Hey Ben, good to hear from you. Thank you so much for the visit. Yeah, not just any ordinary people. It was Wil Renwick president of the Welsh Ramblers and the River Man Dewi Roberts. At the source of the Wye. Awesome! A bit about the videos. They are long form Ben - not short at all. Agreed not the most popular format but I'm telling a story. The sad thing is I've lost so many subscribers/views because of the nature of it, which is loss - I've been here 8 years. My channel has been totally and utterly transformed and stunted because of the loss of my twin. But I need to tell the story and that of our Wye so to speak. I do still feature the outdoors but loss is threaded into it. I hope you can find the time to follow the adventure-get to know it. Thanks again. Mark
The beauty of you videos is not just that you show us stunning landscape or that you are on an adventure but that you take us with you on a spiritual journey. Great video, Mark.
Hi Andrew, thank you for your kind words and support. You do wonder about sharing these stories because it's not popular but it's my heart and soul and I won't be forced by the world to share anything else. If people haven't the patience for it or the heart then so be it. Your resonance doesn't surprise me. Brilliant. Thanks again. Mark
@@WyeExplorer I think it’s a question as to whom you are aiming these videos. Do you go for popularity or authenticity? For me there is no contest. If you are honest with yourself then people who recognise that will be engaged. As for the rest? I’m not concerned. Stay true to yourself and your vision. The world needs authentic voices and that you certainly are.
Loved this , the Plymlimon summit looks incredible for views , I can see why that would be such a special place for you. I’m definitely going to add it to my list and make it one of the next ones to do. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it Adam. There's only 7 or 8 more to go. Ha ha! Yes, Pumlumon is a favorite of mine and very special. I think you'd enjoy it. There's a large area to explore. A pleasure to share. Mark
Hi Mark, what a wonderful video. Those views are something else. Special moment with the conker placed by the source of the Wye for Paul. Great to meet some lovely people who also share a passion and respect for this beautiful landscape. 2014.. memory lane.....that moment touched me. The outdoors is a healer and a place to reflect on special memories like that. You chose a great camping spot for the evening nestled in a plantation. Thanks for sharing the first part of the Wye way and we look forward to the second part. Take care, best wishes, Paula & Adrian.
Hey guys, them views are awesome up there. A full 360. Glad you liked the conker. I was always going to honor Paul on this one because we were meant to be hiking it together. Meeting the people and meeting with old routes was great. Touching on all levels and healing. As for the camp that was a tuck in spot - loved it. Welk, it's always good to hear from you two. Part 2 will be uploaded this Friday and it's a good one. Hey guys take care - sending good vibes. Mark
Looks like a great place for hiking. It was a blessing to have your mother's there to see you off. "The homemaker has the ultimate career. All other careers exist for one purpose only - and that is to support the ultimate career." - C.S. Lewis
Hey friend, you got a point there. It was good to have out mothers present. We'd both been through a lot and still going through it. All the best. Mark
This looks like the start of a fantastic multi-day hike, fabulous views and beautiful weather for it. Nothing beats time outdoors with friends and family.
Hi there, thanks for popping in. No, nothing better than a bit of family love and support. I don't want to lose you as a potential supporter from the outset but had you watched the video (it is long and it does take time, which I appreciate) you'd realize that my mother was there because I have been dealing with the loss of my dear twin brother Paul of 48 years and Andy's mum was there because his marriage had broken down. It is good up there - my brother Paul and I had walked nearly all rivers of the Wye system from source (see channel). I've explored them all now - he was meant to be on this walk. I miss him terribly. The outdoors helps. Many thanks. Mark
@@WyeExplorer I’m sorry if my comment seemed to overlook your difficulties, it was meant in kindness. I watched the video and thought it was lovely to have your mothers there to support you both at a difficult time. I enjoyed the scenery and look forward to finishing watching the rest of the walk.
@@TheGirlGoneNomad That's Ok - the thing that made me question the view was the time stamp between your reply on your own video and the comment here. It was within minutes. And this is a fairly long video. It is good in this part of Wales. The Cambrian Mountains are often overlooked but are in fact wild and home to Wales's largest watershed hence the Wye and Severn rising from the same mountain where we started. I must say I am not at all bothered if people watch - people who know me know this. It's why their are chapters in the description. People have their time constraints. No! It's the integrity of comments that I am often concerned about. Again, I am cool about people not watching but if people claim knowledge of a certain video when they haven't actually watched it then I am often alerted to the potential of a false relationship. By all means people are free to skip watch and get the overall idea - I do that. And I make my comments based on that often but I make sure I do get the story. I've been on Y.T a long time and there is a way I think especially when we introduce ourselves. Well, have a good one. Peace!
