over the two and I had to buy 5 more.

    i bought one when you posted about it last. its a great saw, i wish it had a little more power but its easy to get straight cuts and its light as hell. thanks for the idea on the dust issue. i guess i have a new project to design and print on the 3d printer; an excuse to be able to write the 3d printer i bought this year off my taxes lol. appreciate the content.

      What intrigues me most is the battery life. I can take 150$ and buy a metabo battery that will smoke a dewalt battery in cut life that is twice the price. Being able to stay working longer and for less is what separates doing it to getting it done in many cases

      100%. A metabo hpt battery in that saw will outlast two in a makita saw

  • @histguy101

    It should just have a 2inch rafter hook. The one it has is fine, but sometimes it's hard to remove from a 2x. Since it cannot cut through an i-joist, it's got no reason for an i-joist hook, imo.
    On the dust post, I attached the adapter, and put a 90° PVC pipe elbow on it, and it shoots the dust down to the right below my hand. I've thought about drilling a hole near the front and attaching a pipe, so it just shoots away from me, but I'm worried it won't work.

    • @framingbeast720

      I like the pvc 90 idea

    • @histguy101
      @histguy101 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@framingbeast720 It's a 1" elbow, one end male, threaded, other end female. It screws/plugs right into the adapter. It will clog if you're ripping like a 12' 2x10, but pretty rare

  • @darthslipknot91
    @darthslipknot91 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Small note, the tool brand is called Metabo but the HPT still stands for Hitachi Power Tools so it's still Hitachi. I believe Metabo was their German brand name or something like that.

    • @offlinecity4055
      @offlinecity4055 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I'm not mistaken, Koki holdings, which I think has always been a part of Hitachi power tools, purchased both the power tool line of Hitachi as well as the German tool maker metabo at or around the same time. Which is why the metabo name is now used for Hitachi tools stateside. As for the markets across the pond, I'm sure hikoki was used to avoid extra confusion

    I been using the dewalt 6-1/2 right hand saw for entire jobs. every one walks passed the skil saw corded don’t even thing it come out the car anymore. Also The Milwaukee 7-1/2 , the dewalt 7-1/2 way to heavy so everyone walks past all those just the use the Lightweight dewalt..
    I just seen the metabo in store today was surprised it’s lightweight and had a nice balance, Wasnt far from the dewalt 6-1/2 weight..
    Would like to know how you feel about the metabo saw broken in after few months. And real feel from a real framer. Not tryin to listen this TH-cam guy who don’t actually do any work or swing hammer giving out information they the worse for informational videos.. but u actually work with tools daily better to know from you.
