I know he's a bully, but I liked the way Lari handled that. He was compassionate and he told her about his mother and when he introduced himself to Sebastian he called himself her friend. He didn't even try to pretend with the whole "boyfriend" thing.
This is actually very sad to watch! I disagree with whoever said the acting is bad. Considering that Finnish people don't show much emotions, the acting here is perfect! I can't imagine being in such a situation, I'd probably break down.
This episode is heartbreaking. Calling the 'End of Life' is not an easy choice. As I had been there. In some ways I wish Lari hadn't been there instead Elias be there. Yet, Seeing Lari there showed us that deep down he does have a heart and cares for people. Lari and Ida do have some things in common, and this is one of them.
It may seem so, but Finnish is really monotonic language and it sounds for foreigners like we are robots when in reality it's not like that...though the acting in this show isn't the best in the world either
Rainbow Pie I'm so sorry for you. Condolences. After Elias died i am a little afraid too. Because every day i have to cross a few busy roads. I am just so afraid of dying, i am not afraid of death itself, i am just afraid of dying too early. I realized after Elias died you can be dead without being able to know what is happening. I do not know if this helps you, but it is meant in a good way. I do not think death is so horrible, because we all have to face it. Again, condolences.
It's Helsinki, but all the characters live in same neighborhood and more specifically, in same building, and they've all lived there for decades and many people in that building are related to each other so that's why they know each other so well.
A wealthy family I know kept their comatose daughter on life support for decades. At the end she was no sleeping beauty but a wizened hunched shell, almost unrecognizable as a human being. Not a humane thing to do!
I know that I would never be able to do that to my mother. Only if her pain was getting worse for a very very long time and the odds of her recovery had to be less than 0%. I would prefer to have her sleeping forever and have that 0.0000001% chance of her coming back.

Hmmmm... what town is this supposed to be? Not Helsinki... Looked like Turku once in one shot. But it comes across as a VERY tiny place where everyone is everyone else's mother/brother/doctor/ex-boyfriend/neighbour. More convoluted that just about any soap I've seen. Plus Katerina's rather over-complex combination of roles in connection with Ida, Ida's mother, AND Sebastian is just too much. There must be a few other doctors at that hospital! Meanwhile, where's Cindy?