Hey there, glad you enjoyed it. We had an amazing time. 3 episodes are up already. I'm uploading every 3 weeks to give people time because they are long. All the best. Mark
Hi Rivkah, good to hear from you. Many thanks. It was a good long walk. Part 2 up this next week. I haven't visited for a number of weeks. I will. All the best. Mark
Hearts and Souls Mark - I am re-watching all of our walks done the Wye. Dewi and Will, likeable, purposeful men. What a start! Beautiful to think of Paul and you being there in 2014. Peace bro
Hi Andy, good to hear from you. And so pleased you're still resonating with the walk. It was fabulous mate on all levels. We'll be back out there you and I feeling, experiencing and remembering. I so look forward to it. Mark
They do say Mark, that "better late than never" Now is the time for me to immerse myself into the Wye, hosted by your very good self. Last year was nothing more than a faint blare for me, so I take my hat off to you for organising and rising to the challenge of such an epic outing, good on you my friend. Stunning scenery, company and with wonderful energy, my evening viewing will be to follow your progress. Thanks Mark, always informative and delivered with heartfelt honesty humour and a smile.
Hi there Jim, so good to hear from you here on this walk. It was a fabulous walk and started well up at source. I mean the river man and Will Renwick from Outdoors Magic. What are the odds? It is good up there. My all time favorite place. A real pleasure to share. Take care Jim. Enjoy the walk unfolding. Mark
Outstanding video Mark! Wonderful to have the Mom's for the send-off. Stunning views and great memories, and the Wye flows on. Arthritis has crippled me to the point where I can no longer get to those special places anymore, so it is great to have photographs and videos to cherish. I watched this between 3am and 4am while riding the exercise bike, fighting my physical decline. We have snow on the ground and seemed to have skipped the November weather and went right to December. On we go Mark! Take care, Ossie
Hi Ossie, great to hear from you. It was indeed wonderful to have the mums there. Sorry to hear about the arthritis. I snapped my ankle clean years ago and years later it is showing signs of arthritis. Bugger! Good on you for fighting the decline. You're an example to us all. Our weather is wet today and blowy. I wonder if we'll have snow this year. Take care Ossie. All the best. Mark
Well I can't begin to tell you Mark just how much I've been looking forward to watching this. Lovely to see your Mum sending you off at the start, as well as Andy's too of course. You always meet great people on your travels and this was no exception. Some wonderful views from the Wye source and the top of Plynlimon. The start of a really great adventure along the Wye Valley Walk - I like the Wye Valley Way as its name too actually 😊 Great to see a bit of Paul again from 2014, an emotional and great pilgrimage for you at that same spot on the Wye. Could feel your emotion in this Mark, and it was great to join you in it. Look forward to the next chapter. All the best to you Mark and keeo safe as always. Cheers, Patrick 😊
I'm so glad it didn't disappoint Patrick. It was good to have mum there. I know you love your own. Yeah the people on this trip keep on coming - so stay tuned. The views are awesome all along the way to. Hey good to know you're a way person. Paul will always be in the walks. I keep crossing old paths in the Wye catchment Patrick. Thanks again my friend. Always appreciated. Mark
Such a powerful walk and pilgrimage. So much meaning from the past but such hope for the future. You Mums seeing you off was a special moment too. So good to see you on the trail again I believe there are so many new adventures for you and your injuries will continue to heal as you go at the right pace, while getting stronger
Thanks Richard. Yes, it was a powerful journey all the way. We met so many people like your Agy. The other videos are pretty far out. And I agree there are many more adventures where healing and spirit play a part. All the best. Mark
Thoroughly enjoyed the first episode Mark, it got me all excited for the summer.it may take me a while to get through the rest of the series but I am looking forward to watching them completely from start to finish ( no skipping). Thanks for letting me know about this walk. Take care. Jim
hey there Jim - wow thanks my friend. So pleased you enjoyed the first video. It is good up there. Here's to seeing you out then. I look forward to that to - always enjoyed your adventures/company. Well, in your own time but it is a good series. All the best out there. Mark
What a beautiful piece of work Mark. It made me recall a walk I once did to the source of the River Lune (one of Lancashire's principal rivers) a few years back. The source was such an insignificant hollow really (yes, like a bowler hat), yet it broadens and develops into something quite wonderful. The send off from your ma was a nice touch too. My dear mum died in April and I would love just one more 'send off' from her. Look forward to the next instalment. All the best mate, Chris
Hi Chris, thanks mate. Yeah I love the nothingness of a river source - the seepage and stillness. As for the send off here I did enjoy it. It was Andy's idea. I'm certain you miss your mum. What's her name? Well, thanks again Chris. Glad you enjoyed it. Mark
@@WyeExplorer Susan mate. She actually didn't like me wild-camping. She used to fret and worry about me being in wild and lonely places alone! God bless her.
