It is sad to witness the decline of a football giant. As a LFC fan I can relate watching the club I love fade away in the early 2010s but they dug deep, and reinvented themselves to become the club they are now. If they win the Champions League it will confirm that they are back. Question for Claude and TY, Do you believe that Arsenal need to reinvent themselves as a club and culture or are they still very much in the Arsene image to ever think otherwise?

I don't blame Ty for that view. Mustafi and Xhaka have talent, and it wouldn't be smart to sell so low. See if they rebound under new management. My three buys would be as follows: (1) I think Ndidi or Doucouré would provide some much-needed power and athleticism to Arsenal's engine room. Arsenal have a bad habit under Wenger of getting steamrolled in the center of the park. (2) Arnautovic would provide the mix of attitude, aggressiveness and technical ability that Arsenal lacks cutting in from the wing right now. Welbeck and Iwobi are squad depth, not go-to attacking options. Arnautovic flanking Aubameyang and-or Lacazette, with Özil and/or Henrik providing service, would be much more dangerous than the current set-up. (3) I would go out and buy one of the many tenacious defenders who have done such a nice job this year for the mid-and lower-table sides in England. Lascelles (24), Maguire (25), Dunk (26), Duffy (26), Mee (28), Tarkowski (25), Schindler (27), etc. are all the right age to come in and provide grit and determination to a back line that is pretty high on technical ability but a little low on ruggedness. All the options mentioned posted good numbers this season, but I couldn't say which would be the right tactical fit. The theme with my three suggestions is a shift towards a more direct, aggressive unit. Arsenal are simply too lightweight right now. They play with finese like Man City but without Man City's talent. As City found out against Liverpool, even with top of the line talent their methods are dangerous.
