I enjoy going back and rewatching these older video. It's amazing to see how Corporals Corner has changed through the years. Hopefully we'll get another 13-14 years of Corporals Corner!!
Thank you Corporal! Great content, as always! Two things I would add: 1) a spare AAA battery for the light. County Comm sells a Delrin battery locker that's watertight and exactly the size for AAA or AA cells, and hangs nicely on a key chain. 2) I always say, if you carry tools that can make holes in people, you should carry supplies to fix holes in you. I use a stainless steel pill fob to hold two large bandaids, a packet of Neosporin, and four Advil caplets...just enough to take care of a puncture, scrape or gash.
As usually: great ideas, no BS. If you go to a slightly less beefy version of paracord (e.g. 420 Paracord instead of 550) you might be able to add some more length without making it to bulky. Or you could add a spool with 2 or 3’ of Duct tape on the inside of the paracord hank without making it bulkier than it is now. Just some adjustment that I am going to try out!
Corp. I carry survival equipment all the time and I live in the City. I recommend a small bottle of water approx. 4 ozs. as well. Thank you for serving our needs. It is good. Bob G
2013??? Its 2018 now. And I only found these a few months ago? I'm amazed that you have so many, but I better understand why: you've been at this a while now. Please, keep them coming & thanks.
Thank you sir for sharing your knowledge.I HA 've built a mini kit using you as a guide. This will never never leave my side after last winter getting turned around in a woods I have been in since very young.was dehydrated and got disoriented and with what knowledge I had made it out barely by dark.Thank you Sir for your time and service!
Salt/Salt water/perspiration can eat up a ferro rod. This is why some are marketed with a watertight enclosure (Exotac and the Aurora Fire Starter By Solo Scientific to name two). Some people have had good results coating their rod with clear nail polish. Carry on!
Great little kit there. Another idea might be to use paracord to use one of the many different weaves to compact it down, while making a hand grab lanyard for the knife. Personally, I have 10 feet of paracord wrapped around the sheath of my knife which also serves as a neck carry lanyard. I poked 2 different sized sail needles into the belt loop of the leather sheath which conceals them and keeps them secure. Added a whistle and a mini photon LED to the neck lanyard, and Light My Fire Army model rides in the sheath loop.
I added a mini ferro stick to my Trekker in the toothpick spot. Yes, it's very small, but having another fire source was much more important to me than a toothpick, which I can easily craft with the same knife.
As always, great videos straight and to the point. If you don't mind, let us know how the Fenix E01 holds up. Also, if I may make a suggestion, when showing equipment, mention where it was made. I respect that this is your channel, and if you feel it doesn't fit the format, that's fine:-) thank you for taking my suggestion into consideration.
bingo -- got it, i was just thinking since i do not have paracord at the moment, i could use a strand of braided fish line for simple cordage ... yeeeshhh 😁
I was just watching your video on the mini kit and I was thinking that you use the 36 Bank line all the time and how much more corded you could get in the same space with the number 36 Bank line oh, I do realize that it is hard and maybe has a sticky outer surface but perhaps you could wrap that in something and make it more feasible. What are your thoughts on that corporal?
I started carrying cordage in my pocket in fast rope configuration in place of a wrist bracelet as I can comfortably carry a longer length, which is better protected from sweat, sun and abrasion, is more easily deployable, restowable and does not make some kind of unintended fashion statement. I have been wondering how best to add an attachment loop to the bundle, I think the method you show might be the answer. Thanks for sharing.
Crazy that I have a USB rechargeable flashlight that is smaller in circumference and is half the length and has 500 lumens compared to this 13 lumen one in your video. Sometimes technology is awesome.

Great knowledge for EDC. It can easily fit in scout bag to reduce weight and keep essentials together

Or bank line would also work and you could hank up even more.
Hi Shaun. I hope I spelled your name correctly. That's a really great little kit, I like it. Thanks.
Hi Corporal. Super parts, but i've missed a rolled up plastic bag.