Man. Some powerful stuff in there Mark. Featuring some of your older footage with Paul was emotional. You’re certainly keeping his spirit alive my man for us all to enjoy. Thats the way to do it. Plus, having those fellow minded folk partake in conversation near the source. Wonderful stuff. Beautiful as always. Thanks man John
Thanks John - good to hear that coming from you. Yeah, Paul is always in there somewhere. I mean I walk the whole Wye catchment and he's there - we walked all over it. As for the kindred spirits it's what makes it to. Many thanks. Mark
Great start for a long hike with Andy. Short but wonderful conversations with all the hikers you met on your way. Great memories from the previous adventures.
Hi there friend, good to hear from you. Yeah, some fantastic conversations. They certainly set the vibe up for the walk. As for memories I'll always remember my twin brother Paul. Many thanks mate. All the best. Mark
What a great hike Mark. An emotional one at that. I shed a tear watching this one. The mountains are a wondrous place. A healing environment which is so needed for our spirit. We are required to be strong in our everyday lives and get on with it but u tell you what, when I’m up there I bloody well let it all out. Thank you for sharing this hike Mr J. It’s always lovely to see your beloved Paul in your videos. Take care my friend.
Thanks Kimberley for your kind thoughts there. I was of course just being myself. Glad it moved you though. Yes, they are healing environments that give us strength and like you I let it out. A pleasure to share Paul as always. Mark
Thank you watching this made me feel really happy. It was lovely to see both of your Mums at the start of the walk and discover the special people that you met along the way. Beautiful filming and I really appreciate the effort that this must take. I have been walking along part of the Wye this afternoon enjoying her beauty and the stunning autumn colours. It always makes me feel both peaceful and revitalized. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey!
Hi Tina, glad it made you happy - that's one of the aims. I imagine the mums played their part. Yes, the filming turned out Ok. A lot of running about. Ha ha! Hey good to hear you've been beside the Wye and feeling it's good energy. Many thanks. Take care. Mark
A marvellous start to the walk Mark with mums there to get you both on your way. Always great to stop and chat to fellow travellers. The spirit of the hills and the Wye drew you all together. Lots of interesting people with tales, a story of their own to tell (Dewi). I love Children by Robert Miles... a great accompaniment. Amazing to think that the wonderful Wye starts from a trickle at Plynlimon. It always enters my mind when sat on its banks. We love that River. Man and dog working the sheep. Truly wonderful. Enjoyed your thoughts Mark very much throughout and when you made camp and settled in for the night. Paul is with you. You are a very talented film maker and narrator. Looking forward to part two. Paul 😊👍
Hi Paul, how you doing? Alright I imagine. It was a cool start with family present. As you know higher forces were at play mate - what were the odds of coming together with the River Man and Will the Ramblers president? Slim! Yes, I agree the Wye invokes them thoughts in me to as I look at it down here. Maybe you'll get up there some time. That would be good. Glad you enjoyed the scenes sheep and all and my thoughts. Well, I have wondered about you - hopefully see each other again sometime. Take care. Mark
@@WyeExplorer I haven't returned to Plynlimon since 2012 Mark. Have always got plans to. The same with Wiltshire and a return to Avebury, West Kennet, crop circles etc. Another part of this sceptred Isle that I find magical and connected to. All in good time. We live in interesting times and the veil between this realm and others is receding fast. Keep at it mate 👍😊
@@PaulOutdoors Well, a return would most definitely be enjoyed Paul after covid. The others sound evocative to. I wish you the best mate during these illusory times for many. Peace.
