This is actually an incredible show and it is unique and so positive and calming. The production quality is absolutely top notch and Les and Paul are perfect hosts. This is a seriously underrated show. I really hope they continue making more episodes and I hope more people discover this masterpiece of a program.

Lived on the coast all my life, never ate a chiton, when we gathered abalone as children, we discarded the meat, kept the shell for the mother of Pearl.

Agreed. It has criminally low views. It took me a while to decide to jump into it, dunno why. So glad I did though.

Thank you so much Les for putting your old episodes on youtube for all to see. This channel is an absolute treasure. You inspired me to get into backpacking a few years ago, and this summer I am finally going out for seven days and nights just like the Survivorman himself. So happy to still be able to see new content and support you all these years after the show.

In case anyone was curious this was filmed around Victoria B.C. Specifically the cooking portion was at Island View Beach. The harvesting portion appeared to be East Sooke park or the general area around Sooke.

But also those dishes that you guys made that chef Paul made looked absolutely wonderful and sounded wonderful that is so awesome I can't wait to see more from you

Did you forage for ground nut yet les, or pig nut?
Usually gathered in may when they're in flower
Old ryme. Here we go gathering nuts in May
Permission required from landowner to dig them up, because they became rare

My one note of caution is to mind where you harvest. Some Oregon tidal zones are labeled Marine Preserves and no harvest of any kind is permitted.
