THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this video. Without it, I would not have been able to make the repair! I have an older model and found combination of, flat head - not hollow, nail set and a nail helped get the two pins out in lieu of the tool you demonstrate with.

Excellent video. Made the repair super easy and simple. The repair literally took as much time as the video itself. I’m back in the nail gun business now!

This was a great guide to repairing my Dewalt finish nailer. The trigger valve was only about $12 on Amazon and the new one restored my nailer to its original condition.

This worked like a champ. My Dewalt 15 g angle nailer wouldn't fire. The damn thing was practically in new condition, but I hadn't used it for a while. Replaced this part and fixed it right up. I had to use my Porter Cable gun instead, which ironically is about 8 yrs older than the Dewalt--never had to replace any parts on that one.

just ran cross this video, my dewalt finish nail gun would not fire, pulled the trigger apart, and in this video, you show all the o-rings on the trigger,,EXCEPT THAT TINY WHITE LOOKING SMALL O-RING ?!, sure enough..that o-ring that goes on the inner part at the bottom was gone, replaced it with an o-ring from a harbor freight o-ring kit, BACK IN BIZZ NOW !..thank you for this video on showing how to take it apart, and what all the parts looked like.

I had replaced all the o rings in my DeWalt D51844 framing gun. And it's still is blowing air out the trigger when I pull it in to shoot. Do you know what this could be? Thanks

When you replaced them, was that one white one actually wax at 1:37? That's what failed on mine.

Would be nice to see how it acts when this repair is needed and confirm it worked.

    • @darkwood777

Because of the leaking o-ring(s), it will blow air from near the trigger when it is pulled, but not blow enough air to drive a nail. When the repair is made, the nailer drives the nail as intended.

Did you find out what it was

  • @RefinerSimilitude

1:37 That thing that looks like a white o-ring near your wedding band is exactly what failed on mine. There's a chunk of it remaining and it's not an o-ring at all, but a very soft wax stained orange from the oil I'm using. Maybe the oil changed it's composition, but I think it was originally wax. I think it's designed to fail first. I wonder if there is an o-ring replacement I can use so I don't have to wait for shipping and can get back to my task at hand.

Sometimes soaking the O-rings in some transmission fluid will make them fresh again

@@micanopykracker902 I used a $7 o-ring kit from Harbor Freight to fix mine. Just used some calipers to measure the spot and picked the closest o-ring.

@@micanopykracker902 I bought two air valves, but they weren't going to arrive on time. You can have them if you pay shipping.

Hi, Did this white ring turn out to be grease or a another o-ring made of a different compound?

Show a coil gun it doesn't come apart that easy pull the pins and there's not enough room to pull the valve assembly try it and see!