Those views from Plynlimon was extraordinary for sure. Looked like you two met some great folks along the way. Nice the way you mixed in the archival video of Paul too. Glad you're still able to get out and about with your health issues as well; I know what it's like to manage knee ligament injuries.
They're good views up there of Mid wales Amos. Love it every time - well maybe when the sun shines. Yes, there were some amazing meetings and I can't not include Paul. It's intrinsic to my life and always will be. As for the injuries I actually got stronger during what was a 150 mile hike. I'm chuffed about that. Well, thanks Amos. Take care over there. Mark
Mark, the start of a spiritual journey with so much significance. Beautiful to see both your mums at the start of this journey, which again gave a real sense of importance to what you were both undertaking. A stunning day to start, giving great views on the climb up Plynlimon. The source really isn't much more than the size of a bowler hat and how cool is to be starting from there and following the Wye all the way. It was great to see the water flowing and to see you retrace footsteps from your previous walk with Paul. A perfect spot camp just beside the Wye. I have to say it is so cool that you are both going on this epic journey and that it is a healing journey. There is a real sense of supportiveness and strength coming from you both and that is wonderful to see. I look forward to seeing the rest of the journey 😊
Hi gerry, it was an incredible walk and good to have the mums there. It symbolized something deeper and more meaningful. Ha yeah that source is the most beautiful to gather around - small and compact. I agree it was a healing journey that had an unexpected end though. Well gerry, an awesome comment. A big thank you as always. Mark
This kind of stuff is why I don't have a TV license! This was great Mark, maybe the best I've seen of yours. Brilliant. Interesting and entertaining. I think it's true that it's usually the hills and peaks that end up on peoples minds, not the rivers and lowlands. New bucket list addition, and you've got me dreaming of big multiday hikes across Wales. Thanks! Loved it mate, the people and conversations in particular were great. Top camera work too, some lovely shots. Thanks for sharing. Chris
Hi Chris, great to hear from you. I don't have TV either mater. Good to hear you enjoyed this one. It was on good on top chatting. Lovely guys seeking out the rivers. Go for that hike mate. Maybe we'll hike together one day. Part 2 sees footage contributed by Dewi Roberts from the source. It's a good one. Hope you can stick with the series. Gotta say I just subbed you again., I saw that I wasn't. Not sure how that happened. Thanks for the high praise. Peace dude. Mark
@@WyeExplorer It’s funny you say that. A few weeks ago I deactivated my account with the intention of deleting it. Long story, but I changed my mind and had to bring it back from the dead. @@chrishomer Well, Chris I hope you stick with it but I know your frustration here on the platform. It's a mixed bag of fortunes and emotions. I've thought about it to. But glad you rescued it mate. I'll be watching.
So much to catch up on. Mark! That was great to see your mums starting you off. Moments to treasure. I always admire your natural way with people you meet. A great hike with nice people and views. Can't beat a bit of food and drink prepared outdoors. Good memories just keep on coming.
Hey Terry. Yeah we like the mums and I do like to hook up with people. None of us last forever. I'm glad you enjoyed the folks along the way. I enjoyed the memories of Paul to. No, food and drink outdoors often taste's best. Thanks for the visit. Mark
Yeah a reasonable one Justin. There was sentiment in it and fair few good views to. A good portion of the walk is characterized by the views. All the best. Mark
The views are spectacular Mark, you have an awesome place there! Excellent presentation and soundtrack and the camp location looked absolutely perfect! Onwards to part 2!
Thanks dude. It is awesome up there - I love it as did my dear twin brother Paul. It's a long form video but there's more than just good views and music in this long D hike. There's a story in it if you have the heart and patience for it. I know it means eating up the time. But if you can find the time there's spirit in it. Thanks there mate. Mark

A deeply personal journey Mark great to see the mums out. Yes it's not about the gear, the gear is a means to an end. I can't fully explain why I love it I just know I do. We used to get sore fingers playing conkers lol. It's great just to walk the earth I could happily do that the rest of my life I don't have to tick off boxes TBH. ATB Mark.
