I actually tried floats on this one way back when. Unfortunately they were not quite big enough. The plane would float fine with the engine not running, but with it even at idle it would dump over forwards! ...actually, I still have those floats as well - hanging in the garage!
Wow, this brings back memories! This was my first plane back in 1989. Actually, mine was the Durabat then I upgraded the wing to the Aerobat wing (still as a tail dragger). Started with an OS MAX 25, then OS MAX 35 then finally the Magnum GP40 (all nitro). Glad to see you've made some big changes to yours and you are loving it. Sold mine years ago before getting back in electric RC planes in 2020. Have fun with yours!!
Yes Bill, my initial motivation was related to the great memories. But, now that I have flown it, I'm drawn by the fantatic way it flys - even if it doesn't look like much!
L'ho pilotato oggi, ed è stato fantastico! Il rollio è bello e dritto, e fa bene tutte le acrobazie. E gli atterraggi possono essere fatti a una velocità ragionevolmente alta con un assetto a muso in su.
Nice model, I do recall maybe close to 30 years ago now, watching it's cousin, the 'Durabat' fly on floats. Very nice, true sport models.

certo e' stato interessante e piacevole seguire la trasformazione di questo modello e spero di vederlo volare quanto prima , complimenti .