Hey there Eddie, yeah it was great to have the mums send us off. We've both been through it recently and it was nice. You're right about the gear - it's a means to an end and I know you can't live without the nature. Ha ha the conkers - we had fun eh? Well, thanks Eddie, take good care up there mate. All the best. Now that was a good watch! 😊 sorry it’s been so long for me to watch this, Mark. Seem a little inundated with catch ups at the moment Love meeting and chatting to strangers like you did here, always good to hear what people are up to. Feel for you with regards to Paul, nice to see him talking in this one 😊 really good music choose too! Much love mark! Peace ✌🏼
Hey Ash, great you got here. No worries about the time. It is one of my biggest enjoyments I think meeting kindred spirits out and about. WE all have one thing in common and to resonate just makes all the more better. Yeah Paul is always with me and I loved pitting that clip in. The music? I heard Robert Miles Children on a building site on the last day. I just knew straight away that I was going find a cover and did. Thanks Ash. It mean a slot to me you making it over. Love, light, peace and happiness mate. Mark
Yeah, certainly turned out to be a good group Wiley. We love Wales. All the best. Mark P.S if you have the time there are other videos in this series. This is part 1 - no demands though. Peace!
Mark, I wish I could exspres properly how moving, how wonderfully touching your opening film to this epic walk is. I was holding back the tears a couple of times. Today I have felt a little emotional thinking of lost loved ones and you bought to life those buetiful feelings. Well here's looking forward to your next episode Mark. There are a handful of camping youtubers that can create something buetiful and your one of them.❤ Thanks.
Hi Dave, a big thank you. Yeah, a good start and there is no crossing old paths and not remembering those we loved and still love eh? It sounds like you do some good remembering to. I've started part and will upload possibly end of next week. Thanks for the encouraging words there. All the best where you are. Mark

Just started this series, Mark. Off to a good start! What I love about your videos is, it’s never shallow. Always something to learn and relate to. I’m sure Paul is proud of you, and was with you throughout this pilgrimage. All the very best, Mari
They are long Mari but thank you and in your own time. I've chaptered them now also - so see below. But you can watch in full. Yes, I like to explore my inner self as well as the places we pass through. It can all be to much gear and heroism can't it? Paul is always with me and vice versa. @@FunsizedEarthling Hey Mari, I get that my friend. That's why I say now skip watch if you like or in full. But I do like to settle down to one. Some of yours have been great. He comes to me Mari often and I have even recorded it. It's very bizarre. Anyway, have a good evening. Over to your new video.
A beautiful introduction to the start of your adventure I love the music, wonderful blue skies and a 136 miles wow! Magic meetings brilliant to meet such interesting people able to feel the connection ,not something that can be achieved very often in London unfortunately. The Wye Valley walk...completely agree it is a medicine getting out there and breathing it all in …not the Gear .jacket tent etc...That camp spot looked idyllic mmm...I will be looking for a spot something like that hopefully on my next trip which i hope will be in the very near future. That was a tonic to watch Mark.
Hi Ana, yeah it was a few miles more after we finished but awesome - just love to wander/you know what I mean. And I love to meet amazing people to. There were certainly a few out here. I wish you the best on your next outing Ana. I know what the big smoke can get like. So, see you out there in 2021. I really look forward to your adventures. Hope you can stick with th series. It was great to meet you and Andrew close to Newbridge in the pouring rain, as you headed downstream, and we neared the end of our walk following the Wye all the way from Chepstow to Plynlimon, largely sticking to the Wye Valley Walk route. Loved this video of your start, lots to think about. We so enjoyed our journey, the diversity, the beauty, the wonderful people we met, and now the blisters have healed we only have good memories. Looking forward to more of your story. :-) Ross & Carol.
Hi Ross, it was really good to meet you guys amid the rain and our brollies. Ha ha! It was a good start and as you said it was a diverse trail. It kept giving. Good to hear the blisters have healed. Hey there Mark, pleased you like the start. It was wonderful and different. Aaah, yeah I came across that tune in the lower Wye nearing the finish. It was on a building site so I looked for a cover. Funny how things come to us. Glad it reminded you of back in the day. I was raving in the woods then. Ha ha! Cheers buddy. All the best. Mark
Really enjoyed watching this Mark. It was a pretty special day on the mountain for me after a long hiatus from the hills and this brought it all back. What a journey you and Andy are on - I feel privileged to have featured briefly in it. It's funny, it didn't feel busy on the mountain that day, but watching this, you'd think it was! I guess the few people up there all gravitated together!
Hi Will, great to hear from you. I agree it was a special day. What were the odds of us lot aligning up there on Plynlimon and at source? Slim odds! It was a pleasure to feature you - a good interview I thought. Yeah lot's of gravitation there and throughout the whole way. Hope you can stay tuned. All the best out there. Mark

Wonderful to see your dear Mums at the start. Good to hear that you took it nice and easy, pointless trying to be a hero and damaging yourself...maybe permanently. What some nice meetings you had. Perfect weather too....absolutely stunning.

It was a cracking first day Dave. Mothers and meetings with kindred spirits. Paul is always there and I'll include him in the stories and walks forever I think. As for the weather can't argue with that. Thanks Dave. All the best. Mark
Yes it is Samantha. I was walking with wonder once more but without me dear twin Paul on this one. Alongside the landscape this was at the heart of the walk. Have a good day. Mark
Great poetry, great that you honour mothers, and most of all: fantastic hike and scenery 👍🤩 Agree with you completely on the factory farming by the way.
Thanks friend. Glad you enjoyed it views, farming thoughts and all. Yeah it was good to have the mums there but the biggest honor was to my dear late twin brother Paul. You may have missed that. All the best. Mark
@@WyeExplorer Yes I was actually very moved, but didn’t know if it was appropriate to mention it. I wanted to write that I’m really sorry about your brother.
@@scandinaviannaturediaries8892 Aaah bless you my friend. I will always seek to raise the profile of my twin (Paul) - I didn't mean to be impatient. Yes, I miss him every single day. We didn't get married or have children and we lived together. He was my hiking, camping, swimming and dreaming buddy. We live to make sense of it. Peace out there.
@@WyeExplorer I think I know what you mean. My father was the one who taught me to love nature, and took me on walks and hikes from I was a baby. Then his life was slowly torn apart by depression, and I tried to help him but couldn’t. I could only watch him slip away and finally die. There is not a day going by without me thinking of him, and I honour him by doing what I know he wanted me to do; walking, hiking and being outdoors as much as possible.
@@scandinaviannaturediaries8892 Beautiful friend. We resonate on many levels. Yes, fulfilling what we dreamed of and loved is the best way to connect with them-the light they carried. Peace bro.
That campsite amongst the pines didn't look at all ‘grim’ to me Mark... nestled in pine trees looking out at the gurgling Wye... how much more does a man need? really heartening to see people camping in wild nature, just as it should be!
Hey Andy I agree. I said that for the benefit of other people. It was a superb site. In part 2 it's revealed even more. Hope you can find the time. No demands. Peace dude.
That was a nice send off having your mum's there , I like the way you meet people along the way and bring them into the video, good to see you taking your time too to take it all in, a really nice trek, ATB 👍
It was indeed a good send off Gaz. Put us in a good mood for them folks. Mind you the mountains did a pretty good job of that. Yeah compassionate hiking Gaz. Mark
Superb film! Obviously very poignant to you personally, but I just enjoyed the slow pace, taking the time to enjoy the surroundings and the people you met. I'm looking forward to catching up on parts 2 & 3! All the best 👍
Hey there Des, yeah what point is there in a hike if you miss the space and the people put in your way? Not much point. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, Paul is always with me. We started hiking the Wye rivers together. All the best out there. Mark
What a beautiful start to your trip Mark, you were truly blessed with the glorious sunshine. Crazy world my mum is also called Pat, that was o beautiful moment with both you, Andy and your mums. That really does look a mind blowing place and such an emotional Journey really emotional my friend. But as you say Paul's spirit was with you I strongly believe you. I'm looking forward to following you on this. 👣👣👣 we are going on a baer hunt, both Claire myself and our daughter Grace love that story. We have a walk in which we used to play out that story. Peace be with you and blessings my friend
Hi gerry. Thank you so much and great to hear from you. Yes, Andy's idea the mums although I was up for it straight away. I loved them both kicking us off especially because of Paul's absence - we were going to walk this one together but it was great with Andy what with inspirational people, fabulous mountains and thought provoking stories of bear hunts. I wish you all the best on yours dear fellow. All the best to you all and please do check out the others. It gets good all the way. Mark
Hi Steve, thanks for the encouraging thoughts there. Glad you enjoyed this one. Yeah, gotta be mindful with injuries or even in general. Have a great day. Mark
A beautiful endeavour, got quite emotional I have to say. I want to do a similar thing, undertaking mini pilgrimages to places where I went with my mum over the years. It's been emotionally difficult to begin that particular undertaking. While I build the strength for that I take her with me on every new adventure, she was an artist and I often imagine how she would paint each landscape. Nature really does form deep connections within us to everything around us.
Hi Jess, thanks so much for opening up there. Hike like this and the other hikes that take me to where Paul is can only do the same for you. I can honestly say that to feel all that the places you speak of will make you feel will be the best thing. Meditate on her life and on nature. Many thanks. Mark
Great first day loved the footage of chatting too the people you both met at the summit, lovely views of your descent but looked a bit of a climb back up to pick up the camera lol, everybody should love water and the rivers because its the very reason we all live. thanks for taking us along nigel
Hi Nigel, chatting to the people was pretty much the best part of the day. Glad you enjoyed that. Ha ha, yeah the price of a good shot on youtube - we cover a lot more distance. As for water and rivers I agree. Settlements are based around them and we are 68% water. Hey we're waterlings. All the best. Mark
Wow looks like a great start to what should be an awesome trip, look forward to coming along on the rest of this one. Nice to see you managed to got such a major trip in this year. What a social start to the hike as well, funny meeting so many like minded people in such a secluded place. I really havnt thought about it much before but its true that so many people seem to be all about the mountains and finding the next summit, but far less people go for the valleys and explore the bits in between the mountains properly. Always loved a mountain view myself, but always really been more of a woodland and bottom of the valley guy overall haha. Nice to hear about your last trip here as well and great to see some clips of Paul and your last trip in general. Amazing views along the way and you crossed some fun/tough looking terrain, especially at the bear hunt bit. Really hope to do something like this with the towy one day, go from source to sea, but at least source to lynn brianne is the goal for this summer if Wales ever opens up again haha. Looks like a lovely riverside camp at the end, with awesome looking tall trees above you. Hope the trip went well, look forward to catching the rest of it. (For a second that dried onion makes me think youre about to start using bushcraft techniques to make fire haha, before you mentioned what it was haha). All the best!
Hey there Reef, Thanks for the awesome comment. Yeah I agree the valleys and gullies and everything else in between add perspective to a mountain or big hill. Love it inside the so to speak especially when it's a sociable as this to. Some great people about. Thanks for mentioning Paul. He loved it up there. He's with me the whole route. As for the camp it's nice just to tuck in somewhere and even better when it works out. Well, I hope you do that hike from the source of the Towy. I've been along some of it it is amazing out back there. Thanks Reef - good to hear from you. All the best - hope you enjoy the others. Mark
That's one of the joys isn't it Martin? Them kindred spirits out there really do give us a boost and vice versa. As for remembering we're built for it us humans. Paul is with me throughout the catchment because we hiked so much of it. Thanks my friend. Part 2 being worked on. All the best over there. Mark
This was a unique walking video Mark. A slow and thoughtful pace throughout the video makes a change from the usual type of stuff on TH-cam. Arsene Wenger once said everybody thinks they have the best looking wife at home so I didn't agree with the comments of that Welsh President Rambler lol all the best! :-)
Hi there Snowy, many thanks. It certainly felt different - two old school mates from 36 years ago and both having experienced loss. There was that spirit present. I think Will was just proud of Wales being Welsh. It is a great way the Cambrian. I'll do it one day. As for this one it to was awesome. Hope you can return for the series. Uploading this Wednesday part 2. Thanks again. Have a cool week. Mark
The whole scenery there is heavenly, Mark. I like that you still take Paul with you. Bonded by blood! Dewi really got chatty there 😁 Great little camp there on the Wye. Well spotted sir! Hope the onion brew didn’t make you too musical in the tent 😁 Good old Mum’s and “what a day” mate 😉👍🏼
Hey Tim, yeah you'd love it around there mate. Simply inspiring. Paul is always with me and he will always find a way in somehow. As for Dewi he was great. I use two clips of his in Part 2. I agree that camp was a cheeky little spot. Got a good nights sleep despite the onions. As for the mums that was beautiful. Cheers buddy. All the best. Mark
Hi Daz, yeah it was a good one people and Paul and all. The walk kept on giving. It's worth following. Mark P.S I'll be following another trail of yours. The last series was fun.
Hey dude, yeah it's good up on Plynlimon Mid Wales's highest and the source of the Wye voted Britain's favorite river. I love it. Thanks for the sub. All the best. Mark
Very relaxed video Mark. I like the conversations with people along the way. Thanks for sharing.

Hi G.T yeah it's a fabulous area. A pleasure to share. Mark
Beautiful upload again my friend!!!! Thanks for the share 😊🙏

Peace!
Really enjoyed that. Looking fwd to the other episodes. ATB🏕

Hey there dude, thanks - that's appreciated and I understand.

@@WyeExplorer I'll keep joining you on the walks ....rather spasmodically perhaps, but with much delight.
@@susanapiohtee762 Thanks Susana it means a lot to me. I'm uploading part 2 this Friday morning and it's really good if you can make. No rush or demands though. Peace!
Mark
Now that was a good watch! 😊 sorry it’s been so long for me to watch this, Mark. Seem a little inundated with catch ups at the moment
Love meeting and chatting to strangers like you did here, always good to hear what people are up to.
Mark
Awesome group and a beautiful walk some great country your crossing
Yeah, certainly turned out to be a good group Wiley. We love Wales. All the best. Mark P.S if you have the time there are other videos in this series. This is part 1 - no demands though. Peace!
One magical moment after another on this film Mark, thank you for sharing this with us.👍👍👍
Hi Anthony, yeah it was a good start mostly. The whole walk just keeps giving. Mark
There are a handful of camping youtubers that can create something buetiful and your one of them.❤
Thanks.
Hi Dave, a big thank you. Yeah, a good start and there is no crossing old paths and not remembering those we loved and still love eh? It sounds like you do some good remembering to. I've started part and will upload possibly end of next week. Thanks for the encouraging words there. All the best where you are. Mark
Stunning Country and a fabulous journey meeting people along the way. How lovely to have your Mums there at the start. I’m very close to mine. ATB Mark.
Hey Mark, thanks mate. It was a great start mums and all. Good to hear your close to your mother. Take care mate. Hope you can stay tuned.
It's totally transformed the channel Mari - I couldn't help that. Well, good to hear from you. All the very best to you to. Mark
@@WyeExplorer Long videos don’t bother me, Mark if the content is good. I always just pause and come back to it when I have to go and do something else.
It’s what journeys are about, discovering one’s self. Don’t slate me, I just posted a video going thru my sleep system. Haha! I like hearing people’s thoughts and also open to suggestions/recommendations from people’s camping experiences.
You are one with Paul and Paul is with you. 👍🏼 Cheers, Mark! Enjoy the rest of your day. Mari
@@FunsizedEarthling Hey Mari, I get that my friend. That's why I say now skip watch if you like or in full. But I do like to settle down to one. Some of yours have been great. Gear is cool and we have to use it so yeah we're gonna talk about it but sometimes it just seems all about the gear with some. I agree Paul is with me.
All the best. Mark
Fortunately I didn't get any and don't ever tend to. Well, more uploads to come with you in one no less. All the best. Mark
So great your moms seeing you off! My mom is almost 87, so she doesn't do that anymore... But at least she's still around. My dad was gone at 63.... But your brother was only 48, that's young... But he was there on your memory lane with a beautiful sunshine! 🌞 It's good to keep his memory alive! 👍 Have a great day! Kaat
We loved it Kaat, it was great to have them. Good to hear of your mum - she's lasted well. Sorry to hear of your dad. My father was only 53 and yeah Paul was only 48. Life can be aright pain. But with great memories we're spired on. Thanks Kaat. All the best. Mark

Nice to see the collie in training...... great stuff. Nice to see you are keeping well Mark... have a great weekend mate, all the best, Mark :) :)
Mark
Real nice day on the trails, thanks for sharing
Hi J. Thanks mate. It was good.
Mark
What a great start to an epic walk Mark. Beautiful meeting your mum. Amazing the interesting people you meet on your journey through life.

Wonderful to see your dear Mums at the start. Good to hear that you took it nice and easy, pointless trying to be a hero and damaging yourself...maybe permanently. What some nice meetings you had. Perfect weather too....absolutely stunning.
Hey Bry, thanks mate. Yeah had to be mindful - you know what I mean but did it in reasonable time and I didn't make anything worse. The meetings all the way have been awesome or were. Thanks again. Have a cool weekend.

This was a unique walking video Mark. A slow and thoughtful pace throughout the video makes a change from the usual type of stuff on TH-cam.
